The "In Times Of Need" shotgun needs to be completely removed from the game.
So, if you play Crucible, you've maybe managed to score you a legendary Shotgun, by the name of In Times of Need.
However, you probably dismantled it because it is the shittiest shotgun in the entire game. Like ever.
Here's why.
It has a low rate of fire. But it also has a low impact, AND range.
Meaning that it shoots slow as shit, it hits like shit, and the range is shit.
It's shit. I don't even know how it made it into the game.
I want to meet the developer who was like "Yeah, this is a nicely designed shotgun, the community is gonna love this thing."
In Times Of Need. The flavor text is all like [i]In Times of Need, pull this trigger[/i] or some shit.
But it reality, when you're in times of need, you'd be better off putting this shotgun away and getting another god damn gun out.
You may think I'm exaggerating about how bad it is, but it really is [i]that bad.[/i]
A very lousy rolled Hakke shotgun will outperform a God rolled In Times of Need.
I'm not even kidding.
When's the last time you were killed by this shitty shotgun?

That's cuz the weapon designers are clearly lazy and just thinking "screw this, let's just make any shotgun. Too lazy to actually make it look unique or perform differently from other shotguns. Let them play around with it and if it's bad oh well boo hoo."

2 RespuestasI have one with Hand-Laid stock and Smart Drift Control. Let me tell you, having a shotgun with near nonexistent range is great. That's exactly what I look for in shotguns.

I have a blue shotgun, I think it's called two for the road, it's honestly better than most legendary weapons. Party crasher archetype, 3 round mag with LiTC. I can't tell you how often I get that lucky shot, especially on the first one. Pull the trigger, reload 1 round, rinse and repeat.

Just dropped a 2.6 kd in rift first game on this morning and only game today. Dropped an exotic arm engram, which I'm hoping holds claws for my warlock ( I know they are bugged) since I've gotten every other arm exotic for warlock, and on top of it my 4th party crasher w aggressive ballistics and rifled barrel and reinforced barrel has dropped finally paired with rangefinder. Pretty pumped to have a rangefinder w choice of reinforced or rifled barrel. The third perk was exhumed lmao. But still a god roll. All the other three I have also have range in mid tree and agg ballistics.

i have one with rifled barrel and surrounded and grenadier. its not that bad and feels rewarding to get kills with it in pvp . so yeah i like it .

If my In Times of Need weren't Void, which I sometimes use in PVE, I'd have dismantled it a long time ago. And if I get a good PVE shotty to drop with Void Burn on it, it will be dismantled for 5 Marks. HEHE

I got one to drop at 335. I think it was from weekly crucible bounties. Took it out to patrol the Cosmodrome. It kicked serious ass in the Divide. :/

25 RespuestasIn times of need was the pre concept version of found verdict. Just like the eysluna was the pre concept for hawmoon. The only reason either of those are in the game is because bungie was to lazy to make alot of new weapons when ttk dropped.

The only thing shittier than its performance is its looks. Absolutely hideous looking gun. Equip it on your back in the Tower for reference. It's longer than most rocket launchers. Almost as long as No Land Beyond. All things considered, who in their right mind thought this would be a good or even decent gun when they designed it? Was it ever tested out before release? Did anyone happen to look at it?

Agree OP, it would be far easier if Bungie removed it and just gave us 3 marks instead, at least we don't have to piss about dismantling it after you go back to the postmaster and find it there! lol
