This was on orginal post by my friend, I just thought this needed to be read by everyone.
It's pretty fockn universal alright.
MildlyEntertaining Rant
For about 20 trials matches, any time the other team was losing, they'd put it on and just rush.
This wouldn't be a problem if long range existed in most maps, but it doesnt really. Only like 1 lane maybe in most maps are even mid-range. (Still won a lot of those games tho before you go "git gud")
The only long range map easily in circulation is Widow's court.(most of you buckshot bruisers cringe at the name too, but it gets me moist) Any maps that aren't easily in circulation are Combined Arms maps. Finding that gamemode(for me at least) in the classic 6v6 playlist is like trying to get a Mythoclast, Crux of Crota, Black Hammer, and Preatorian Foil on the same Tuesday.
Who needs a primary when you have basically unlimited ammo(let's be real you wont dump all 20-ish shots you spawn with.)
All shotgunning does is promote camping, ironically enough, because nobody is going to run headlong into some buckshot unless they know they'll pop a few heads.
Universal Remote is, hands down, the best shotgun in the game right now. Party crasher? Conspiracy theory? Don't even try to argue they're better, they aren't. It's hardly the junker it says it is.
Universal Remote Issues List/TLDR
1. Too much ammo
-negates the whole point of adding special ammo crates
-ammo on spawn
2. Too much range
-out-ranges any other shotgun.
3. Rate of Fire
-It does the damage of a conspiracy theory, at the speed of a party crasher.
My proposed solution:
Wordy Version
Make Universal Remote have a slower rate of fire.(I really wouldn't mind if the range was far if it wasn't something so damn prevalent.)
If it's supposed to be the BOOM stick then just make it BOOM real hard, but real slow. Make it like the NLB where the Pump is slow, maybe not that slow, but a shotgun that powerful should have a caveat.
Because it's supposed to be a junker, why not have the gun struggle to stay together. The pumping can take a while because it falls apart a bit when you shoot it. BUT have it BOOM real good and dead the dooders.
List/TLDR version
-make ammo work like special ammo. Less starting ammo (5-10shots on initial spawn?)
-Range & Rate of Fire
One or the other has to go. Get rid of both. Uni will suck, Only one, Uni will be not OP (relative to the other guns)
Look I know a lot of you shotty users will be unhappy, but be real, is Uni V-ing really that hard? Is shotgunning even that hard? It's 95% gap closing. There is a bit of a nuance to it on a long sight line, I'll give you that, but if it's easy, it's probably pretty OP. Shadestep was easy, but now it requires a but more thinking to pull off, instead of "combat? Mash B/circle?"
I don't want any gun to disappear completely, but when some shine to bright, it glares out the rest of the guns that people want to use, but can't without sweating buckets.[
Edit: I actually enjoy talking a lot with you guys about this

Editado por Drazatis: 7/26/2016 5:32:00 PMI find that a good Party Crasher or even a decent Conspiracy Theory will outgun me with my UR; and I believe that nerfing it's ammo completely destroys the only reason it's an exotic weapon. Does it degrade special ammo crates? Yeah of course it does, with the cost of having no mid range weapon. The Universal Remote's exotic perk is practically just Rangefinder; since it's impact is less than other shotty's when it comes to pure damage, the perk just puts it on par with them. It's meant to be exotic, if we do what you propose then it might as well be a secondary; and all ammo problems you out on it must be applied to the No Lands Beyond as well. I'm not trying to trash your argument (as I do believe it fires kinda fast (don't want it to fire like how you want it to fire though)), but I see no reason to mess with it's ammo. Edit: And I certainly don't want to nerf it again, especially after we just made it useable. Titans are just starting to figure out that it does in fact do work.

I got all four of those on a Tuesday before.

4 RespuestasUR fires super slow
-
Interestingly enough could please guardians have replied informing OP that other shotguns do in fact, out range and out gun the UR quite often. However, it would seem his personal experiences in the crucible outweigh a much larger communities
-
2 Respuestasuniversal remote is nowhere near as good as a party crasher with any range perks
-
1 RespuestaSo nerf no land beyond?
-
8 RespuestasUR is a good shotgun but you are wrong.. there are plenty out there that beat it. besides if you know they have it why arent you looking for the rush??????????????????
-
5 RespuestasI call bs. The only thing anyone us using right now is last word and mida and a sniper which are always broken. Last word shouldn't even be in the game. If you cant counter shotguns after at least 3 to 4 nerfs you have your own issues. Bungie has nerfed them down for all the crybabies that get butthurt from being killed up close and personal. If they dont fix the current meta completely im leaving for bf or cod 4 without even blinking.
-
12 RespuestasFusion Rifles will beat it 9 times out of 10. Point invalid. If you have a hard time countering it, the gun doesn't need to be changed, you need to change the way you play against it.

Translation: Waaaaaaaah

10 RespuestasThen sweat buckets then... Learn to COUNTER. I don't give a -blam!- about the power of a gun. We let the developers look at the data and decide what's needing a nerf. Closing the gap is difficult with a map full of players that know you are coming. Closing the gap is difficult on a map full of snipers. Closing the gap is difficult on a map full of other players that are trying to close the gap. Adapt.

4 RespuestasI disagree with the range on this. I get out ranged by secondary shotguns often with my universal. Just like with any other situation it has its strengths and weaknesses. Any time I use it I end up switching primary before the round is complete because I've been found out and get killed before I can attack. Some games people just won't learn and let me run up and kill them.

30 RespuestasThe party crasher still outranges UR
-
4 Respuestas1. It's a primary....it's suppose to have ammo 2. Conspiracy or party crasher with correct rolls can outgun UR 3. Fairly slow firing actually

35 RespuestasEditado por But Why: 7/26/2016 1:34:23 PMIs that so? The reason UR is better than the other LEGENDARY shotguns is due to the fact it is an EXOTIC. An EXOTIC should feel that way. And the reason why it is really good and effective in extended range is due to its intrinsic perk. You are effectively removing yourself from any mid range engagement due to Specials tends to be unreliable in mid-range challenge.(unless you pair it up with a Fusion Rifle). Due to the struggle in mid range, UR will only work on CQC maps. The people who keep getting killed by UR or shotgun generally are the people who lacks Map Awareness. The reason why it has that ammo capacity is because what are you going to do when you run out of ammo? Use special? Most players already know how special are really scarce in 6v6. What are you going to do then? Go around and throw grenade and melee people? Come on man? At least acknowledge the trade-off of the weapon before trashing it. You are literally the reason why the UR is as good as it is today. The UR used to be utter shit and then all these people calls for nerf on every single thing. You brought this to yourself. Edit 1: <FACT INBOUND> -UR's archetype is absolutely terrible but -UR's intrinsic perk is essentially Rangefinder + Extra Precision shot damage (Which makes it effective at range) -People have been saying that UR has built in Shot Package which hasn't been removed on other shotguns since Y1 which is essentially wrong because the Rangefinder part of its intrinsic perk is what tighten the spread. (Rangefinder perk has been explained and confirmed by Bungie) However, an Exotic that sacrifice all of your mid range and requires good movement skills to make up for should be where it is. Edit 2: I tried to upvote your post so that more people can see and contribute to the argument but it is still way negative. Sorry i tried

I love the lack of research in these closed minded posts. If you actually look up the stats then you'd actually see that the UR has much less range than the party crasher. Yes it has a perk that grants more range and damage, but even then it's only keeping up with the party crasher. On top of that, the party crasher could have a damage perk itself to even further trump the UR. I'll provide stat links if needed, but I'd expect people to do some research before blindly blaming a weapon on their demise. The party crasher has a tighter spread, more range, more damage, stability, rate of fire, reload time, aim assist, need I go on? Not sure why people seem to over look this gun? Ah, because they don't UR, but want to use their PC.

3 RespuestasIt's certainly not an easy button. Much like the last word, if you read on here you'd think you just hold the trigger down and win???? It's irritating to see these posts even though i don't use UR. I did try it and it's not an easy button gun. Not by far. I failed miserably w it. Let me make an observation: people who excel w UR are probably good with other guns. Just a hunch. Maybe skill is what everyone truly wants nerfed? *I'm bad at pvp* just to clear that up. My stats prove I'm bad. Just made it to 1.0 recently

1 RespuestaWhy didn't you just bump your friend's post? Either way, it's here now lol
-
3 RespuestasIt's not overpowered it's over used I barely use the gun but when I did it's not as broken as everyone says the gun has functioned like this in y1
-
5 RespuestasNever had a problem against Universal Remote in this IB. The GoM put them down very quickly.
-
5 RespuestasIs there a gun people DONT complain about? Soon I'll be getting flak for using dregs promise at this rate... I'm so sick of being a scrub for using a gun I like a don't even care what you think of me anymore. I used UR last IB and did good with it, so I'm gonna keep on using it and I don't care what you whiny OP's say anymore.
-
1 RespuestaAs a sniper I think Universal Remote is fine. The problem isnt the gun. The users of the weapon think it has some insane range amd start actively and aggresively pushing for the ranged kills more than they would with legendary shotguns. What we need to do is stop getting rushed.
-
Just less ammo if anything. The range is fine, any shotgun can beat it if you're the one attacking, sliding, jumping.
-
1 RespuestaI agree, but only to some extent. The only reason I hate it is because in trials the Map this weekend was dominated by it. Snioers were alright but there is so much cover that me and my friend played titan, used juggernaut and easily skated on up to the other team. The issue is the ammo but that is unfixable in something like trials. I honestly wouldn't know a good fix lol it's just VERY op in the right situation. People CAN be good with NLB. But it is more difficult to use. I kinda wish the Chaperone and universal switched places as weapons. The Chaperone is fine how it is but if it got a fire rate nerf, and switched places with universal that would be fine

5 RespuestasNo. Here is why...... Snipers have range and ohk capabilities. Snipers usually have some high rate of fire primary like last word, hacksaw or mida. I'll just use tlw for example..... Aim with sniper at long range using radar to find the target which will always be in a lane if you miss no problem you switch to tlw and hip fire aiming at waist and let recoil find your headshot. Adding a primary shotgun allows a shotgunner to forgo range and reliably slide under tlws recoil if a shotgunner can close against the sniper rounds first. Stop trying to limit shotgun ammo to increase your chances to kill at range. Stop asking for nerfs to push me to play against your style.

It's an exotic, all exotics should be somewhat op
