How is Overwatch good and Destiny bad?
Don't start yelling at me right away. Let's be civil. I just want to know why Overwatch gets a free pass being $60(on consoles) with so little content. And Destiny doesn't? Right now for $60 you get Destiny and all its content which is tons of missions(not all great but they're there), patrols, strikes and raids. Along with the PvP which isn't as balanced but not bad. It's fun to jump in with your character and try to whoop ass. It has a good amount of maps and modes. More than Overwatch. A loot system with tons of variety, factions, other forms of reputation. Co op throughout the whole game. Tons of quests. And Overwatch has PvP only with a few modes. How is it better? The game should honestly be $20-30.

Well overwatch is a fun, lighthearted, pretty well balanced shooter with interesting characters and fun mechanics, but most importantly, it delivers what it promised. Destiny delivered almost none of what it promised, and instead everything that used to replace those promises was just...bad.

Destiny was hyped/promised more. When they were showing off the game pre release, they were talking about all these things we could do, a lot of which was removed held back for dlc. Overwatch is what they said. A multiplayer only FPS game. Also, I have destiny, not Overwatch (I love destiny though, and I thoroughly enjoyed overwatch beta).

Never played overwatch. But it seems like both have some degree of balance problems. In Destiny one class always dominated all in PvP. In 2014, it was the bladedancers. Dark Below, handcannons. The Taken King, sunbreakers. And Bungie holds on to pier to pier servers in 2016?! Why??? The lag comp is terrible.... it often causes misaps like you unloading a full clip into someone and they can still one hit you. And don't get me started on how quickscopers invaded PvP from CoD when all shotguns became worthless. PvE gets boring really fast and raids suck since no one is willing to help you 1000 times just so you win against a random number generator. And finally, just the fact that Activision published it. Anything they touch gets ruined. Period.

Both lack content. However Overwatch delivered what it promised to, and it did it well. Destiny delivered a fraction of what it promised and still, even that fraction was in no way outstanding.

Like I said before, short range of characters to choose from, and bad interaction with fans and criticism. Blizzard actually LISTENED to their fans when they gave criticism. And although Destiny did the same, they buffed or nerfed things too much, which ended in more complaints. Also, they didn't release the full game on said release date. They released a short game and added 60 or 40 dollar dlc's throughout the year. Finally, they made a huge mistake by waiting for SO LONG just for another DLC to be announced (Lords of Iron) which won't even be as big as the other ones because Destiny 2 will be released in early 2017, but knowing Bungie and Activision, they'll still release a collector's edition Lords of Iron box which some fanboy like DattoDoesDestiny will get, or also knowing Bungie they may hold off Destiny 2 till mid or late 2017.

2 RespuestasIt all comes down to what games were made for: fun! Most people I've asked have said they simply couldn't put down Overwatch, and I agree. Destiny isn't terrible, but doesn't have that same "just one more game" appeal imo.

They gave us the beta (which was practically the entire game) and it showed exactly what would be in the game, with free add ons to follow. Destiny promised "rich cinematic storytelling" that we never recieved. They also gave us part of the game in the beta so we honestly didn't know what to expect. The game became a let down for most people, with extremely annoying replay value (RNG) as well as meh, unbalanced multiplayer. While people may try to point out that Overwatch's RNG is annoying (which it can be), it has excellent replay value for most people because its multiplayer is competitive, and there are 21 heroes (with more to come) that you can practice on mastering. Its dedicated servers are a bonus as well. People will also try to say that it's unbalanced, but Blizzard made it perfect so that every hero has multiple counters. All in all, Overwatch gave what they promised, Destiny didn't.

I enjoyed destiny after it's first two dlc. Buy before that, before it's release, we were promised something different than what was delivered. While for Overwatch, what we were told was what we got. Now who you ask which is better depends on the person you ask. In my opinion, destiny was worth all of the money I put into it, 130 dollars (I purchased it in June of 2015. That was a better experience than what I got during the launch month, which had me stop playing because it did not have much content and too much repetition) Overwatch is not worth the 80-90 dollars, at least for me. I feel like I played the entire game during the beta, which is what it was.

Many characters which vastly change the way you play the game. $60 gets you the whole game. Destiny - Sold to us half finished after a year long delay, promising to have so much and has next to nothing. The story is a jumbled mess and the only way to make heads or tails of it is through out of game cards. Key, fan favorite employees got canned because they spoke against Activision. Buggy, and has a PvP connection over dedicated servers. Three characters that are basically the same with the smallest of differences. In order to get something close to the full game, you needed to pay well over $120.

All of the content that is in Overwatch is so quality though, each map is designed specifically for one game mode, 21 different heroes that play completely different from each other, plus all updates with new game modes, maps, and heroes will be completely free... Activision would never allow that. Destiny's Expansion Pass doesn't even get you all of the expansions. Destiny is NOW $60 2 years later, but if you bought all Destiny content when it released it would be upwards of $100.

5 RespuestasThe $60 price point is mostly based on the promise of future content. If a game with this amount of content had released ten years ago, there would be an uproar as gamers were accustomed to receive fully realized games at launch.

I'm not a super big fan of over watch but I am of destiny. But speaking about over watch. I'd much rather have a game with a decent amount of content, then a giant game like fallout 4 with a map to small for the amount of content in the game. If ya know what I'm saying.

This is why Free dlc Forever. Its just like Halo The reason this is a better game is because its a multiplayer only experience that promises just that. And the fact that it stays at 60fps with dedicated servers , little to no lag, and every hero can be countered makes it ESL worthy, which a lot of console and PC players can get behind. Also, blizzard didn't lock content to force feed us just to make an extra buck only to be incompetent in said dlc
