I'm solely a PVP player and will for the most part avoid PVE at all costs. Up until a few days ago I hadn't done a single nightfall or a single raid in year 2, but with the April update I found my light level lacking in trials and iron banner being stuck at 312 so I thought I'd give the raid a shot, it couldn't be that hard I'd done over 100 raids in year one and achieved flawless raider in VOG way before dark below dropped.
But my experience in LFG and the forums was astounding, multiple times kicked from parties because I don't have touch of malice, exotic swords, black spindle or the sleeper or just due to low light level/lack of experience. I finally managed to jump in an experienced team for a hard challenge mode run by offering a trials flawless carry in return and even though they knew how the raid worked and I didn't I still got almost double anyone else's kills.
What truly amazed me was how happy they were at oryx that I was able to kill the Knights consistently so quickly while often someone would have trouble and call for help... Really how hard is it to headshot a knight once that spawns in the exact same place every damn time?
My point is anyone who's done the raid a couple of times SHOULD be smashing it out like a pro every time after, that's not skill it just means you're not an idiot and can remember a simple strategy. Obviously there's exceptions when you start soloing or going for flawless raider but simply beating the same raid the same way 3 times every week isn't impressive and it certainly must get boring. I also feel any decent PVP player could quickly transition into a great PVE player with little effort, and I doubt the same would be true in reverse.
Im bored at work and wrote this to provoke some entertaining abuse
All lies. PvE is the hardest thing about this game. My raid group would destroy the best trials team in patrol

2 RespuestasIm 334 with no oryx kill

I haven't done a raid in ages either. The last raid i did was vog, and only until I got the fatebringer. Yesterday, I tried going into kingsfall with some people from the forums. We had fun times, wiped a lot, but who cares? Still, I prefer playing pvp, pve is too repetitive for me
-
To add killing the 1st and 2nd knight is easy. The 3rd one is difficult due to the fact a good runner already will have the spark before the 3rd ogres dead. Therefore everyone is running to the middle before the 3rd knight even spawns. I've done this raid enough and have sherpa'd full groups of newbies through it multiple times. Its easy as long as you do your job. Most kills mean very little here.
-
No, I've never raided, it's the sheer amount of time it takes and I would just give up after dying so often, that fears embrace thing on Phobos is a bitch, I still haven't completed that after too many deaths to mention, I mean that ones a bastard.

I noticed every time I raid now were walking anyone 325 and below through it. If they are below 325 and know how to do it, it's usually their alt.

Not today! 🐟

Editado por What I Look Like: 5/12/2016 2:09:47 PMDefinitely b8, getting the most kills means nothing in a raid.. at least where the objective is concerned. I don't think that PvP transitions into PvE the way you see it either, honestly. Really just depends on the person holding the controller. This is coming from someone who doesn't raid too often, if at all.

1 RespuestaUnderneath the sarcasm and bait of the post there is a hint of truth in it. You're a sneaky one OP.
-
You're trying to bait ppl......whatever. This is what separates PvE from PvP players. You state that you had more kills than most other players. Doing a raid is about teamwork and helping everyone on the team. How many orbs did you create for your teammates? How many enemies did you leave for another teammate so that they could create orbs for everyone. How were your communication skills? When my fireteam runs a raid we don't give 2 shits about who killed the most enemies or who had the most damage on the bosses. As long as we can complete it quickly and efficiently who cares about individual numbers?
-
You're good because you practice. The more you run something, the better you get. Or at least that's my experience. I suck at PvP, period. There are a plethora of better players than myself and I accept it. So, I've made an effort to not run Iron Banner. Until this most recent one. I wanted to get higher level gear and couldn't get a team for the raid. So I gave Iron Banner a try. And I didn't do terribly, I didn't do great but I did much better than I've ever done in Crucible. I finished with a 50% win-lose ratio and a KD of 0.9 something. And I've done well in Crucible since, above 0.7 KD in every match and more wins than loses.

1 RespuestaIve seen players around 310 light before the update who didnt have a clue how to do court of oryx. And others who dismantled their swords 'cos it was only 220' and didnt know about infusion, and then ask how to get the exotic sword quest. the worst players to have in a raid are the 'solo' guys, who dont look at what their team mates are doing and help cover in case of mistakes. they are normally the ones who leave after the first wipe

Damn these scrubs sure like their pve

Editado por Bob: 5/12/2016 2:07:45 PMI mean...if you raid then you are good..at doing the raid.... Edit: just an FYI, when I host raids. I always do it with randoms. and my statement on the LFG site is this "need x for raid" I never post anything about light level or anything. I always get decent people though.

4 RespuestasI hope you kept your word and carried them in trials.

1 RespuestaMost all the legit raiders dont even do them anymore. Youre catching the scrubs that have finally just started farming it thanks to the bungie increased light level. Legit raiders were beating the shit day of/or after release. Then we went on to farm it every week for weeks/months. But this was 6 months ago and a long time ago (yeah the content is that -blam!-ing old) Dont judge raiders by the current filth that does them

I know this is bait. But part of me thinks that you really are an elitist douchebag. Woo, you're good at PvP, so you can go join random raid groups and waste their time/get carried through challenge mode. Just because someone can play Trials/Crucible/Iron Banner does not mean they can just jump into a raid with no foreknowledge and be fine. Whether you like it or not, we all took the time to get Touch of Malice, Black Spindle, Exotic Swords, etc. The most hardcore raiders among us immediately leveled them up to 335, to make the raid faster and more efficient. Having those weapons is a sign of commitment and dedication. No, they aren't a strict requirement for raiding, but if I'm putting together a team of randoms, I would be much more inclined to take a 320+ player with a ToM and BS over a 312 with a 310 1KYS or whatever other bullshit you think is good enough. Like other people have said, do normal mode first. Start where we all started. I was doing the raid that first Friday it came out. I worked my way up, before Trials even came to year two. You may be baiting people into responding, but either way. You're an ass. Go back to PvP, nobody wants you on their raid team. -
4 RespuestasWhat really disgusted me about this was that you had the audacity to jump right into a hm challenge mode KF and hadn't even played the raid before. That is problem with people like you. You may have been a special case because you can pick up stuff quickly, but most people don't. I'm interested in how long it took your group to complete the raid? Anything more than 2 hours and you wasted everyone's time. You should have went and learned the raid in normal mode first, and then found a group for hardmode. Or watched videos on YouTube about the mechanics. Is it really that hard for people to do this? I'll never understand the mindset that people that have never done the raid think that just because they have a high enough light, they can just join a group for hm. Learn the mechanics, then play it like everyone else had to do in normal mode. Some people will call me an elitist, but I and many other players just don't have the time to run three six-hour long raids each week. If you can't find a group to join. Make your own. Don't waste people's time because you feel you can do the raid without any experience. Unfortunately, light level does not determine skill anymore. All the scrubs who have never been high enough light for end game content are now, and think that just because they are they can join hm groups. Stop it. Learn the raid in nm first like everyone else and don't ask to be carried.

What gear did you get?

4 RespuestasI tend to die a lot in pve just because I get bored and try rushing them, forgetting that they out number me by a lot! Lol I hate that the majority of the pve content now favours sitting back and sniping... It's just so dull! Though don't get me wrong, if I'm doing a raid I tend to be the last one standing (if you're about to die, don't just stand still!).

This guy lied about carrying them in Trials

It takes more than a couple of attempts to get raiding down. There's a multitude of duties (hahaha doodies), and the constant need for consistency. If someone dies (which happens quite often) you need to know how to cover them if you don't want to continously wipe. I much prefer raids to PvP these days... the crucible has become a cesspool for whiners and tryhards. Now I am not saying that I am "better" than most, but I do understand the game mechanics quite well

Nice b8. Nobody's dumb enough to only play pvp in this game
