How to get hatemail in patrol......
Sit down in front of a Cabal major (or any enemy major) spawn point.
I was called a c*** for doing just that, and when I told the person to calm down a bit with the language he proceeded to call more a c*** again.
Some people just don't relish that this is just a GAME.
Anyone else get hate mail for something stupid?
Edit: So a lot of people are either failing to see the point of the post or fall into the same category as the person who sent me the message.
For starters: when I real life issues comes along that I have to quickly take care of, I am not going to put the game first. If that means I interfere in some way with someone else but accident, then so be it.
But the point of the post: there is ZERO need for swearing at random people who you don't know what their doing. I was NOT being a troll on purpose, and I moved out of the area the moment I got back and people started doing their runs or what ever once again. No one else at the time cared except for one guy who got really ruffled.
But hey, I guess a lot of people on these forums are quick to judge, result to name calling or agree with the statement that I am a c*** because I put my son before a video game.
Go ahead, continue with your salty, misguided keyboard bashing. It is rather enjoyable to see how many of you are so quick to judge and it is truly sad.
Remember, it is a VIDEO GAME... you guys judging me need to understand that.
Edit 2: This community is disgusting. Now you guy's believe that the only reason I mentioned my son was to use him as an excuse for my douchebag behaviour? When the reality is not one of you knows what's going on in my personal life and therefore not one of you guys can make an assumption like that.
This community sickens me, getting all high and mighty, name calling and defensive attitudes... over a video game. That is so sad.

Why were you even sitting in front of the spawn in the first place? To be an asshole? Let me put it this way. It's a GAME. Most people have LIVES they need to get to and only have so much time to play. Why are you wasting their time on purpose and making them go to orbit and come back just so they can get those major kills? Seriously pathetic...

You do realize that it takes 4 seconds to go to orbit right? I am married with two kids and yeah life does get in the way of my gaming. Here is the funny thing, that when life needs you quickly, press button to bring out your ghost and go to orbit! You can do this while you get up out of your chair and running to the even that is calling you from the destiny world! Also those who sent the hate mail and swearing up a storm, easy solution, go to orbit and back! You will get a different lobby of players where the person who is afk will not be there! Seriously it is a video game not real life!

1. Just as he didn't know your situation, you don't know his. Perhaps he was working on a bounty or maybe only has short time to play on a given night, or maybe he was just having "one of those days". 2. Perhaps instead saying "calm down", you apologized and briefed him on your situation, he may have understood and not been "that guy". For the above reasons, you're no better than him and certainly not the victim.

You could have just as easily gone to orbit if you had something to do and we're going to be away. Sitting in a spawn denying other players enemies is a douche thing to do regardless of the reason.

3 RespuestasYou should of iterated the reason for going afk in your first post. Nobody likes afk's period. That being said, you have my sympathies. I have kids too and yes sudden real life stuff can come up which cannot be avoided. Me and the wife were about to start a rift match last night when a full blown emergency erupted (a poop. A giant poop. Like mother of god stuff) and we didn't have time to go to orbit. Suffice to say our team lost because we had to afk. It happens so don't worry about it too much. If you're new to the forums I just wanted to let you know that posts will be shit on for stuff like this. Most people aren't as understanding as me here. Hell I think this may be the nicest thing I've ever said anyone here. I need my meds now. Bye! :)
