So what is the truth Sols?
If the truth of what was said between you and cozmo, is infact so private and none of my business...will the "truth" be told in your "truth" podcast? Or will it be none of anyone's business?
Why are you trying to hide the truth like bungie?...surely you are not bound by any contract with bungie, are you?

Editado por UltraNoahXV: 5/5/2016 4:18:40 AMLet me answer this question for him, if I may interrupt. 1. The "truth" (where ever this is or found) could spoil future content for Destiny and other future content. Would you like a DLC to be announced for it not to be out for another year? (Example). 2. The other answer is none of your business, like you said. Cozmo may have give Sols information that could be classified. My guess is probably internal strife or maybe company problems at Bungie, he doesn't have tell us that. Sorry if I misread your question by the way.
-
Thanks for your respectable response, but I'd rather hear from Sols. If what was discussed to Sols by cozmo was infact classified or secret...it brings up more questions as to why "classified" or secret info was given to a non bungie employee?
-
Because of trust reasons. If I may recall, one of Sols's post stated had a response stating that him and Cozmo played together like they were friends. I would assume from this reason that Sols didn't bombard Cozmo with questions about Bungie, rather talked about their lives and what they be up to. This can leaded to bonding, which increase a relationship in any area. (Which leads to trust). Eventually, Cozmo and Sols had a bond of trust over time that expanded. This may also lead to Cozmo trusting Sols with valuable information due to that trust. He chooses no one else because of that bond and due to trust. Now, why just Lost Sols, my assumption is that he is kind of the big head on feedback. Along with Carnival Law, Stevenson, RedWingGirl, and a few others I may have missed, they have presented feedback, both positive and negative, from the beginning in a polite manner. Not with Yelling stuff (Nerf this) and insulting bungie or just only pointing at negative stuff. And sure, there are other's that do this, but they are rare and you don't see them quite as often. That is how Cozmo interacts with other people. As a community manager, he has to read these post from time and again, and when ever he can, play this game with other people and hear their view on the game. And he does very often. (Which leads back to the first and second paragraph.) Sorry for the long answer. You may want to find spare time to read this. Kind of hard to implement and TL:DR for this response.

When people become friends it is part of human nature, probably subconsciously, not to say or do anything that you know will upset your friend. This is all fine and good between 'equals' but it can become problematic and lead to accusations of hypocrisy, selling out etc, however unjust, when that friendship is between people who have different agendas. It is Cozmos role, in part at least, to interact with the whole of the community, present our views to the developers and importantly to present Bungie and Destiny in as good a light as possible. They are after all paying his salary. Now the forums are a place where people can present their feedback about Destiny good and bad but it is not our role to do a PR job for Destiny. I see lots of excellent articulate posts on this forum which seem to gain no traction whatsoever because Cozmo does not respond to them. These are posts without personal attacks and bad language. He appears to me, perhaps wrongly, on the whole to be quite selective about the people to whom he does respond with certain ones being more favoured than the majority. Is this down to his friendship with those people or because he respects their views. This is where the lines become very blurred and why I feel that a distance must be maintained Whilst we are all looking to improve Destiny and its future iterations as much as possible we are doing so from 'opposite' ends. It is important to maintain a friendly working relationship with Bungie in order to achieve this. However, it is just as important not to cross that invisible line where others can accuse that friendship of coming in the way of justifiable criticism. I am not suggesting that Sols has ever done this but you can see how this could be levied at him. I have always had a lot of respect for Sols views but am a bit dismayed at this juncture

I didn't tell him any secrets. Just hanging out playing some Destiny.

Sorry but I think that this was a bad mistake because of impartiality issues

Editado por KrazyM82: 5/5/2016 11:25:40 AMMany questions come to mind, since you replied. I'll start with a couple. How does a company come to the decision to pull the crap that bungie has with the obvious bait and switch of E3 2013 to what was released in 2014? I understand your role to take feedback to the devs, but don't you think that your job should include bringing feedback to those who give feedback. Shouldn't it be a 2 way door? More specifically bringing feedback to your customers in the forums, here, and not a third party site like twitter or an lfg site? More specific than that, more than just "I'll bring that up to the devs" and then silence?
How does a company come to the decision to pull the crap that bungie has with the obvious bait and switch of E3 2013 to what was released in 2014?
Despite the fact that there are numerous reports from the same semi-credible source that shit went tits-up after E3, rather than it being deliberate.

I'd rather hear from the horses mouth the debacle known as destiny and bungie in the process.

Editado por Smithy: 5/5/2016 10:25:58 PM"Hey guys we toooootally -blam!-ed up and hand to duck tape everything together. Soz" -- something you'll never hear a studio say. EDIT: Mainly because who cares. It changes nothing.

Almost never...but those that do...earn TONS of respect from their player base. As opposed to LOOSING TONS of respect and loyalty.

It just doesn't happen when the issue is on this scale.
-
Imo...it would be the only thing that would get some of their player base back. Though the damage is done and is too great. Too bad they didn't listen to Joe Staten. I think things would have been A LOT better.

Editado por Smithy: 5/6/2016 1:44:13 AM
Imo...it would be the only thing that would get some of their player base back. Though the damage is done and is too great.
Yes, I'm sure the players who stopped playing, because they didn't like playing, would come back if Bungie explicitly gave the implied reason for why the game is not as good as it could be, despite the fact that many people's gripes most likely would have still existed.
Too bad they didn't listen to Joe Staten. I think things would have been A LOT better.
Which's nice to think, but there's no basis. George Lucas wrote the Original Trilogy. He also wrote the prequels. How do you know Staten didn't face something similar? I'm not saying I wouldn't love to know, but we can have the whole "the original would've been so much better!!!11~~`!" argument all day.

I'd bet my next paycheck, the Supercut was better.

Editado por gallp13: 5/5/2016 10:02:42 AMWhat gets adjusted in the game is our feedback. Don't like what's in the game ..... summarise what is wrong for you and explain how you want it changed. If enough folks support your view Coz will take it forward just like he has been doing. If the devs see merit they will put it in game .... just like they have been doing. If the devs think the idea lacks merit or is not achievable it won't go in game .... again as they have been doing. See we have always had our feedback :)

Editado por KrazyM82: 5/5/2016 11:22:25 AMI disagree. Many issues like dedicated servers or lag in pvp and pve or more vault space or a story or actual penalties for those that cheat in pvp with lag switches/modded controllers or fixes to TDB and other raids or optional matchmaking or fixes to the obvious BS rng...have gone unnoticed. Weapon nerfs have only yielded more weapon nerfs which have made the weapons even more unbalanced with each nerf. Which by the way should have been figured out by, DAY 1! And Where's the reply from the devs about the feedback?...should feedback be a 1 way street or a 2 way? So, imo, our feedback is a watered-down version of what should be and only highlights how this game is still a beta and how bungie is waiting for enough complaints if any, to address those issues in a very minimalistic way like they addressed making this minimum viable product to begin with in the first place. Thanks for the reply...but I'm waiting for cozmos. Though, I'm not holding my breath.
-
Cozmo will never reply to you. For a long time I thought that he was good for Bungie.net and even commented to that effect numerous times. I have recently had a change of heart, because he mainly replies to a limited selection of people, with the odd sop thrown in to keep the rest of us happy.
-
Well he did reply to one of my posts, but only to defend his friend, lost sols. I know he doesn't have the balls to answer my questions.
-
At this stage not surprised at all lol

I hate having two comment threads with the same person, but since I noticed:
Many issues like dedicated servers or lag in pvp and pve or more vault space or a story or actual penalties for those that cheat in pvp with lag switches/modded controllers
-blam!- off. Seriously. Fixes don't grow on trees, and that's ignoring the fact that all of them have been addressed in some form or another.
