Bungie. A perfect example of why the original raids need a comeback.
For those who aren't aware, there was a huge leak in the Call of Duty scene today.
"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare"
Now, it's no secret that cod has been struggling to make a decent game since Black Ops 1. Numbers don't lie, and damn have they gone down as far as launch sales go.
People on the forums like to say "leave the past in the past", but let me kick you a scenario.
Let's say there was an additional leak about a remastered Call of Duty 4 being included with every Infinite Warfare Purchase. Everyone that's played call of duty for years will have no trouble denying call of duty 4 is a masterpiece in gaming, and set the standard for fps games we play today.
Let's say that when both of leaks came out, only one game actually began trending on Twitter. you guessed it,
COD4
Many cod fans have seriously been wondering what's taken these numbskulls so long to figure out what we want, and it seems they're finally delivering, and would you look at that, cods popularity spiked on Twitter today because of one game. the nostalgic cod4, not just because of nostalgia, but because it's clearly superior to the shit stain cods we've been getting for 4+ years. why leave the past in the past, when the past is superior and highly demanded? I don't want to leave cod4 in the past, now that I know it's coming back I crave some cod4 game play.
now I move to my point. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice how surperior the original raids are to kings fall, and even if you think Crota is subpar or short, you can't deny the loot isn't way better.
now a kinderguardian or taken tot might say,
"the loot is op, wah wah wah kings fall saved destiny from its op weapons"
isn't the point of end game loot actually feeling endgame when you acquire these items? kings fall weapons suck dong. you should feel powerful and a little op after completing the games FINAL ACTIVITIES. that's the whole goddamn point.
so why leave the past in the past, when the past is clearly better? destiny will spike in numbers man, we just want OUR game back, all year one weapons.
and get rid of these nerfs on ice breaker, black hammer, and gjally for christs sake. the "op" you idiots speak of is half the fun. bungie tried to focus too much on balance in the taken King, and while I agree a little balance is good, it can be game breaking. not a single person on this game gives two shits about any of the endgame loot or playing kings fall. because it isn't FUN. do you want more balance, or to actually have fun playing again? lmao
stop leaving the superior gameplay locked away at year one levels and the gear nerfed to shit, and still locked away?!

2 RespuestasI understand the fun part i really do but they nerfed those becuase the bosses in strikes were dead after a heavy synth and instead of killing the boss by sitting with a black hammer and killing the boss in the same time as gjally i think thyre more fun because we dont just kill the boss instantly but yeah i agree with most of this post

I completely agree. This coming from someone who used to do both raids every week, NF and weeklies. I stopped raiding when TTK came out and have done exactly one NF since. The lack of elemental primaries, simple as that. Took some of that "fun factor" away, that feeling of being able to kick everythings ass because YOU were the baddest mofo in the room. You raided a bunch, got some good guns and you wreck shit in pve. Tgat;s why you grind, to feel OP(as you stated above) Stop nerfing pve due to pvp. Separate the two entirely and bring back y1 stuff, i believe you'd see a LOT more people playing and i doubt you'd hear pve players calling for nerfs. Black hammer, ghally? Since when did fun become synonymous with "broken"??? I hate that term on here, lol........yea, it's a bit annoying Bump.

As long as 4 people know what they're doing in VoG, you're golden. The problem with KF is EVERYONE has to know what they're doing. The only thing that made VoG tough is not getting overwhelmed by adds and not getting sniped by the hobs. The only thing that makes KF tough is having sh*tty teammates. The skill is more in shot selection and knowing how to keep everyone spread out just right in VoG. King's Fall makes those parts super easy, but everyone has to do their job. Good people are no more help than bad people, and you're only as strong as your weakest link. That's a mistake. A fun raid is one that is doable by just compensating for a bad player with a very good player.

MW wasn't a masterpiece of gaming that set standards, halo 1 and 2 did. They really kickstarted the whole genre.

2 RespuestasTo add to your post: Kings Fall doesn't have a weapon to grind the raid for, a la Vex Mythoclast, Fatebringer, VoC, etc. All King's Fall is, is infusion material.

I just shed a tear thinking of our beloved COD4. Oh, how I long to play the craziness of Shipment again. The folks who think that Nuketown is crazy never took part in the chaos that occurred in Shipment. Imagine a map 1/3 the size of Nuketown with no buildings. I was a COD fanboy but the last 3 CODs (Ghost--worst game of all-time, Advanced Warfare-2nd worst, Blops3--not much better) forced me to give up on my favorite franchise. Now if they can give us COD 4 (or even my all-time favorite World at War) then I would be all-in again. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. But yeah, bring back a Year 2 version of VOG please, without the Taken.

CE is kinda lackluster but it's a hell of a good time, just join up with some randos and have a few laughs for an hour, and be on your way, whereas KF is much more difficult not because of raid mechanics, but because of the shitstorm of obnoxiousTaken enemies.

No, they moved forward that's what you're supposed to do never forget always remember what happened but move forward. Now lore based technically they can't update old raids because those enemies are already dead Atheon sure break in the time space continuum and BOOM he's back if you put me in another hive raid/DLC I will castrate you in front of your children.. The arena is only acceptable because the taken took it over [spoiler]taken tooken heh (; [/spoiler] that's why it even had a chance to come back in the first place. Just look at PC games there are games out on PC that wasn't supposed to last a year but they're still making mods TO THE DAY sky rim WoW hell even minecraft mods for Christ sake and the developers have already made sequels while they're staying and refurbishing they're own fun because they don't want to move forward they liked that game where it was and wanted to make slight adjustments here and there *destiny cough cough* hate to say it but put this game on PC and watch what those nerds can do to it (; [spoiler]no offense nerds[/spoiler] Do I think destiny is moving in the right direction? 60/40 fix the lag the servers and the match making issues and give me my damn cabal raid and we're golden Idc about dance emotes sparrow racing (wasn't bad but we essentially were just beta testers for two weeks) give me something to chase something to grind for so I feel more fulfilled when I achieve that milestone. But DO NOT re hash old content instead of giving me something new. Re hashed archon priest pissed, but they gave me malok re hashed PoE but gave me new grimoire cards and updated oryx deal. I think everyone else needs to just move forward it happened smile about it remember it but move forward. It's like parents who never want those kids to grow up but they do so they take pictures in advance because they know it's bound to happen I suggest you do the same because I don't see old raids coming back without something dramatic happening. The oryx raid is pretty fun if you have a group that communicates and it's better than crota and to me equal with VoG But I definitely agree that they need to make all gear infusable so we can play those raids A quick fix would just be to remove the burns..

Here's something that you and many others clearly don't understand; it's not the fact that they aren't bring them back because of stubbornness or not getting our point of them being of great quality, it's the fact that they do not tie in to the current story in any way, except the Last Rites mission. Yes, Destiny lacks a lot of story, but we know why we assaulted the Dreadnaught, and how the raid stemmed from that. CE and HoW did the same thing. Their end game pertained to the current story. As far as the previous raid's loot, we were under a completely different leveling system then compared to now, so it only made sense for those weapons to be of great quality. KF weapons and armor are specific to the raid and the Taken, as they should be. If any of the Y1 end game that should be brought forward, it's VoG. IIRC, there was only one reference of it in the entire Vanilla Destiny storyline. Expanding upon this could be an entire DLC or Expansion in itself, but I would make that raid completely different with new areas and new bosses. I understand you point about bring quality content forward, but what's the point of developers working to create new and progressive content, if all we were to do was play the old stuff. It's counter productive. The last thing I'll leave you with is, Bungie didn't take the older content from us. It's still there. We the players consider it irrelevant because it doesn't offer any progression. That's a barrier created by us, and one that Bungie shouldn't feel obligated to kick down. Whatever happens to playing content because it's fun? There are tons of ways to progress now without having to bring old raids forward.
