  • He leads because he understands the media. He jabbers and japes, and let's face it, Americans love a sideshow. Will he get in? Well, we did elect Nixon. Will it be the END OF THE WORLD? No, but it won't be pleasant. The man may have a head for business(his bankruptcies and defaulted creditors notwithstanding), but politics is another game. And considering his tendency to shoot his mouth off at the slightest provocation, I can't wait to see what Kim Jong Un provokes from him.

  • Things won't be any different either way. It's not like the position actually accomplishes anything. If he's elected it won't be on his own or by his own financing. He will simply be a puppet and mouthpiece for the behind scenes operators. Depending on what agendas need pushed and who is owed what will determine what gets done.

It's sad.... I mean truly and utterly sad...... But look at all the candidates....... Now try and tell me any of them are a good pick....... It's sad but understandable why he is leading he's the most well known among all the runners plus he has the funding to publicize the shit out of himself.... And remember any publicity is good publicity. Also when it comes time to voting and a mass Majority of voters are young college students mainly voting because they are now of age are doing so simply because they can. I'm willing to bet 3/4 will not know what they are voting for they will just look at the names and "Trump" will stick out like a sore thumb and most will vote based off of that. It's sad the current state of affairs but it is what it is....

      • I don't like him. But I like Clinton less still. It really comes down to the lesser of all evils for elections now. As a realist though he could be the bad guy we need. It's not all black and white.

A lot of people pretend to hate him because it's the cool thing to do, but secretly want him in office. I think he's a riot, almost like a cartoon character, but he's not presidential. If there was a way to give him a presidential contract with a 90 day probationary period, I'd do it just to see how crazy he really is, and then I'd pull the plug on the experiment. I feel the same way about Bernie Sanders.

                • Clinton is an idiot. None of the other Republican candidates are good enough for me to like them. All Sanders wants to do is SPEND MONEY, when America is already 19 trillion dollars in debt..and rising, by the way. Yeah. I'm voting for Trump. Bite me.

                  • I sit open mouthed when watching the news coming in from America. This guy is planning to demand a wall across an entire country?! Not only this he is demanding that the country he is trying to segregate pays the billions it will cost to build this ridiculous wall. When one of their politicians said how stupid this was, Trump's reaction was to announce that the wall just got 10' taller?!? A president of a nation built on immigration being so heinous to immigrants is totally insane. Don't get me wrong, as with all elections, every candidate had their problems, but this guy?!? People saying things like, "America needs to grow balls". No America needs to use their vast intelligence. You can't go into countries starting wars to wipe out threats. Not that he will, but if Trump wins the next election you will find America becomes more and more isolated as their allies distance themselves from this disaster.

                    • I'm preparing my nuclear shelter just in case.. Just kidding. If Trump becomes president there will be no chaos since he is already being in the establishment which has started when christie joined him. Little by little more senators and congressmen will flock to him, "corrupting" him with their needs. In the end we can expect more deficit, cuts in the public services and more people in jails. He isn't a pro war since all of speeches are based in the country and not outside. Maybe a few diplomatic backlash but not much.

                    • If Donald trump becomes president OUR country WILL become a reality tv show. Just imagine living abroad and all of a sudden you see some obvious Americans with cameras following them arguing and fighting. Not with words but fighting with fists. That's how a lot of the world sees the USA. As ignorant, privileged dipshits. Privileged for no reason at all.

When considering historical economic patterns, deregulation of big business is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, contributions to the increase in wealth inequality in the US. While not broadly discussed nowadays, many politicians still support the "trickle-down" economic ideology. This idea, that increasing the upper class' wealth will effectively increase the wealth of the less wealthy, has been proven ineffective with its current implementation, for the immensely wealthy are not investing their profits, including money earned via tax cuts and tax benefits, into the US economy. Instead they are storing their profits in banks overseas, and the vast majority of funding invested in business goes towards outsourcing to reduce production costs. Because of excessive outsourcing, middle-class American employees have lost most of their bargaining rights and are now far more disposable. Because of this, they've had to settle with stagnating wages while the cost of living increased throughout the past few decades. This trend is continuing even today. Wealth inequality has been growing significantly since the massive push for tax cuts for the upper class and deregulation of business during the Reagan administration. Tax rates for the wealthy were cut from over 70% to 50%, and tax cuts continued with each administration afterwards. At this time, the wealthy are supposed to be paying approximately 35% in taxes. Effectively, they are paying 20% and less. Mitt Romney's tax information was released the other year, showing that he effectively payed 15% in taxes. Comparing wealth inequality with tax cuts has revealed a proportional relationship between the two. For those demonizing Sanders because he is a "socialist," Sanders is still quite capitalistic. Socialism is simply an economic system in which the government has control of commerce and services provided to the public. While the United States is perhaps the most capitalist nation on Earth, it is not entirely capitalist. If it were to be, no regulation of business would occur, period, and socialized services, that is, "social services" such as the police department, fire department, and public education, would not be provided by government and funded by taxpayer money and instead be privately owned. On the socialist/capitalist spectrum, Sanders is still very capitalist. In fact, he would be considered moderate in many Western European nations. While he is capitalist like all of the other candidates he's running against, Sanders is slightly more socialist. He wishes to instill greater regulation, not complete control, upon big business so that the money the wealthy are investing outside the US economy may be truly "trickle down" to the middle and lower classes.
