So the elite players got their own way again.
Just read Deej's latest post and it seems that skill based match making is out the window in favour of connection based.
I've been trying to get my friends into playing some pvp recently as they hated it last year. They are still finding their feet, trying to discover what guns to use etc, and now here they are about to get demolished and demoralised one again.
Why?
Because, as usual, Bungie only listen to their friends and the elite Twitch steamers.
I've read many threads by these people complaining about how their games are a grind now that they are matched up to people of equal skills and how they DEMAND to be able to go into a match and just enjoy themselves by destroying all they see.
People complained about the lag. I'm not sure I noticed a massive difference to be truthful. All I ask is for my weapons to cause the same damage as others using the same thing.
As usual, we'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but it's getting to the tipping point now fellas. Carry on pandering to the minority and you will finally finish this game for the people who pay your bills.
Edit: To the people who are asking how a noob can get better if (s)he's not being challenged by going against good players.
Answer me this. By your own logic, how can good players get better if they are going up against noobs?
Surely playing people of similar and slightly better ability is what you are looking for.
Do you really think shooting fish in barrels improves your angling skills?
Second edit: well, I still have a good memory of all the whining that occurred prior to SBMM happening. The amount of hated directed to bungie at every iron banner.
It would appear from reading the comments that red bars was never an issue during CBMM.
I hope you all remember this thread when it goes back. Can't wait for all these no red bar, no lag games during next week's IB.
Let's just see shall we.

So you and your friends don't like crucible because it's to hard? You'd rather play ppl around your skill lvl constantly? Well good news the SBMM doesn't work. I went 20-1 in an IB match yesterday. Check my K/D over the last 5 games and look at how I did yesterday. And tell me it matched me up with ppl of the same skill as me. I had to literally give up on blind watch map so my clan mates could get the top score bounty done for IB. I sat in our spawn and did nothing.. I even ran headfirst into the other team a few times just to fall lower on the scoreboard. And the biggest issue is in trials because connection based MM is out the window, you get ppl with potato modems in Nigeria and end up getting themselves and you booted and everyone gets a loss. I dropped $400 between my router and modem. Why do I deserve a loss for that? Is that fair to me? Do you know how frustrating it is to be 8-0 in trials and get ppl with shit connection and lose that last match because of something not "skill based" I.e. Internet connection? The SBMM is not a good idea and anyone with half a brain knows that. Sit down and stop complaining about "elites" maybe if you played ppl better than you more you might be elite.

SBMM negates any player stats and their accomplishments. What good is the Lighthouse if you suck, but everyone you play just sucks a little more? What good is kdr and other player stats if you only play people at your skill? Everybody has a 1.0 kdr and 1.0 w/L ratio. Wooptie fckin doo.

I do agree with you. But that said I have had pretty good matches anyway this iron banner. Almost all of them were pretty competitive.

Well are you happy sbmm is still in the game and 5000 responses in the matchmaking post by deej this week. Everyone hates it. You are in the slim minority. And for the record nobody held my hand in this game as I got good at crucible. Scrubs playing scrub lords forever isn't going to make you better either

Do what i did and just leave the game to play something much better. Pretty sure there are atleast another few million people who did the same aswell. They failed to do anything good in 2 years, i don't know why you all think anything is going to change

You do realize that if you take your friends into a sbmm match, the other team will be based on your skill. Since you have played more crucible.
