I think most on these forums the last year and a half would say that this ship has appeared rudderless far too often.
I hope today's news is the start of a clear direction and vision for what we all want which is for Destiny to be the masterpiece we all know it has the potential to be.
Hopefully the days of ever changing currency, weapon metas and grinding just to get back to where we just were are over and instead of endlessly beating our heads against the RNG wall, we once more look to the stars knowing our destinies lie amongst them as we explore the universe and fight for humanity.
We know that the people who make Destiny care and want it to be as great as we do. I hope now they have a leader who can let them be as great as we know they can be.
Here's to the future.

1 RespuestaI hope he Mercy Rules a bunch of people. Only way to save this game, and possibly the company, is to hand-out pink-slips to anyone associated with the Old Guard approach.
-
2 RespuestasAs much as I would like this change to signal a turn for the better, I highly doubt we will see any difference, good or bad.

2 RespuestasI wish you well Pete.

Am hopeful Sol's, but we have been let down a lot in the past. Am gonna sit in the middle on this one and see where they take it from here.

2 RespuestasDo you think Bungies requirements for being CEO are: must have TOM, Must have hard mode ship, shader, and emblem, must be 320?
-
1 RespuestaGREAT! NEW CEO! NOW ADJUST THE HOME PRICES YOU GODDAMN PEANUT!
In all seriousness, let's hope this helps.
-The guy with no house
-
1 RespuestaDo I think it will bring change to the game? Probably not. Might we see more interaction from Bungie? It's a maybe. Does this get me excited for the future? No.. I need to see things actually being done first. Bungie lost credibility with me as a gamer.

21 RespuestasI don't know whether this will spark any meaningful change. I do know that every instance of Herald Ryan publicly, officially, speaking I disagreed with him on nearly every aspect. Ryan sold the company's legacy, eviscerated the product a year before release, disrespected gamers -the customers- and their time and experience in both Destiny and other games. I clearly don't know him on a personal level but based on the appearance he's presented to the public I'm inclined to dislike him, intensely. This new guy could have been at odds with Ryan or could have been yes-manning the whole time. Only time will tell. I know that the Destiny community is often ridiculed for it's fervor over the game. We're often mocked as if we believe we are stock holders. Well we are. We're investing a priceless commodity, money comes and goes, time marches on. A 10 year game isn't a 10 year game without the players playing it.

2 RespuestasEditado por Lander: 1/28/2016 4:42:00 PMThe update was too much pretentious narcissistic bullshit and too little actual direction. It was only a few paragraphs long but I was still starting to get bored of reading 'here at Bungie, we're f*cking amazing. And we know it :D ' Sorry boys but you aren't a great company. A great company doesn't release the insults that were the first two expansions, a great company doesn't forcibly inject meaningless microtransactions into its game 'because profit', a great company doesn't charge £40 for DLC that was worth something closer to £18, a great company doesn't make its game obsolete for players who aren't prepared to fork over more cash for DLC, and a great company never produces bullshit like 'throw your money at the screen'. Bungie is slowly crawling out of the hole that it has dug for itself, but it's still very far away from the company that it used to be.. Ya'know.. When 'Bungie' actually meant something

He's off to a bad start. That bwu said nothing. This isn't a pvp game. So why is everything since the taken king been geared towards pvp? Like I'm in utter shock that they continue to do the same thing expecting different results. Insanity. Destiny is dead has been dead and bungie is on life support. Time to pull the plug my fellow gaurdians. Year 2 is terrible so far. What have they done to make it better? Year 1 was so much better.

27 RespuestasCopied from a similar thread (my post): The only way this helps is if Parsons puts a finger in the face of every remaining developer and community manager and says, "You will not lie to them again." Next, he narrows his gaze on DeeJ and Cozmo and says, "You will have frequent, meaningful, and respectful interaction with this community. A lot of the acrimony that currently exists falls squarely on your shoulders as you did nothing while reckless speculation erupted into forum wars that never had to happen." He will have to be a bit more physical with Luke Smith. Grabbing his collar, and as he proceeds to shake the neckbeard off of Luke, he growls, "You are to never utter a word on behalf of Bungie in public ever again. EVER!" Luke needs to be wiping the spittle from his face when Parsons gets done. "Lars," warns Parsons, "if you ever stealth adjust connections again, you'll find a stealth pink slip in your final check." I think that would be a good start.

Here here bump

Weekly update is live ... and as far as things go - I'd like to say it was a big swing and a miss ... but this would imply that anything about the update even resembled Bungie taking a swing in the first place. It reads like they couldn't even be bothered getting up to bat.

5 RespuestasI don't know much about boardroom politics and even less about running a multi million dollar company, but if I were this Parsons character, my long term goal would be to restore Bungies once stellar reputation. Shift emphasis from milking a minimum viable product, to giving gaming back to the gamers.
-
Agreed. Good post, Sols.

It's nice that Bungie has a new CEO, but I'm not optimistic for changes in the future. With how Destiny has been treated by Bungie for the past year n' a half, it would take a lot of effort to turn this disaster into the masterpiece it was supposed to be.

-
It might not have a massive impact on the current state of Destiny, but perhaps this means I can be warily hopeful for Destiny 2.

1 RespuestaEditado por Cooper: 1/28/2016 9:20:46 PMI wonder what's going on at Bungie, they suddenly seem to have woken up. This just came over Twitter: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14284 The second MM fix in 48 hours, something I would never have dreamt of before.

Look if your still hear the reason i want Etheric light so much is because my best builds wher on my old armor(+ i looked really really cool this girl said to me.).and after taken king came out i was not able to use my fav weapons and gear and i was just plain weak(and my younger brother kep saying im weaker than him and i dont compare to him anymore).than there was just a lot of things i could not do cause i needed taken king armor.so i deleted my Y1 raid gear so i can have space to fit in some ttk gear to have better light so i can catch up with other people.but i still have not deleted my fav gear. The builds where just sick.i made them perfect just plain perfect and i still use them whenever i can.after ttk came out After i took a big fat break cause when i played.i was just sad to find out that my gear was nothing.i planed to use this gear for the rest of the 4 destiny games before ttk came out.JUST bring it back plz
