I just want to point out that covenant uses plasma weaponry and forerunners and prometheans use weapons that fire hard light projectiles.
Edit: Flood could also just infect oryx and then there will be taken flood.

Oryx is undead. And would take any Flood within a country mile. He could not be infected. Jesus. The number of ignorant OTers is too damn high.

Not necessarily, assuming he has a nervous system the flood could assimilate him. Also oryx would appear to have a limit to how much he can take. If he didn't then he would've just taken every non guardian there is. Depending on where the flood infection originates from (assuming it starts from scratch within the destiny universe) the infection could very well overwhelm him. Also to get around the throne world issue that basically grants the hive immortality the flood would learn of these and how to access them just by infecting a few hive.

Don't worry, we can assume that the Gravemind has already been formed since it's universe vs universe. Since the Flood all share a single mind over all biomass, Oryx would have to take the Gravemind, which is not happening, especially the pre-array Gravemind. There's no reason to believe that Oryx could take individual Flood forms, since the concept of Oryx "taking" has no clear criteria. Even if he could, he wouldn't be able to take the trillions upon trillions of robotic warriors (Sentinels) that the Forerunners have, including the Sentinels of Onyx. So it would be a never ending cycle of the Flood infecting, Oryx taking, and the Sentinels annihilating.
