It needs to be said.

EDIT: A lot of people support this post so far but as always there are people who disagree. However, most of you who are disagreeing with my valid points seem to have your mind clouded: I am NOT calling for any weapon nerfs whatsoever. SPECIAL AMMO is the issue here. Had Bungie realized this sooner, even shotguns would have survived the nerf wave. NOBODY needs to spawn with six sniper rounds at the start of a match. That is thirty-six instantaneous kills right from the beginning, and that is just ONE team. Double that. That is seventy-two. Absolutely absurd. Special weapons are supposed to be situational and/or backup. If Bungie had handled special ammo like they had handled heavy ammo back in the day, and limited its availability, we wouldn't be at this point. We wouldn't be taking sniper rounds through our skulls every twenty seconds, and specials would be in check for PVP while remaining godly for PVE. Nerfing weapon damage statistics ruins weapons for both communities. Nerfing ammo availability does not. That said, READ THE WHOLE POST before you think I'm calling for a nerf of your precious thousand-yard crutch. --- Honestly, the PVP meta that came with 2.0 was the most amazing experience since day one vanilla multiplayer. Until people realized that all along, snipers were a massively overpowered hidden treasure, with certain ones in particular having such a high amount of aim assist that true skill was not needed to pull headshots. Now everyone spams them as they are the last crutch option. Even sidearms, a trusty and powerful option, are ignored. Here we are. The age of "half of my deaths are from snipers." This is probably the third meta where the time to kill reached damn near zero seconds. Crucible was most balanced when the Regime was king. Yeah it was a little powerful but you know what? It still took skill and patience to secure the kill, you could still use other weapons, and meanwhile shotguns (the former OP special) and snipers (the current), weren't that bad. Yeah even fusions were a little too great back then but they took charging and skill to use consistently, with the exception being the Murmur. Don't get me started on subclass balance. BLADEDANCERS AND SUNBREAKERS NEVER NEEDED ANY TWEAKS. The nature of this game is as follows: no balance is possible since the very first nerf. The Regime. You people whine, and whine, and whine, and whine for EVERYTHING that is slightly good to be ruined because you blame everything but your own lack of skill as the reason for your sh*tty kill/death. You want to know what needs to happen? Special ammo needs to be attained in multiplayer PURELY from boxes scattered on the map, just like heavy ammo. People wouldn't spawn with an ungodly amount of sniper ammo and they would actually resort to a tactic that the skilled vanilla players exercised: PRIMARY WEAPON FIRE. That would keep specials tied to a BACKUP role in multiplayer while leaving them to remain all powerful in PVE. Problem S-O-L-V-E-D. Call me a hypocrite for calling for an ammo nerf when I said that nerfs are what got us here but peep this: The Crucible is the WORST it has ever been. Snipers, combined with a pulse rifle, a scout rifle or the Last Word. Use anything other than that and you are at a disadvantage immediately. Immediate disadvantage. Sound familiar? Remember seeing your corpse riddled with big ass thorns every twenty seconds? The Regime was NOT that overpowered. But calling for that nerf gave rise to the Thorn/TLW and sliding shotgun cancer. Thanks to you b*tching about the Regime, we were stuck with even worse multiplayer for EIGHT MONTHS, which WILL happen again. And you just kept on crying, which caused the downfall of hand cannons (when NO legendary ones even needed a nerf), and caused the downfall of shotguns, which caused the rise of the current scout sniper-based PVP abomination that is year two Destiny. Congratulations community. On top of that you recently got Sunbreaker nerfed and now you're moving on to the MIDA and Stormcaller. YOU are the reason you hate this game. YOU broke the multiplayer. None of you kids would last a single match on Gears of War before you would scream for a Gnasher nerf. --- I once loved Destiny. Maybe I can again.
