This Hard Raid exposes bad players

More so than any other Raid so far this one exposes players who just aren't that great. There's nowhere to hide boys. Everyone has a job. Everyone needs to STAY ALIVE(they have the hardest time with this one) Everyone needs to think on their feet. Everyone needs to DPS. Everyone needs to use their supers and abilities intelligently and to the benefit of the team as a whole. There are honestly some players who may want to consider skipping this hard raid or at the very least ONLY run it with Warlock Self-Rez so you have an extra chance or two when you mess up. Seriously, consider it. Some of you are making this A LOT harder for other people when you join a group. EDIT: A lot of you are mistakenly assuming I am some sort of Rage Monster who yells at his team mates, singles them out right away, and kicks people. Nothing could be further from the truth. I patiently explain every step, try to help my team mates, ask them what gear they might have and make suggestions, ask them if they would feel more comfortable in a different role, I try new tactics that other teams run, I play for hours with the same team even when we are struggling, and I HAVE NEVER KICKED ANYONE IN MY DESTINY CAREER.

  • I have some fcukwit who couldn't stay alive long enough to start the sequence on the war priest. When he finally did, he started shooting the adds even though he didn't have the aura. FML. It took a good 45 mins to spoon feed this noob enough information/direction to complete the priest. When we started collecting the loot, the noob received an exotic item which didn't show up in his inventory, it was then he owned up to never doing the raid before. Apparently his brother ranked up his characters by completing the raid for him. Why enter the hard mode without a clue and waste my time in the process?!? What a complete c-u-n-t!!

    • Bump I totally agree with you some people as I say are the busted legs in raid groups. If they screw up bad in the normal raids then they will get exposed in the hard everytime

    • If you don't have one already, I'd consider forming a regular raid group rather than trying to discourage folks, who paid for the game just like you, from playing. Sure some are worse than others and I empathize with your lost patience. They will continue to bang their heads against the fights until they either give up themselves, get better skill-wise, and/or obtain higher level gear from the early bosses and then maybe at that time, things will go much smoother. It happens with all the raids. First couple months are rocky as everyone commits to them at different times after launch. Thereafter the chance of getting seasoned teammates in pickup groups goes up.

    • So far in the time that I have done the kings fall raid nobody I have played with has had trouble any were but the war priest brand and the jumping puzzles..jumping isn't hard in any sort of way if you have played for a good amount of time with a character especially one who is high enough to raid you think they would understand how to -blam!-ing jump

    • Good post. I agree with it. I do not say skip it unless it is an attitude thing. It is one thing to learn hard gameplay it is an entirely new world to learn to do it as a team. If people are listening and learning then there is no problem. People get better by learning from others. If they do not posses the ability to understand team work then yes, they should move on or skip to save themselves some frustrations.

I was in a group where lead was kicking people immediately if they died I told him half of this is team chemistry u arent allowing it to develop. And ur the relic runner easiest job. I left group after awhile figuring i cant finish with that lead (already cleared it day one after 6 hours of oryx lol we were all underleveled below 310 pre ogre cheese) People r expecting to clear this easy, its hard and people will die. Usually tho there is a weak spot in groups that once they leave, u will clear raid. However jicking people immediately doesnt solve that as there is a chance for everyone to die

      • Haha. I would love to see all of these great players who are responding to this to join on a fireteam together, play Oryx on hard and come back and post about it. I bet each one would come back and complain about the other supposedly great players. I am not saying I am good or bad. All of our clan just wants to just gear up better for the hard mode Oryx fight, we run up to Oryx on hard just fine. But we are all still 305-309 and we have only tried Oryx for about 30 mins the first week and decided to gear up better. Good or bad, higher light will make it easier to stay alive. I know when you play with randoms it gets frustrating because some players are not that great, but you can always find a spot where they do OK and just let them do that every time. Personally I like to go right on every boss fight and I always take the same pillar unless I am floating or torn. Repetition is key, like they say practice makes perfect....just takes longer for some.

        • Then advise everyone to 'git good' rather than 'self rez because you suck' Practice makes perfect. Not self rez. Or practice with self rez? Anyway, my advice to all you that make mistakes.... practice

            • It most definitely has exposed the slackers in our clan. They were fine in normal mode, but as soon as we started doing hard mode, it was death after death from easily avoided situations.

It boggles my mind how a person cannot jump from plate to sister's plate and not stay alive. So there is an ogre ok. I ran the relic for noobs 50 times 2 were bad because I must hope. No one wanted to run it. They rather die on a plate and blame the ogre.

              • I couldn't agree more. This raid really shows you who is bad, who cannot think on their feet, , dam it even shows who doesn't understand counter clockwise! Using the no knights cheese strategy is a couch for those people unfortunately. So now you have a bunch of people with hard mode emblems etc that never actually beat the mechanics of the hard raid lol. They are the same ones who cheese the bridge in oryx and ONLY wanted to attempt oracles while sniping. Doing this normal really shows what players are just really lacking a skill set for this game and for these types of encounters.

I don't understand how people can die so much. If you get shot, find cover. It's that simple.

                  • I'll never complete this hard raid, my team dies for te dumb reasons. Most of them can't kill their knight And when it comes time to run to their blights they don't make it back in time.

                  • I don't understand how players can be 313 light with four clears and still cause wipes 4 times in a row before getting given a new job. Or how people woth the emblem cant jump to the daughters, or make it to their corrupted light and back in time. Ive been trying for an entire week with 14 or 15 different groups to get this clear. Im never the first dead (except one time a random decided to detonate a wrath on my head at the same time a knight tossed fire at me) i know intimately every facet od this raid and still have not cleared... i just think LFG isnt the right place to find clears.

                    • I agree 100% bud, this raid requires the most communication and team work to date for Destiny. When you have the one or two people who are the consistent weak link it is not good for them or for the team. People begin to resent the weak link while that person puts a lot of self-imposed pressure on themselves which causes more fractures in play not more cohesion. I am at a point where I have to critically look at my team BEFORE going into the raid and making sure I can rely on these people to get us thru the thick of it. It is also causing a rift in my clan as the more experienced players are not tolerant of the lesser experienced ones, and so people are playing with others. Which is definitely not what Bungie wanted, but it is necessary for the time being. In a couple weeks after everyone gets a bit higher in light I don't feel that this will be an issue, but for now its really frustrating and upsetting for the weaker folks.

                      • I really like how this raid forces everyone to learn MANY roles. I got a little tired of telling people to go stand on the top of the doorway and don't die while the rest of the team killed Crota.
