EDIT: Third option is "I'm against it because I think I'm defending would-be offended people"
EDIT2:
58 people are "offended" by it. EDIT3: 125 now (67 person increase)
3538 people are for it. EDIT3: 7098 now (3,560 person increase)
One thing we can all agree on is we need:
THE TRI-ANNUAL DIABEETUS FESTIVAL WITH WILFORD BRIMLEY AS BEETUS CLAUS.
Are Some people seriously against a Christmas Festival because it would "Offend some people?"
I see some people arguing against a Christmas festival because it's "offensive" to some.
Seriously?
Have we gotten so sensitive that nobody is allowed to have any fun or do their own thing anymore without crying "but it offends me"
This mindset is toxic. You aren't allowed to do anything you like anymore without some random kid saying "You can't do that because I don't like it too." If the whole world doesn't agree with you, we just can't do it.
Forget that the majority celebrates the holiday in some way.

I'm not really heavily religious so any festival would suit me.

Editado por Merx: 10/31/2015 12:24:38 AMI'm down for a Xmas theme but if they do I bet u someone is going to walk into the building and shout ALLAHU AKBAR and walks out (I wonder if I'll get hate for saying that)

1 RespuestaChristmas doesn't really have anything to do with Religion anymore. Santa and commercialism are all it is about. So honestly, why should it matter? Now... if Bungie decided to put crosses and stars and noel and manger babies everywhere, then yeah, people can and honestly do have the right to complain. But the colors? Candy canes? Christmas trees? Lights? Snowmen? Red and white ribbon? 99% of Christmas stuff has nothing to do with Jesus' birth. Actually, none of it REALLY does, the date was an arbitrary decision that goes against what the bible said... but that's a different tale, lol.

I would like it to happen, but at the very least, i want xur to come to the tower with a santa hat, red robes, and a giant bag near him
i'm dead serious, bring santa xur damnit
-
They could easily make a christmasy theme without it being christmas, they did just fine for halloween. Make the tower snow instead of having those little particles floating around, use red and gold candles instead of the purple ones theyre using now, hang some garland above door entries, hang some illuminated engrams from the trees, random snowsmen, etc. none of that really screams christmas. I'd simply just be in favor of them making the tower season themed and changing it up every 3 months just to keep the tower fresh.

4 RespuestasI bet Japanese would add thier tradition in a game. Why cant Bungie add thiers??
-
I would prefer it be a festivus celebration instead. Festivus for the rest of us.
-
I should get infinite likes and replies because I'm a taco
-
1 RespuestaNot religulous, but this is Merica! One nation under Santa!
-
Sooooo can it snow on every stage ? I'd enjoy a raid with snow and sliding everywhere but then again, maybe I'm asking for too much.
-
It blows my -blam!-ing mind how something in a video game, celebrating a holiday would offend someone. That's the problem now a days people are just sooooo soft and think everything is even/balanced/fair/similar. Reality check life isn't fair that are much more serious things to be offended by. Hope everyone enjoys the holidays. Good luck guardians
-
That's like saying "bless you" and someone replying with "I'm an atheist"
-
im mean they dont have to play destiny for too weeks of there that offended
-
I'm all for a Christmas festival but you got to look at the people who aren't Christian There are other religions that celebrate other things and having a Christmas festival to them is like telling them you should believe in this religion not yours
-
2 RespuestasSeriously -blam!- them! If it offends them they can log off or ignore it, it's not like we are turning up at their door and sticking a Christmas tree up their ass..... If something like a silly Christmas event offends them then they probably need mental help, they can't blame "religious beliefs" because I can't see baby Jesus showing up at the tower it'll be the commercialised version for kids with presents and decorations.. I have zero sympathy for people who cry about Christmas, there are plenty of different celebrations that people use to take offence.... Maybe if people stopped trying to be offended and took that Christmas tree out their ass they would be a lot happier and may even enjoy it.

2 RespuestasBeing white must be hard. Who cares? Call it any holiday and I'll likely enjoy it. If it snows in the tower, awesome. But I know not everyone celebrates Christmas. So why not have a festival but call it something else? It's a win-win. Unless it must be Christmas for you, in which case, you're offended and you're the problem.
-
2 RespuestasThe whole "offensive" part is that it caters to "a specific religious group" but it's a misconception that "Christ" "belongs" to specific religious practices. In reality "Christ" is shared among many religious groups, the misunderstanding is that "Christ" was a man, but it was Jesus that was the man, Christ is the level of consciousness. It is found in many religions an example would be "Enlightenment" in Buddhism. The point I am making is that I think Bungie can make up its own in game holiday that appeals to the entire fan base that includes all the common factors found in many (if not all) religions They could simply call it the "Festival of Light" or something along those lines & it would work for everyone
-
3 RespuestasLets be honest, Christmas hasn't been religious in years. It's a commercial holiday used so you can spend tons of money, and give and receive gifts.
-
It would only be right to have the worlds #1 capitalist holiday
-
Just let it snow and have santa related things. If that offends people they should just end themselves
-
When has Christmas truly been a religious holiday.
-
who gives a flippin F? the shite that people b*tch about these days is ridiculous.
-
I think that we should have other festivals rather than just Christmas. What's so bad about supporting Ramadan? This is coming from an agnostic/leaning towards athiest
-
I think it would be cute
-
I don't care either way but I think calling it a holiday festival that includes a little of everything should be reasonable. Christmas is christ's mass so it is about religion even though a lot of people don't care. I don't believe in God but I do enjoy it because the family gets together.
-
We should just have a generic holiday
