Why is this even going on? If you're working a minimum wage job and trying to live off of it. You're doing it wrong.

Decreasing tax is a much better idea

4 RespuestasEditado por DukeOfStuffing: 10/26/2015 6:53:35 AMNahh, let's never raise the minimum wage ever again. It isn't like the economy is dependent on people spending money, anyway.
-
Short run - half of them get laid off and make $0 Long run - cost of living increases substantially to the point where $15 will buy you what $8 can today, rich people invent more machines to automate things and just get even richer and don't pay any low end workers. Places with a high minimum wage aka Denmark as Bernie loves to model off of don't have baggers, don't have greeters, have kiosks in some McDonald's, and everything is about twice as expensive as in the US. Plus they get taxed close to 40% depending how many hours they work Only reason People should vote for him is so They can refinance student loans and use that money saved to move to another country. I live in Denmark, sanders utopia and I can tell you 1000% none of it will work in the US and that is ok. The US is way better at certain things we just have extreme equality - at least for the next 50 years until we run out of money

1 RespuestaRaising the minimum wage will further decrease the value of the dollar.
-
Is this what people are complaining about now? I'm beginning to lose count of all the shit you people whine about.
-
minimum wage is supposed to be a living wage though lol
-
I am pretty sure it is 18$ where I am.
-
1 Respuesta15?! It's like €8 here

4 RespuestasI down for $15 min wage. I always use the self checkout at the grocery store anyway, and would rather put my food order in at a kiosk than hoping the half-wit with a bad attitude pushed the right picture on the register.
-
2 RespuestasI say let the market dictate the proper minimum wage.
-
Lol thr people who fight for this are working these min wage jobs for a reason. The guy with his lambo and books can explain this easily

1 RespuestaThe only way it would work is if there is a law that states businesses cannot raise prices more than so much a year. Other wise all that's going to happen is the cost of living will skyrocket and it will all be the same just with bigger numbers.
-
Why do people act like it's something to speculate on? It happened in Seattle, although we won't see how it turns out for a while...
-
It will destroy small businesses who can't afford do pay employees. No. This is the dumbest possible course of action. Less small businesses meand large companies take over and charge high fees. But they can afford them now, right? No, because their workplace went bankrupt and they don't have a job.
-
But people think they should be able to support a family on minimum wage. As long as a majority wants it, it will go through. Sadly they do not care for the overall economy of our country, with this "its all about me" mindset.

Exactly

-blam!- no

Bruh not everyone can afford education and aren't as smart... alsoooo most hoes be getting prego

3 RespuestasEditado por Zeenithian: 10/26/2015 8:37:33 PMOh, I can only wonder why big businesses are moving job's to other countries. Edit: I'm being sarcastic.

9 RespuestasIt's ridiculous. It's called minimum wage for a reason, people with mental retardation can do it. I'm in the military why should someone that flips patties make more than me?
-
Should be 100$/half hour minimum wage.
-
Because increasing the pay of workers of basic jobs couldn't possibly raise the price of common goods, thus raising the cost of living and starting the cycle all over again. I predict a push for a $50 minimum wage by 2035.
-
if the min wage was raised, employers would be more reluctant to hire high school students/graduates and pick people with more job experience instead.
-
I worked four years at McDonald's while going to college. Other than managers they almost never gave regular workers 40 hours a week. So if the minimum wage is $15 they'll balance everything by cutting down hours so those of you out there who are ambulance drivers don't have to worry, you'll still be making more than McDonald's or Wendy's crew worker.
