So, reset isn't uusally until 5 am EST, and it's only just after 3 and now the iron banner playlist is gone.... right as I was going to the tower to buy my Nirwen's Mercy.
What the hell guys? Thanks Bungie, real f'ing cool...
EDIT: For clarififcation, it was 3:07 AM EST when I noticed it as I was insantly booted out of the playlist for my party size being too small (thought to myself WTF?) and then I saw it was gone on the director. Panicking, I checked the tower right away and sure enough Saladin was gone which really cheesed me off since I was only a few points shy prior to the match I'd just won of rank 5 and I needed a few more marks.
I didn't even think the gun was all that great until I looked at some youtube videos like 20 minutes before firing up destiny as the stats weren't super impressive when I first glanced over it. Turns out the thing has some of the best recoil in the game making it stupidly accurate and easy to control, beating out hawksaw easily and hawskaw is a very good rifle.
So it's cool to post a half-assed twitter update that they should know not everyone will see towards the end of the final day's afternoon and to not say anything about banning or what have you and TS for everyone else who may have been working etc? No Bungie, you post that stuff on your site. This is why you have an official forum and a news section. This is literally the only AAA title I play that DOESN'T keep a regularly updated news feed for announcements like this on the game's actual website. I did a 14 hour shift yesterday for the Canadian federal election and was extremely tired when I got home. Decided to check the website and relax/eat etc and there was nothing new so I just chilled for a bit, finishing up my other weekly stuff and then went to finish off IB before bed only to see this nasty little surprise.
Nevermind all the people who were cheating by abusing the shadowshot glitch, or who completely suck at PvP going 0.2 KD or less and essentially contributing NOTHING to the team getting the IB gear just handed to them because your reward system doesn't take performance into account at all (whereas with Raids you can't just coast through). I don't even know what to say at this point, the level of incompetence being displayed just baffles me.

37 RespuestasEveryone keeps saying "they announced it, they announced it, your fault you were told, etc etc etc" But if they aren't announcing it IN GAME then it just isn't a viable communication. I bought and play a copy of a video game called Destiny. Users shouldn't have to subscribe to or use a third party application (Twitter, Facebook) or even visit the forum in order to have important information concerning that game disseminated. As I mentioned earlier, some parents don't even allow their children access to social media (I'm one of those parents), so there should be a source for information built INTO the game itself. Perhaps a public information kiosk / bulletin board centrally located in the tower. But don't say "you were told" if it was something Bungie Tweeted. Not everyone uses that stupid Twit garbage. (BTW, I get most of my information just from talking to friends, I don't user Twitter myself) Just my opinion.

I never finished my ib quest.

3 RespuestasWhile I agree that it should have ended on the normal day and time, if it took you that long to reach rank 5...on one char...I will leave it at that.
-
It ended early cause the drops sucked balls and banner had crazy glitches in it.
-
Who the f tweets Maybe I should tell my girlfriend to follow Bungie or Deej on Twitter and she can txt me. Lmao
-
1 RespuestaThis is what happens when you leave things till the last minute. I got nirwens on day 1 of the banner and it is pure sex.
-
They did tweet it a few times. No in-game or Destiny app notification, unfortunately.
-
It ended early because of the mercy rule.

22 RespuestasI feel bad for you, cus its the best pulse rifle I've ever used

I noticed that too, it ended 8 hrs earlier.
-
might as well used a telegraph

Sucks for you
-
Didn't end early for me. Just saying

I feel the same and was really angry when that happened to me: for over a year IB always ended at reset, it has became something you don't even think about anymore. I just started playing after work thinking I have good 3 hours to get my hunter to level 3 and get the cloak I wanted. We were playing in a fireteam, too, having fun, and nobody new about the early end. You can only imagine how pissed and disappointed we were, when suddenly got kicked out, with half-done bounties, marks ready for purchases and so on... This was a horribly idiotic move on Bungie's side that pissed off mostly the loyal fans playing since day one, and worst of all: I can't think of a single reason why! Damn Bungie, you managed to outdo yourself in stupidity yet again...

Don't take the bait Don't take the bait Don't take the bait Don't take the bait

Same. Had been sitting at rank 5 for a bit hoping that the sidearm would drop (which ofc it didn't) went to go buy it, saladbar was gone.

For those who want a reference. Edit: I'll help you guys get started on a new twitter account. Edit 2: For mobile users that don't want to make a twitter for whatever reason; When you launch the app hit the tab and hit Destiny (Destiny Logo) Swipe to the left twice, and you'll get all their Social Media account updates. So difficult. For PC users, just scroll to the bottom on hit the twitter icon. Congrats, you're going pro.

49 RespuestasTo be fair, this guy does have a point. There's a couple of issues here. 1. It's the first time that it happened and apparently, the Twitter update popped in less than 10 hours ago. If Bungie is going to do something as drastic as to change the rules of a monthly ritual like IB, there needs to be an announcement at least with one or two days in advance. 8 hours is precisely a regular work's shift. Maybe people go to school. Maybe some people can't check Twitter while at work. Some people might be in such a rush that they think IB is still open (and why would t it be?) so they forget to check social networks because you only got a couple hours left to get your items, man! Screw that for now! 2. Is Twitter the main source of information for Destiny now? Or Reddit? Because if so, this is something new. We have stickys now that provide important info, pop up messages when you open the app, we even got those maintenance message that show up on the site (not on the app yet so there's another flaw) so like they said, it's doable and it's important. Even if it would have been short notice, a message here in the official Destiny forums would have been nice. I can't think of a better place to share information with the Destiny community than...well, in the official Destiny forums. 3. Maybe some other games issue news with Twitter or FB messages or whatnot. Destiny hasn't done so until now. Or at least it has been ok about spreading the news about major updates both in forums and other social networks. Hell, we all know about the NF patch taking place later today, right? It's everywhere in the forums and t was part of the weekly update. Done. Simple as that. 4. People got robbed of two hours without a warning. I know what everyone is thinking. "Two hours?! Really? Like that's a big deal!". It is to people who probably waited until the very last minute to grind IB because today you'd get the most exp throughout the event. Or for whatever reason. People were not prepared for it. Imagine you're going to take a test and you think you got two hours to work on it. You study, you're focused and you feel prepared so you go in. The first questions seem difficult so you skim through them. You take care of the last page first because whatever, those looked easy or that's just your method. 50 minutes in and you're doing great! You're halfway done so by the looks of it, you'll make it just on time. Then the teacher walks up to you and takes your test. "Time's up!", he says. You feel confused and question him about having two hours to work on it since you're not done! "Oh, he sent an email about 3 hours ago saying the test time had been reduced to an hour. Check your email, dude!", someone else says. Maybe you were too focused studying to even check your email right before the test. Maybe it wouldn't have helped you at balling you had read the email since t was such short notice. Who knows?! But wouldn't it make people feel better if the teacher had stopped before the test to at least say "Hey, dumbasses! Remember you got one hour to work on it, ok?!" It's the principle of the matter, I think. That's probably why people are so upset about it.

6 RespuestasSign here if Bungie should give him the pulse rifle. Sure they announced it on Twitter but no one gets on twitter and they should announce EVERYTHING on the forums.
