let's face it: infusion in its current state is a failure, pre TTK content is obsolete, and this game is just less fun than we've ever remembered it being.
the Infusion system is a failure in its current state. why should I have to spend so many weapon parts (and exotic shards for exotics? are you kidding me? you don't even let us buy shards from xur anymore) and rely on RNG just to max out weapons that I actually like using? it's almost impossible to get non-raid weapons past 313-315 without relying on getting lucky a few times every week in the hard mode raid. give us ascension back or fix infusion because infusion sucks, and it's just bungie's way of making us grind more.
this game has become way more boring ever since TTK came out. a 20 year old could've designed this game to be more fun and fulfilling. the combination of infusion, a lack of weapon parts, the now uselessness of motes of light(aside from leveling up gear quickly), severe pvp imbalance, the fact that all previous content in destiny has been made obsolete, and that the only things there are left to do in destiny are the raid, trials, and iron banner. and two of those things are broken because the gear you're going to get from it is going to have the same stats as vanguard gear.
thanks bungie, for making 80% of the content (and it was fun content too. the vault of glass is still probably the most well designed and most fun raid in this game) in this game pointless, aside from the intrinsic value people derive merely by playing the game. the only reason I play anymore is if I want to kick ass in trials for fun with my friends. but other than that, this game doesn't provide much incentive to play. and I'm willing to bet a large sum of money that statistics will show people are playing destiny a lot less because of it. This shit needs to stop. honestly, I'm only playing destiny anymore because I'm waiting for other games to come out. fallout 4 anyone?

57 RespuestasYou're spot on about infusion. My friends and I were discussing this last night. It's fine right off the bat, until you get your main favorite weapons up to 300+. Then you're stuck at the mercy of a few weekly digital rolls of the dice. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the point of infusion to minimize that in the first place? Infusion should have been worked out so that every piece of gear has something like an infusion "experience" bar. When topped off, it raises the Attack/Defense rating of that gear by 1 and resets, until the gear is maxed out. You can infuse anything into anything, provided that it is still Primary into Primary and so on, regardless of the current stat. But the catch would be, if the value of what you are dismantling for infusion is less than that of what you are infusing it into, that bar only gets a very small boost. On this flipside, you would get a much bigger gain from infusing a piece that has higher stats. This way, I could still be working on my 307 Zhalo Supercell without just hoping to get lucky with a 308-310 Raid primary. So what if it is a grind? It's a much better, productive, and player-friendly grind because I'd be making constant progress, regardless how small that progress is. I'd much rather have to use a hundred 290 Rare Primaries to max out my Zhalo, because with each one I would feel like I am inching closer and closer to my goal. The way it currently works, I'm beyond frustrated when I've completed my third and final Raid of the week, only to end up with a 302 Pulse that I already have, and currently have absolutely no use for. So now I'm waiting for yet another reset, only to more than likely to be disappointed and end up with something else that will not help me meet my goal. Yet again. Both of these systems are a grind, yes. The main difference? My system lets the player continue to progress, every time they infuse. We would see that bar increase slightly, and know that we are one step closer. That would make me anxious to get back to it. Their system? RNG screws you again most of the time, so you get nowhere closer to what you are trying to accomplish. This doesn't excite me to wait around a week for another crack at it, this just pisses me off and makes me glance at my stack of games and look for something else I could be playing. The above is just one example, mind you. One example of one weapon I'm trying to max out. Imagine the ridiculousness of trying to get all my preferred gear to 310? That's unthinkable unless you have no job, no responsibilities of any kind, nothing to do but sit around and play. And even then, you only get 3 chances a week to land something that helps you progress! The system I purposed would ensure that the players have their chance to get their favorite stuff to proper level, provided we put in the time for it. Infusion... A wonderful idea by Bungie that was executed about as poorly as anything in Destiny so far. DISCLAIMER: I've played this game since the Beta and still love it. So don't take my post as a salty "fix it or I'm quitting" thing. But given how much time I've poured into this game, I've caught myself over the months thinking of a million ways they could make Destiny soooooo much of a better experience for us all... Yet they, as we speak, are too busy trying to panic-fix an incredibly nasty exploit that should have NEVER become an issue in the first place... As an avid Destiny fan, this is growing more and more concerning to me personally.

I like how infusion is set up. With that being said I have yet to find a legitimate reason not to be able to infuse ALL of year one stuff. I don't understand why bungie limited themselves again whenever they had actually gained ground to not make everyone look the same. It appears on the surface that any weapon or armor that was maybe to good in year one got left behind out of pure laziness. Instead of fixing the problem it was just deleted. I infusion would have been great in its current state if I actually cared about what I was infusing into......but I dont. In the back of my mind I know it will be gone soon enough and replaced with another piece of grind gear. I'm definitely with you on Fallout 4.

I agree on most points the I have no weapon parts no more and there no way to buy them the gunsmith should sell weapons for glimmer because I'm always maxed out

We have truly been "Dark Belowed" all over again. Game could have been so epic, yet a new expansion comes out and the amount of actual activities in the game is reduced!!!

Most of the armor pieces and weapons on my warlock I got at lower light levels. But since their rolls match the build I was looking for, I was able to infuse them to keep them relevant.

Since when in this game have you [b]not[/b] had to rely on "being lucky once in awhile?" Bungie has the mathematical formula for infusion down to a perfect science. They make it so the number of what you're infusing doesn't come close to what you've infused the item with, to keep you playing longer. They've also nerfed the numbers of weapon engrams you get so that you don't have weapon parts to upgrade your guns as well.

9 RespuestasOkay. I agree that infusion for exotics requiring exotic shards is silly, but infusion is the best system we have had in Destiny! Anyone who says otherwise joined Destiny very recently. In Vanilla Destiny, you had to rely on RNG to hit max level, just right now, but one level back then made a huge difference to your power, and you had to wear ONE set of gear to be max level. Now you can be a high level with any set of legendaries or exotics! Infusion is better in every way except for maybe the material costs.

I think the idea of infusion is cool, that we can continue to use the vendor weapons we like and put raid weapons and anything with higher attack into them to keep them relevant. However the 310 weapons requiring really good rng from the raid I think is stupid. The only way you can get to 310 is if you are EXTREMELY lucky.
