I play soccer (football in Europe)
-
Any good? What position?
-
I'm alright. I like forward (striker). Do you play? Currently out on injury.
-
I don't play football no. Play a different sport. What did you do?
-
I was playing in a game, chasing after this guy who had the ball. He sets up to shoot, I try to step in front of him. My foot caught his and turned it sideways. All of my wait landed on my sideways foot. I didn't break it, but I partially tore some of the ligaments in my ankle. Should be back at it in a few weeks. What sport do you play?
-
Sounds painful. Never tore ligament me. Only broken my nose, had it pushed back then so I could play again. And a few fast hard shots to the head and pelvis. Almost broke my neck once. That could have gone bad. Played a small amount of football and rugby a little while ago. Want to get back into Rugby. Play Roller Hockey now. If you don't know what it is then it is like ice hockey with Quads on a wood floor. And no fights. And no padding bar gloves shinpads and kneepads...
-
It's not to bad. Didn't tear it all the way. It swells up and turns purple. Breaking your nose sounds painful. Never played any kind of hockey. I know what roller hockey is, though I've never played and can barely roller skate. Lol is roller hockey pretty competitive? How does your team usually do?
-
that is good to know mate, hope it heals well. I know they can sometimes become more fragile. I didn't feel it mate, wanted to play the game so my nose is still wonky bit of a rushed job on the side of the pitch. went to Portugal with the England team for a week of training and games against the local teams. 6 slapshots to the face in that time... I was in the physios more than the rink, haha. It is competitive in a lot of places. England used to be the best until WW1 then we stopped and many died fighting. the latin countries took over, along with people like Spain and Portugal. My team that I am with now does well. I am Captain of one of our National league teams. scored 3 international goals 2 years ago at the U20s World championships in Columbia. where we came 9th. America came 8th. but the team said that we would have beaten them, we just had a harder pool. When I played Football I was a Centreback or Goalkeeper, Rugby I was the loosehead prop as I was one of the bigger players at 6 foot 2 and about 14 ST
-
Wow dude. That's awesome! Our soccer league here isn't very competitive. I live in a really small town, so we don't get many opportunities to go to nationals or anything like that. Our teams doing good this year. Not the best in the league but not the worst. Rugby always looked fun, but I never learned the rules.
-
It is good fun :). Rugby is not hard to learn but USA have a bad team. Good luck with the football hope you win the league this year :)
-
Thanks! Hope you do good also! It was nice talking with you.
