Seems really unfair to me. Instead of maybe improving the matchmaking or something bungie takes the easy route and listen to the crybabies. Many of these people may have been playing fair but their connection may take a dip every once in a while, then they get banned. This is the first game I have heard of that bans players not for cheating, but for not buying better internet. Halo never did that, and bungie made halo...
I know a few of my friends have had internet problem, now I won't be able to play with them in crucible because they'll get banned. To me, this seem really unfair.
edit:
So many people are happy about these bans. I am disgusted to be a part of this community, to make these unfair bans rather than just find a way to solve it with maybe matchmaking or dedicated servers. People payed as much as for their current internet provider which could be limited in some areas, payed for the expansions to continue playing, and then get banned from part of the game for simply have poor internet. Not great with advertising either:
"Come play Destiny, we ban players with poor internet!"
Even if you don't like having to play against someone with poor internet, remember there could have been another solution, but no you immediately cry to ban them, heartless. Instead of focusing on bans, bungie should have focused on better matchmaking in my opinion.

Community: "BUNGIE U NEED FIX LAG!" Bungie: *Announces temp bans for those who consistently show red bar in pvp matches* Community: "BUNGIE U CANT JUST BAN LAGGERS WTF!" This community, I swear... You get what you ask for, and then complain because you got exactly what you asked for.

I am not sure what is going on lately but even if I have a 40mbps connection the game is laggy as hell. I find myself going fro 1.2-1.5 ktd to .5 because people are teleporting around the match. I don't think banning someone with crappy internet is the right solution but keep them the hell out of my matches. Everyone elses experience should not be ruined because someone has DSL.

I can't even enjoy the crucible now, too focused on my connection lol. First game in a while, full green bar. So there is that, I suppose. :(

Put them in their own servers.

Editado por SpakulatorX: 10/17/2015 4:45:11 PMIs it fair people take advantage of glitches in the game? Is it fair people boost quests abusing fireteam capabilities in rumble? Is it fair when you get rolled over by a team 6 in ib, while being matched up with newb? Is it fair when you go through a nightfall, and get a 5 pack of 3 of coins? Is it fair when your at the top of the lobby on your team, and the guy at the bottom gets the better loot? Are we all children complaining about what's fair and what's not, who can't accept responsibility for the things we do? If your lagging contanstly and do nothing, than you deserve your temp ban. Work with your isp to figure out what's holding your connection back, check help articles on bungie for how to set up router properly for gaming. Most of all learn to accept life and video games aren't always fair. Bungie can ban who they want at any time for any reason they deem "fair", it's in the eula.

Yes they shouldn't be allowed to play

OOOOOOHH YEEEEEAAAAHH!

Being in the UK and playing with someone in another country I'm bound to be red bar and vice versa. Bungie access what you mean by red bar before you get your scrub hammer out
-
Yes it's fair
-
2 RespuestasThey can start banning people when they have dedicated servers.
-
No, but they can't immediately fix it and imo it's better someone get to play it than no one
-
Yes it is.

No it's a really lazy way for bungie to deal with the games network problems. If you have a bad connection the game should give you 2 minuets to see if your connection evens out, if it not. It just simply kicks you back to orbit with a message saying your were d/c for high latency. The real problem here is the matchmaking itself. The true skill ranking or whatever it uses to determine a match is kind of busted. Until they implement a more permanent fix all game modes should use the trials matchmaking system and connect players solely on connection. It be a much better band aid then just outright banning people.

1 RespuestaBetter matchmaking won't save your McDonald's wifi if you are talking hardcore laggers. Only dedicated servers could.

-
If someone has a red bar ,they should not be able to ruin the game for everyone else .
-
Stay off p2p if your internet is crap.. No ban then
-
Well if you're lagging so bad that bungee bans you(you have to be lagging badly) you're probably not having any fun anyways
-
If it's just poor net , no. However if that is the only way to get people cheating with lag switching or the like, then yes. I'd rather a large net catch the trouble players then just sit back and accept it happens. There is no better way to kill a game then let cheating happen without end. For those who may say it won't help anyways, perhaps true but doing nothing is no answer either.

A lot of it has to do with bungies side I think. But this day and age, they really need to start sorting out issues like this. If you guys think this is bad you want to Metal gear online. Jesus it's piss poor. Shame too as its a really good game. I personally think they need to start labelling games as '20mb minimum required for online play'. I don't know why anyone would be on any less than that as 20mb (in the UK at least) is around £10-20 a month on top of the landline. Which isn't much more than standard broadband. Also have to take into account not everywhere has fibre here yet. It's not as simple a solution as one might think. Lots of factors to consider. But it is unfair that players with decent connection suffer regardless. We shouldn't be outplayed on someone with a Starbucks wifi password.
-
6 RespuestasI totally agree with bans and being kicked. If your connection sucks you are ruining the gaming experience of 11 other people who paid for decent internet and spent literally 15 minutes in their router's menu setting it up properly.
-
6 RespuestasIt does seem unfair in principle but in this day and age i don't think there is much of an excuse for shitty internet. I live in a developing country in the Middle East and i get a poultry 10 Down 1 Up with ping hovering around the 20/25 ms mark (which is the max I can get at the moment) and this is sufficient for me to play PvP. At worst, due to host proximity, i might yellow bar but I can count on one hand how many times this has caused me to lag during my whole time playing Destiny since day one. Unless you live in a third world country there really is no excuse and please don't give me the "cannot afford it" line, you have an Xbox and/or PS4 and have spent money on at least one game and all its DLC's, didn't you think it might be an idea to include a half decent connection to that budget considering, you know, you are going to be playing an ONLINE ONLY game, just a thought?? Why should people that have made this investment be impeded by people who cant/wont for whatever reason, that to me is the only thing unfair here??
-
As long as a player has a red bar... Don't allow them to play. Seems pretty simple to me. I can understand a bad connection every once in a while. I went for almost 1 1/2 months last year without playing because of a bad internet connection. I knew it would have an effect on those I play with. If you consistently have a bad connection... Don't play PvP and deal with it. If you are going to effect my gameplay... I have no issue with you not being allowed to play.

Depends on the situation
