The super was the only thing holding the subclass up, now that the hammer is (understandibly) getting nerfed titans are going right back into being the worst pvp class.
And where the hell is the striker buff we've needed since day one?
I'm thinking about just changing my class at this point.
I mean really, other than the bubble in pve there's pretty much no point in being a titan once the hammer is gone.
EDIT* this seems to have become (a suprisingly reasonable.....for the most part) discussion about the state of the titan class and where it should go from here.
I would also like to say that I am aware that sunbreakers aren't confirmed to be nerfed, my original post is simply a "what if" statement.
And yes, defender and striker can be used to success in pvp. I should know, I've had to get to the lighthouse with these subclasses myself. They are undeniably weak compared to hunter and warlock in pvp though. And strikers are weak in pve.
EDIT*
Fair warning. Enough people have started whining on this post that I'm just going to push the mute button if you bring any stupidity here (you know what I'm talking about).
I'm the OP, I'm the person you're trying to argue with. You lose that opportunity if you start shit posting here.
Frankly I'm too tired to talk to these guys anymore.
Edit*
The mute thing is working! The number of people saying rude and stupid things has gone down dramatically.
Some people disagree, some people agree, but everyone is explaining their point without being an asshole.
Keep up the good work fellas!
Edit*
I don't actually think sunbreaker deserves any nerfs. I only said that to inspire civilized conversation on this post, remember this was made back when they fixed rapid-fire hammer bug and we all thought hammer was getting nerfed.
I'm taking a break from destiny anyways so I don't care as much about this topic.

6 RespuestasEditado por a fat white cat: 10/16/2015 8:54:38 PMI hit a sunbreaker headshot for 188 damage with my 1000 yard stare at close range (lucky shot) We all know this didn't kill him but for reference does anybody know what a ldr class sniper does to bladedancer or stormcaller? I want to get concrete damage reduction numbers Edit: also I don't remember what damage a regular headshot does. Also this was in iron banner so I guess it can be flawed but this is the best one I have

I actually had some thoughts about this today while playing on my Warlock. Something (it seems to me) they did with the Stormcaller is they gave it two separate upgrade paths to synergize: you can focus on chain lightning, or focus on increasing the range of your powers and their recharge speed (at least that's how it feels right now, I haven't fully maxed the subclass). They could something similar with Sunbreakers. Firstly, knock the regular super's armor down so that it can be taken down by another super (Namely I'm thinking golden gun here but really any super). Replace the first perk of the super tree with something else. Then, you can have two choices: focus on dealing out insane death and resist a lot of damage by focusing on sunspots with those perks, but you won't be very mobile because your major damage resistance comes from a sunspot. I haven't worked out what the other option would be, but it would have to be something really useful to help compensate the Sunbreakers for their loss.

Ill be mad if it gets an unreasonable nerf or it gets affected in pve. I love having a subclass that can wreck in pve and doesnt put me in danger. Striker is useless, 1 chance to use it and puts me in danger. The bubble is a support class, not used for wreckage. While sunbreaker can support and cause absolute wreckage. Melting point is a great support perk but puts you in danger to use, but is so worth it. The super destroys, the grenades are average, and everything else on the class sucks.

4 RespuestasI was looking for a satire tag... It seems you forgot one. I'll get it got you. #satire

Titans have always sucked in pvp. No lengthy melee, which is huge in close battles were both guardian have a sliver left. We strike the air they mash us back with their distance melee. No shoulder charge does count. Blink. Don't even get me started. Statistically, Titans had the least amount of kills and super kills in pvp (before ttk). Now, we have a subclass that can compete. I think hunters and warlocks classes have one weaker pvp subclass, Titans have two. If they do something to us I hope it's minimal. People bitch and complain about the sun breaker but I have been taken down in super several times. Via rockets, nads, and just plain ol gunfire.
-
If anything they should buff the defender titan. Perhaps combine weapons and blessings of light.
-
I don't think they announced a hammer nerf. They just said they were listening to people crying. Does that mean they're doing something?

1 RespuestaEditado por BornANew2020: 10/16/2015 8:15:54 PMWell at least bungie is going to look into the stats and everything to see if it indeed needs to be re-balanced. Edit: and I do quite like using striker in crucible still really viable. Edit: would it not be really funny if bungie deemed sunbreakers get a buff.

1 RespuestaEditado por Agonal_whisper: 10/16/2015 8:12:05 PMHonestly, I don't think HoS should be nerfed at all... Sure, when the super is active, there's maybe a 10% chance you and a team could put them down, but otherwise, they are just as easy to kill as anyone else. Supers SHOULD be feared when activated, because it means shit is about to hit the fan, no matter what class it is.
-
The super armor should just be lowered in pvp. That's it.
-
1 RespuestaIf you believe that Sunbreaker is the only subclass to make titans on par with hunters and warlocks, you don't know how to titan.
-
1 RespuestaMeh???????
-
3 RespuestasOK, that's fair. So then do Blade Dancers get compensation as well for nerfing our armor and super time?
-
1 RespuestaSo do Hand Cannon users get compensation? Do bladedancers? No? Then neither do Sunbreakers
-
1 RespuestaTitans got blink and arcbolt nerfed so good luck getting compensation because hunters didn't.
-
1 RespuestaI dont mind where Titans are at all. I do think that they should speed up the other supers a bit. A faster bow would be a nice chess move to combat a hammer bro. Even if they left Golden Gun at 2 shots I would be fine. But maybe they could speed up the time between shots to compensate. Those are things I think they should do. Maybe make the older classes a little more relevant as well.

2 RespuestasStriker is perfectly fine for PvP, you're just bad.
-
shut up, Meg.
-
4 Respuestaslmao titans have never been shit for pvp
-
1 RespuestaThis guy wants a striker buff when it's the most PANIC (95%) kill
-
You get the same compensation blade dancer got. Nothing.
-
We don't even know what they're going to do. So don't assume it's going to be a bad update

I've been noticing a difference with sunbreakers in IB compared to the crucible. It feels as though it's where they should be at in regards to balance (in IB), and my character is light level 304. So that is to say they are rightfully slightly more squishy in IB. As for strikers, I've already listed what I think needs to be done but here they are again: - Unstoppable should be given as a passive, for a super with poor range and suspectability, it's easy to kill a striker before their super goes off. Plus since it is so instant, it be only fair. Especially since other supers replenish health on kill. - transfusion on hit... (Not kill) - the time between going from 3rd person (after landing FoH) getting up and going back to first person is excruciatingly long. I've died so many times because of a ranged attack while being "stunned" in the animation of getting up... - make a vmore visible column of lightning where FoH hits. Why bother with FoH when an enemy player can just blink away? If there was something similar to stormtrance, that would be great. Even some sort of chain lightning effect.
-
I'm pretty sure an armor nerf wouldn't be the end of the world. Hunters got a nerf a while back, just deal with it and stop whining.
-
The melee has amazing burn damage, a OHK grenade and a zone control grenade, yeah the super isn't the only good thing about it

5 RespuestasI don't think the hammer is that great and if it was to get nerfed I feel a game dictated by children tears isn't the game to be played by the majority of mature players
