Sometimes it's just a means of defending your beliefs. But sometimes defending gets too out of hand and just starts antagonizing the other party. This works both ways whether your Christian or Atheist. Being Christian myself, I tend to avoid waking the sleeping dragon. If someone asked what my beliefs were, then I'd tell them.
