Bungie: Hey guys, we thought it would be cool to introduce cosmetic emotes that you can buy for real money. There's no pressure though!
Player: Hmm sounds like a cash-grab, but as long as it doesn't affect how the game plays out I guess it's fine.
*1 DLC Later*
Bungieion: We were blown away by the positive feedback to Eververse's emotes! Now we are adding ships and shaders to purchase with Silver!
Player: I remember when you used to be able to earn everything in this game. But it's all still cosmetic, so whatever.
*2 DLC's Later*
Bungievision: We have heard some people say they want exclusive Sparrows. They are coming soon to Eververse!
Player: Well, it's not going to have any real effect on PvP, so it's fair.
*Destiny 2 Releases*
Actibungie: It has come to our attention that some people can't get the right loot drops and are struggling to level up Light. Because of this, Tess will now sell Legendary and Exotic Armor Engrams for Silver.
Player: Everyone gets unlucky every once in a while! This is a great way to give everyone an equal chance to buy higher Light!
*3 DLC's Later*
Activisionie: Eververse will now sell exotic weapon engrams that drop exclusive guns you can't find anywhere else!
Player: Well, I guess you can already buy everything else in Destiny with real money!
*4 DLC's Later*
Activi$$$ion: It was a hard decision, but as a team we decided to ditch the current RNG-based loot system in favor of an all-microtansaction system. Each gun and armor piece must be purchased separately with Silver.
Player: Yay! Now I can finally get literally everything I want just by paying!!
*Destiny Expansion 2 Releases*
Activi$$$ionEA: Big news! We are pairing up with EA in addition to Bungie! Also, Destiny will now require a $20/month subscription fee.
This is a dangerous game you are playing, Bungie. Do NOT let it get out of hand or you will lose many players like me who can see through your money-making schemes. Also, I shudder to think about this sinister implication: if what we are about to buy is called Silver, then what is...
....
.......
........... GOLD??

4 RespuestasThis is exactly how I see it happening, but on a much shorter timeline.
-
6 RespuestasPeople shouldn't be surprised if this ever becomes a reality. Activision can and will push this as far as they can.
-
2 RespuestasNicely done and rings somewhat true. Do people think they will stop at emotes if it's successful? Everything on page 2 of character screen will be for sale before or with next DLC release.
-
6 RespuestasYou know those little rich kids who are horrible at the game and paid for flawless passages are grinning and slow clapping at the same time....
-
2 RespuestasIf/and/when this happens guess ill go back to just about every other game I used to play

1 RespuestaYeah I like this, maybe it's an exaggeration but still. It gets the point across 👍

Editado por Mobius KI: 10/6/2015 3:11:55 PMthis is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo true check out the post i did about micro transactions and how bungie takes a shit on us year one players and collectors called The stop for using Micro Transactions
-
7 RespuestasHaha love this.. I feel the same way. Micro transaction has ruined every game I enjoyed.
-
12 RespuestasI will never pay for micro transactions. I avidly avoid games with them. Now you have caused me to question the integrity of Bungie like I question every other micro transaction based developer. You guys have made a big mistake.

1 RespuestaThats what I am scared about

Editado por Q33RYT4T10N: 10/6/2015 8:39:48 AMI bought destiny limited edition console... Now i regret it because of microtransactions...
-
Yup that's pretty much how it will go. Then I'll quit and start playing something else
-
As an avid player i too am scared of this spiraling out of control. I for one will not throw my money at the screen and if it ever becomes necessary to be equal with those that do I will quit.
-
2 RespuestasAs much as I want a LOL and clap emote...I will never pay for it.
-
1 RespuestaCan anyone name a game that's been made better by micor transactions?.. No.
-
"If you saw these new animations, you'd be throwing money at your screen."

11 RespuestasConspiracy/paranoid theories at its finest here. When bungee starts selling thing of importance, then you can bitch, otherwise shut the hell up already. I'm tired of seeing this whiny ass community bitch about every little decision bungie makes.

2 RespuestasEditado por weirdboy99: 10/6/2015 3:01:40 PMDestiny is NOT an IOS free to play,it still relies on annual releases that will cost 60€. I'm pretty sure Bungie knows this and won't go overboard with this. If they sell cosmetics and in return I don't have to pay 20€ every few months I'm ok with it. People are blowing this way out of proportion, there is no retail game with microtransactions that has done it the way OP suggests ever. Again this is not IOS or Google play, this is full retail, they can't affort us leaving in droves. Edit:I'm pretty sure this is all Bungie,s idea, their recent lawsuit revealed that they are pretty much unhappy with Activision, and if they can get less dependent from Activision this way then I can only aprove of this direction.

4 RespuestasYea, what Bungie needs to take care of is to avoid letting players get better due to microtransactions... it's totally fine to add cosmetics guys, every game has them... even World of Warcraft, what about Counter-Strike:GO weapon skins and crates? those are only cosmetics, yeah, you can purchase a nice good looking mount in WoW, but that won't make you any better. So... the important thing here is, to mark a line between cosmetics and player advantage due to cashers. If they control that, nothing's gonna happen.
