Bungie: Hey guys, we thought it would be cool to introduce cosmetic emotes that you can buy for real money. There's no pressure though!
Player: Hmm sounds like a cash-grab, but as long as it doesn't affect how the game plays out I guess it's fine.
*1 DLC Later*
Bungieion: We were blown away by the positive feedback to Eververse's emotes! Now we are adding ships and shaders to purchase with Silver!
Player: I remember when you used to be able to earn everything in this game. But it's all still cosmetic, so whatever.
*2 DLC's Later*
Bungievision: We have heard some people say they want exclusive Sparrows. They are coming soon to Eververse!
Player: Well, it's not going to have any real effect on PvP, so it's fair.
*Destiny 2 Releases*
Actibungie: It has come to our attention that some people can't get the right loot drops and are struggling to level up Light. Because of this, Tess will now sell Legendary and Exotic Armor Engrams for Silver.
Player: Everyone gets unlucky every once in a while! This is a great way to give everyone an equal chance to buy higher Light!
*3 DLC's Later*
Activisionie: Eververse will now sell exotic weapon engrams that drop exclusive guns you can't find anywhere else!
Player: Well, I guess you can already buy everything else in Destiny with real money!
*4 DLC's Later*
Activi$$$ion: It was a hard decision, but as a team we decided to ditch the current RNG-based loot system in favor of an all-microtansaction system. Each gun and armor piece must be purchased separately with Silver.
Player: Yay! Now I can finally get literally everything I want just by paying!!
*Destiny Expansion 2 Releases*
Activi$$$ionEA: Big news! We are pairing up with EA in addition to Bungie! Also, Destiny will now require a $20/month subscription fee.
This is a dangerous game you are playing, Bungie. Do NOT let it get out of hand or you will lose many players like me who can see through your money-making schemes. Also, I shudder to think about this sinister implication: if what we are about to buy is called Silver, then what is...
....
.......
........... GOLD??

This is a dangerous and slippery road if you ask me. They took a big step forward in TTK and with this microtransaction crap coming on, it's a HUGE step backwards and will eventually make me leave this game.
-
The fact they came up with a whole new currency type is the clue here guys. That means they plan on having things cost different amounts of silver. Red flags everywhere

Editado por Gnoizic: 10/6/2015 9:35:05 PMI know everyone goes and hates on EA, but they did surprisingly well with the Cartel Market in SWTOR, from what I've gathered. Let the game be free to play, sell cosmetics (though in that case that does include weapons and armor), but the top gear is still out in the world; the mods to enhance the gear you buy with real money from the Cartel Market are gathered from the game itself. The only way it was seen as a "pay to win" was people then putting things up for sale from the in-game market, trading real world money for in-game credits, effectively, then buying the best mods. Since Destiny doesn't have a way to trade gear we have, it's even better. Give EA their due. Activision could learn something by adhering to that concept with Destiny. Keep it cosmetic and microtransactions won't ruin the game. Seems to work in ESO as well.

I played borderlands and this is the same thing right now. They had a store to buy optional shaders for your characters and even weapon packs, but the weapons were terrible. I never bought anything, so as long as the game stays like this, I'll continue playing it.

I really don't mind the micro-transactions. Especially if they stay purely cosmetic. My only beef with them is something insignificant and I'm not worried about it. For those curious, my problem is that I felt that destiny had finally taken a huge step in the right direction with TTK by making more weapons and armor earned by completing specific actions: strike exclusive gear, black spindle, more exotic quests that weren't given RNG style. I think by adding these micro transactions they're kinda taking away that sense of "hey, where'd you get that cool shader (or emblem or emote or whatever)" and instead of the answer being "I had to find this crazy cave on Mars and kill a huge boss to get this shader." The answer is "I bought it for $1.99 at the tower." Or even worse when people are ashamed of their purchases... "Uh... My little brother sometimes plays my account, I guess he must've bought it while I wasn't paying attention....". So you can see, my problem with micro transactions is extremely insignificant and I accept that.

You'd think that the optional yearly subscription would be enough money. But people are willing to pay so much for what they're doing, you say that you'll stop playing if they add ships and gun skins but you won't Bungie has become what I hoped they wouldn't have, won't be supporting them anymore if they think this is a good idea For people who do and are ok with it, that's fine too, but microtransactions should be in games that have a horrible price/content ratio, like evolve, If they decide to not do this il continue to support bungie To each their own I suppose

3 RespuestasThis is a very very slippery slope you're supporting your opinion with.

8 RespuestasAnything past emotes, ships, and shaders and it's over for me. Cosmetic is fine. Once they start selling gear, time to move on to another game.
