Hello Guardians. In the 2.0 update patch notes Bungie had said some things about Shotguns. I have quoted them below.
"Shotguns
Shotgun precision damage scalar grants 10% bonus damage (Was 25%)
Shot Package perk reduces the cone spread by 20% (was 50%)
Rangefinder perk adds a 10% base Range increase on zoom (was 20)
Damage done against AI combatants reduced by 45% ( 2.25-> 1.15)"
So... Are shot guns basically as bad as they were in the beginning of Destiny now? This really makes me sad.

That loss is enough to leave them worthless. Why risk getting close? Fusion rifles arent much better overall but they have range. Snipers will now dominate pve

Nah, not useless. Found Verdict is still wrecking, maybe takes an extra shot or two to kill, depending on the enemy

Until year 2 kicks in with IB and Trials it's same shit, different day. All the fun of the AR, Pulse and Scout buff and peeps still hitting those same old crutches for Riff..............Boooooooring!!!

Nah. They're about the same. Might take an extra shot for some of the bigger guys. Not bad.

They are not as bad as they were before the buff, but don't count on killing a yellow bar enemy with less than 3 shots.

Shotguns are still good you just suck.

yeah they sure arent powerhouses anymore. Defintely taking many more shots to kill targets I'll adjust... Still love my shottys

26 RespuestasNo. Just no. Before the patch, the last time they tuned weapons they gave shotguns a 200% damage increase. I used my full auto solar matador in the nightfall yesterday and it wrecked.

was using the newest base felwinters lie in pvp last night after update and it's still a viable option then I was like "oh yeah" went and got my free lord of wolves from the auto completed bounty and had a blast with that thing.

Shotguns are fine. They are maybe not the only choice for a special weapon anymore. Depending on what you are doing you might want to use something else. Using a shotgun in a heroic with lightswitch may not be a good idea now. In pve you used to be able to use a shotgun in every scenario. all i ever had equipped was a shotgun. Which one depended on the type of shields the enemies had. Now i still use them and they are fine. However all other special weapons are now viable options as well.

1 RespuestaThe fact that three people with shotguns could nearly instagib VIP targets in PoE, therefore trivializing them, meant they were brokenly OP. They are much more in line with fusion rifles now, which was the point I think.

Lv35 Captain from POE Bungie... shotguns are OP. How can i OHK a guardian if i can't get near them? Even with lightswitch... shotguns are just too powerfull!! Please nerf! (But don't touch my shrapnel launcher)
