Hello Guardians. In the 2.0 update patch notes Bungie had said some things about Shotguns. I have quoted them below.
"Shotguns
Shotgun precision damage scalar grants 10% bonus damage (Was 25%)
Shot Package perk reduces the cone spread by 20% (was 50%)
Rangefinder perk adds a 10% base Range increase on zoom (was 20)
Damage done against AI combatants reduced by 45% ( 2.25-> 1.15)"
So... Are shot guns basically as bad as they were in the beginning of Destiny now? This really makes me sad.

Bungie is -blam!-ing stupid for doing this. Should've been 10% like they originally said

2 RespuestasEditado por Smith5084: 9/10/2015 5:43:55 PMThey are back to being useless in PVE... Lord of Wolves is still a monster, but the rest of them that I had on my character aren't worth the space they were occupying. Any high level enemy will kill you by the time you get into range... Bungie ruining entire classes of weapons on the PVE side in the pursuit of balance in PVP is starting to get really old...
-
From what I have seen and experienced they still 1 shot in Pvp, and might take a couple more rounds to kill a high Ultra in PVE other than that still very viable just more balanced towards a close combat weapon is all
-
Found verdict still seems good
-
1 RespuestaStill powerful from what I've seen
-
Dude -blam!-ing bump I was just going to make a post about this!!
-
They're completely worthless in PvE now. You're better off with a fusion rifle for all possible scenarios where you would've used a shotgun. Shotguns are now high risk low reward weapons and as such have no place in PvE anymore when vastly better alternatives exist. Skolas is going to be exceedingly difficult this week. People that hadn't already done their moments of triumph and probably screwed now.

DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?!?!

Gooooood

9 RespuestasStill one shots most red enemies. You will notice the nerf most on yellows.
-
4 RespuestasNo. I think they just became balanced. A shotgun melee combo works great!
-
Secret handshake still works :D
-
No im still rocking with my invective
-
2 RespuestasFound Verdict at 170 still annihilates.
-
Yup, sounds about right
-
Double tap. Don't end up a human happy meal.
-
Seem alright to me. Get up in the face of the enemy and fire. Kills most stuff, I find.
-
pvp yes they are still good but pve is a lil worse than before. a bit weaker than before.
-
There still killers at close range against anything but high tier enemies.

8 RespuestasEditado por Racer X SS9: 9/10/2015 5:32:13 PMNo, they're 15% better than they were in the beginning. Still decent weapons in PvE but not godly anymore Edit: 10% better. Math is our friend

1 RespuestaThis thread needs way more attention. Maybe they could fix them before february 2016? Who knows. It's real. I used a maxed found verdict on a hive major and saw a HUGE f'n difference. Funny thing is, the pvp crowd was (and still are) the group whining and complaining constantly. They do play a part in the wrecking of shit in pve. Look back at the ar nerf. That wasn't pve driven. What was that, 6 months ago? Here's hoping they fix shotguns in less time. Just check it out if you haven't and i think you'll see. Even these so called "desticles" or whatever they call themselves are not too keen on this pve nerf.

2 RespuestasShotguns are a system of risk vs reward, you run higher risk getting closer to enemies, especially more powerful ones (bosses for the most part are entirely off limits since they have a close range -blam!- aoe attack) which limits shotgun use. If you do choose to get up close and personal you should be rewarded with extreme stopping power, which you were. Now admittedly perhaps shotguns hit maybe a lil too hard before, but not enough to warrant a near 50% dmg cut. 10-25% would have done.
-
Yes. Take a shotgun into PoE 35 and see how it works out now lol
