So, as someone who mains warlock, I am really excited about the new arc subclass, Stormcaller. I mean, who doesn't want UNLIMITED POWER!
For anyone who hasn't checked out the gameplay footage yet, you totally should.
Here is a picture of the Stormcaller skill tree (not mine). Note: at E3 "storm grenade" was called "deluge grenade" and "perpetual charge" was called "inclement weather."
What are everyone's thought/feelings about this new subclass? What perks are you most interested in? Any particular builds you are cooking up?
Personally, I am slightly disappointed that (as it stands now) there is only 1 unique grenade. The announced grenades are Lightning Grenade (same as Striker), Pulse Grenade (same as Striker), and Deluge Grenade (the new/unique one).
Now, I know that each class is only getting 1 new grenade each (so far), so this grievance isn't special to Stormcaller Warlocks. Stormcallers are getting lightning grenade which is one of the strongest grenades in the game. Also as many of you have pointed out, E3 builds aren't final, so there is time for Bungie to exercise some creativity with regard to grenades and create 6 more (2 per class) unique grenades.
The greased lightning perk will make both lightning and pulse very potent, though. Greased lightning makes all enemies hit by grenades chain lightning to nearby enemies. This makes pulse essentially an arc bolt grenade with multiple chances at hitting an enemy. That's kinda sweet actually. Lightning grenade will be even more potent.
The other perk I'm really interested in is inclement weather. This causes melee/grenade kills to reduce one another. This has the potential to be extremely powerful, especially if kills from greased lightning chains proc the melee recharge.
Let's talk about what looks to be an amazing subclass!
Edit: whoops! I missed the obligatory 500 response bump-edit...soo.... 647 replies!! Woohoo!!
Edit 2: Apparently some Gamescom footage showed that Stormcaller will be getting arcbolt grenade instead of lightning grenade.

7 RespuestasNot sure yet. Heard while super was active it doesn't reduce damage taken making it easy to die while using.

2 RespuestasIt looks so cool! I recently started a warlock and it's hella fun. But compared to all the subclasses, especially the sunbreaker, it looks like the weakest of the bunch, even though nightstalker doesn't seem like it's a class for pvp

11 RespuestasThe stormcaller is cool and all but I watched footage of it it does so little damage in pvp and pve it takes a while to kill someone and I feel like some one can drop you easily with a sniper or shot gun if they sneak up behind you
-
1 RespuestaI don't think that is accurate. I am looking for the video but I am paint or they got lightening grenade. Their new grenade and the hunter arc grenade "arcbolt". The vid I watched showed that each new class is getting a shared grenade from each and then their own.

6 RespuestasThe best part is that the charged melee uses two hands

4 RespuestasOne of the YouTuber's that played the class described it as a late bloomer but always fun to play. I think out of the box the new subclass is going to be not as impressive as the others. When your skill tree is maxed, there should be some great enhancement perks available to wreak some havoc. It will also depend what the exotics made for it will do. They also stated in your trance state you're highly vulnerable. So that being said evasion perks will be needed. Overall I'll love the class, but it will take some skill to truely effective.

10 RespuestasEditado por iiJetpack: 6/30/2015 11:30:27 PMI actually went to E3 and only played with the storm caller for 2 matches of mayhem, I gotta say, the melee has some sick range and the super is just fantastic for getting multi kills. You kill one, the others are nearly dead!

Found this one gameplay of a youtuber at gamescon. His other videos give a nice description of some stormcaller builds he's thought of https://youtu.be/Aej9bbNYguk

It's like arc blade you use more super energy when ever you do the electric thing I bet there is a exotic like the third man

11 RespuestasI feel the super is a bit weak.Sure it's what we've always wanted to be a sith lord and it looks cools, but it looks very vunerable. i'd say the Titan's is definitely the strongest of the three and it's perks seem alot more powerful with syngergy. I do like the Stormcaller Synergy, but it just seems a bit lacking in comparison. Then again we have to play it to see how some of these perks work exactly and how viable they actually are.

Only issues I have are no really usable shields and healing (only on super proc with other abilities charged if you run the perk), the charged melee isn't always used (makes sense as it is kinda like throwing knife) and they fact that you can get -blam!-ed up close in stormtrance. Besides that it has high area and sustain damage as well as good perks.

1 RespuestaAlthough I probably won't use it as much, I feel like the chaining abilities would be great for hordes of enemies. Depending on the gameplay, stormcallers may become one of the most prized subclasses.

3 RespuestasLet's talk about sex.

1 Respuestaallot of stuff is subject to change, so i'm assuming the other unique grenades just aren't ready yet.

1 RespuestaThe perk that makes the super recharge faster while being in the vicinity of other players has be interested. Great way to get super quick and throw down a super and make orbs. The special melee. If you check videos you'll find him using two hands. Which I thinks is a little odd. The range while great. I feel is something we innately have as warlocks and wish it was something different all together. The mod that makes you do aoe dmg when the super is activated is practically a small fist of havoc right? There is another ability that does dmg when being revived. Which I see both its PVE and PVP implications. Will be most likely go unused. The different modifiers to the super are actually hard to choose from.

7 RespuestasThey will get one shotted by my golden gun #huntermasterrace

All 3 of the new granades are pretty hard to use. The titan's granade is mid okay. The hunter's granade is very easy actually. It's not offensive, but you can use it a lot. The stormcaller's is dirt shit. Your enemy has to not be moving. No really if it was an instant strike then it would be cool, but no. It has to take a sec. Pitty. Good thing i don't like warlocks.
