NOTE: This is an old post that somebody Necro'ed. Let me just say that now. My friends are all 34, and I really don't have a reason to whine now. However, the point still stands. These are my final thoughts, summarized by LoxleyTV:
The people that require lvl 34's for a raid are asking because they are bad at the game and need to be carried. As long as people are the minimum lvl for a raid I'm fine with taking them.
So to any asking for lvl 34's for VoG, you're probably just really bad at the game, it's not strategy you're just bad. It's not making the raid is easier at 34 because all damage scales down to the monsters. If your fighting a lvl 30 vex you're basically doing the damage of a lvl 30 guardian. Need proof go into the vault and shot some goblins, crits do 1505 damage with your 300 fatebringer. Now go and patrol earth. Again using your 300 fatebringer. Your not going to get 1505 head shots on the dregs because they are lvl 2 or 3 you might get around 85 to 100 damage on crits.
Edit: Note that I am a 34, and I do not personally have trouble getting into groups. Some of my friends, however, are just getting into the game, and are around the 30/31 level. They are getting booted from games left and right, even though I taught them what to do, and they often perform better than the level 34s in the game. I raised this topic as a debate.
Edit 2: Wow, thanks for all of the feedback! Didn't expect the tread to get so much attention. It seems to me that there are more people on the forums that don't really care about level than people that do. Some people have also pointed out that 34s are more likely to have maxed weapons, which is a 100% reasonable claim. Keep those thoughts coming!
Okay, so something's been bothering me lately. I've been around since the beta, and I've been along for the whole ride. I got to level 30 with vault of glass gear, 32 from crota gear, and now 34 on my warlock. Let me ask you guys something... Why must people be level 33/34 to get into a vault of glass hard mode raid nowadays? I remember when having 3 level 30s was a gift... Now level 30s get spit on. Having a 29 in vog is apparently unacceptable now, even though you can still do plenty as a 29. Are people seriously that clueless that they need all six members of their fireteam to have 365 ghally at level 34? It's kind of sad.

People feel like if someone is not level 34, then they took the easy path of vendor gear perhaps
-
Personally I think it's because people think they will die to easy. Even if the are right at the level the raid is. So what if they get shot up by a enemy 2 levels high than them. Not like it's a hard raid. (Unless it is vog hard) personally as long as they got experience they are an asset to the team.
-
If I see a post that says anything along the lines of lvl 32+ max weapons I just move on.... Those players generally fall into two groups. 1). Carry me please I suck and can't take time to learn this game 2). Actual elite players that just want to minimize their time and complete the task. (I don't have an issue with these players)
-
To many elitist muppets about.. Dunno how many times I have heard "last time we done this easy" But nowt worse than running with folks who haven't even bothered to glance at a guide or watch a vid. Monkey
-
I've noticed that people that generally ask for high levels tend to be noobs that needs to be carried. Most veterans don't care about what the level of the fireteam since they can hold their own.

Earlier I was playing with a group of Brits. A few of them were convinced that because I was a 33 rather than a 34, I ought to guard middle while forming the spire, not left. Never mind the fact that I had more Praetorian kills than the 34 with me. It wasn't a total loss though. The rest of it went fine. One of them taught me how to run Relic during the Gatekeeper section. Unfortunately, this same guy couldn't tell the difference between "Mars" and "Venus", or even "red" and "green".

2 RespuestasI got kicked from VoG normal with my level 29 Hunter last week. The Hunter is my alt but I guess level 29 means you can't run a 26 raid. Remember when 29's could run hard?
-
9 Respuestassaw a vog normal post saying all 34s max gallys
-
3 Respuestas29 would be strange nowadays as you can get 32 easily. But on topic, people think that the diffence of 1or 5 levels higher than the enemy matters in raids. Sure, you take a little[/i bit less damage and deal a little] bit more. But as long as you are on par with the enemies, got decent weapons and know what to do, you can run it perfectly
-
I think it's unfair as well. I got the game right after TDB dropped and did get to 31 and 32 faster than my friends but I was clueless as to what needed to be done in Raids. Thankfully most people were patient with me and I was a good listener. Now my friends and I Sherpa/carry people through Raids when I can. The only requirement being that they be within 2 Levels of the activity and listen closely. No mics required but a plus obviously. When taught right, they perform much better than some 33s and 34s I've had to run with. Particularly because they know their margin for error is so much slimmer. After that I release them into the wild and let them test themselves and find that they become experienced, well-rounded Raiders soon enough.
And people should really start realizing that we get level locked into the max level of the activity. No more of this 34 with maxed Ghally for VoG or CE nonsense.
5 RespuestasIdk maybe so you do more dmg and take less

Because i carry enough noobs in crucible and rnd PvE. I do not want to carry someone in PvE if i can choose the members of my team.
Friends get carried of course // if someone asks nicely, he has good chances, too. BUT i don't waste my time on purpose, plain and simple
I remember the good old days where everyone was 32 smashing hard mode Crota. These plebs are just hilarious.

11 RespuestasEditado por Zero the Remnant: 6/7/2015 9:11:59 AMSad that this is true. Today a group invited me to VoG...only for the leader to kick me because I am 32 & well... I joined: "Welcome. Equip your Gjallahorn plz." Me: I do not have that Exotic. Message: You have been removed from the Fireteam. I messaged my friend... "Seriously over a Gally?" Friend: "Your 32 too. So...Sorry to waste your time man." This is the case with Crota's End too. Apparently the same for PoE. Folks won't even go into 32 PoE unless you are atleast 34.
-
I never require 34s on lower level raids; however, I think 34 could be a fair requirement for some groups. I mean if you are going in with random people, would you trust the level 34 or the guy who couldn't get 3 Etheric Light in 3 weeks? Keep in mind, they know nothing else about this random person they will be inviting. It sucks for newer players and casuals, but I think it is a fair requirement.
-
Being any higher than level 30 in VoG makes zero difference. You will take the same damage as a level 30, and deal the same damage as a level 30. So every time I see posts saying that you MUST be level 34 for a vault run, I skip right past. Odds are, they have never done the raid, and don't understand how it works. Hence why they think that having level 34s will help them in any way.
-
Because people are idiots, plain & simple.
-
I'd say having a 29 should never happen because they can spend a little time on their own and just get gear that starts with 36 light... Do you need 30+ definitely not, but you are more likely to finish significantly quicker with 30+ than with 28+
-
There are a ton of people playing now that either didn't play VoG before the expansions, or didn't even play destiny until recently. Not only are they clueless about how level advantages work in raids, many of them are clueless about the mechanics of the raid in general. People think just because hard VoG is lvl 30, that they can jump right in as lvl 33/34 and do just fine. They don't realize that there is more to it than just running around killing things, and they hurt the team with their cluelessness. I have no problem with this in a normal mode raid, but if you haven't done a raid before, stay out of hard mode.
-
What? LoL People actually tell people they can't raid with them because they're not level 34? I carry people that want to do the raids weekly regardless of their level. If anyone wants to do a raid add me. RRs 87 Firebird I'm on Xbox One and am always happy to help out another player.

Makes for a quick run.

Editado por RUSH x Wyatt: 6/9/2015 8:42:52 PMAmount of damage dealt/received is based on the level gap. People assume because they take more dmg and do less that lower levels will be a burden.
-
I can understand 30+ for VoG hard. If you're not 30 yet you just haven't been playing long enough because with the HoW vendors it's stupid easy to hit 30+. Likewise I can understand 33+ for CE Hard because, well, all the enemies are 33 and it will just go loads faster if everyone is at least 33. But 33+ for VoG is just ignorant. Same damage output and same capacity to take hits at 30-34.

Editado por dustydog1234: 6/9/2015 8:42:12 PMIf the activity is level 34 or above, I don't feel like carrying scrubs
-
Maybe they want to see how fast they can beat the raid or maybe shoot for flawless.
-
They act like no one could ever beat a raid before 34 :/ elitism kills me.
