NOTE: This is an old post that somebody Necro'ed. Let me just say that now. My friends are all 34, and I really don't have a reason to whine now. However, the point still stands. These are my final thoughts, summarized by LoxleyTV:
The people that require lvl 34's for a raid are asking because they are bad at the game and need to be carried. As long as people are the minimum lvl for a raid I'm fine with taking them.
So to any asking for lvl 34's for VoG, you're probably just really bad at the game, it's not strategy you're just bad. It's not making the raid is easier at 34 because all damage scales down to the monsters. If your fighting a lvl 30 vex you're basically doing the damage of a lvl 30 guardian. Need proof go into the vault and shot some goblins, crits do 1505 damage with your 300 fatebringer. Now go and patrol earth. Again using your 300 fatebringer. Your not going to get 1505 head shots on the dregs because they are lvl 2 or 3 you might get around 85 to 100 damage on crits.
Edit: Note that I am a 34, and I do not personally have trouble getting into groups. Some of my friends, however, are just getting into the game, and are around the 30/31 level. They are getting booted from games left and right, even though I taught them what to do, and they often perform better than the level 34s in the game. I raised this topic as a debate.
Edit 2: Wow, thanks for all of the feedback! Didn't expect the tread to get so much attention. It seems to me that there are more people on the forums that don't really care about level than people that do. Some people have also pointed out that 34s are more likely to have maxed weapons, which is a 100% reasonable claim. Keep those thoughts coming!
Okay, so something's been bothering me lately. I've been around since the beta, and I've been along for the whole ride. I got to level 30 with vault of glass gear, 32 from crota gear, and now 34 on my warlock. Let me ask you guys something... Why must people be level 33/34 to get into a vault of glass hard mode raid nowadays? I remember when having 3 level 30s was a gift... Now level 30s get spit on. Having a 29 in vog is apparently unacceptable now, even though you can still do plenty as a 29. Are people seriously that clueless that they need all six members of their fireteam to have 365 ghally at level 34? It's kind of sad.

Bump, I use my unascended VoG gear and Crota gear in the raids cause why not?

1 RespuestaAnyone who cares about their time is not gonna wanna carry some underleveled guy through anything. That's just the way it is. Am I an elitist for not wanting to carry you through end game material, make it harder for myself by doing all the work and you get the same rewards if not better? Nope, I'm just a guy trying to get shit done with people who feel the same. Not spending 4 hours on a raid I've completed multiple times already cause n00b mcn00b wants to progress faster than everyone else had to.
-
1 RespuestaWhat system do you play? I'm on 360 and one.
-
If we are doing VOG be 30+ or GTFO. If we are doing Crota be 32+ or GTFO. If swordbearing be 34 or I'm doing it for you
-
A level 34 gives the air of experience. Could they stuck? Of course, but a random 34 has as better chance of having oracle weapons then a random 29-33. Its understandable. People just want to get it done, they are not looking to be sherpas

2 RespuestasStrategy, not elitism.

Considering I had 2 lvl 34s shooting oracles with SUROS just now...I can believe your friends are better. A lvl 27 would've been better.
They were even aiming in as well...reducing their DPS with focus fire.
1 RespuestaYour only as high of a lvl as the raid your going into so for all of the dumb asses that say 34 for VoG should just put the game down and go huff more gas right out of your mommy's car
-
They are playing with level 34 noobs that probably can't handle the raids. the end.
-
5 RespuestasYou have way to much time on your hands to write all that. And your dumb too. Nobody cares.
-
3 RespuestasBecause people are lazy. I understand not wanting inexperienced people running raids because they'll cause wipes and ultimately hold people up. But being a 34 and having max Gally and other shit is a bit overkill.
-
It depends on what that low level has, bofore it was likely that a 30 or a 32 would have all the gear required, now if you are 30 or 32 its likely that you have yet to put any effort into the game (at least for 30 as you can easily get to 32 in less than a week with the new gear, and then 33 with a poe run) and as such dont have shit.

Editado por NathanW18: 6/10/2015 3:58:10 AMAsking for a 34 to play in VoG is pretty stupid, but I see nothing wrong with a group asking for a 30. Yes, we used to complete the vault as 29's, but that's in the past. It's extremely easy to get to level 30 now. 29 is under levelled for the content. You do less damage and take more damage. When you're playing with randoms, you want to bring in people who you believe can do the job. A 29 might be able to, but he is at a disadvantage. It's easy to get a player at, at least level 30, so why take the 29? There is really no reason to be trying to enter a raid under levelled. You don't even need shards to level up vanguard armour any more.

RNG creates these situations where folk just want a quick run for the random loot drops. Beta boomers and Day 1 Guardians enjoyed the challenge, raged at the struggle, and grew in skill to this point where its annoying for us to see people actually requesting level 34 Gally help.
LF2M need help finding a gun in one of these rusted cars. Must have 365 Praetorian Foil for spamming cars (and crows because...Lol
I look at it this way If people really on max level things for low level events Really on ghorn instead of using game mechanics Then it saves me the trouble of playing with them to find out they are horrible.
-
there is no reason to be above the requied level for the activity a level 34 will do no more damage than a level 30 inside of vog with the same weapons nor will they take less damage people are just stupid
-
Help them you jerk
-
If you're going for flawless raider that helps a ton
-
Needing to be a 34 is like being a white blood cell spotting the t virus. You just gotta split and not splat ya no?
-
I would assume that a lot of the people asking for lvl 34s are people who remember how difficult it was to get up to 30 in vanilla Destiny. If you were 30, then you were a boss. Perhaps that kind of a mindset got carried over and a lot of people haven't thought about it logically.

8 RespuestasRemember when level 30s were the bomb? Pepperidge Farm remembers

What I do not like is when people say we need Gjallarhorn and maxed out. Not all of us even have it. So way discriminate against them? So it might take a bit longer to kill some one. It just a game. Have fun playing it. I do. The other thing that is frustrating is when people say we need 1 or 6 people and they never respond to your message.
-
Because someone being level 34 shows that they are commited to improving their character. While this is no guarantee that the player is highly skilled, it does increase the odds of landing a strong player.

Week of how release I did crota with level 34 crota virgins and it was the funniest thing ever lmao
