One of the reason why Christians forcing religion on you

So I don't like religious threads but I would like to tell why some Christians force their religion on you. The reason for this is because some of those Christians legitimately believe that anyone that does not believe WILL burn in hell. They're not trying to be ignorant, they believe that they're just trying to save you from something that no one should suffer from. But there are some that just want you to believe in what they do. There are also others that may have had an experience that caused them to believe so now they're trying to spread the word EDIT: I'm ready for my hanging

  • Religion is like a penis, some people have one other don't. It's ok to have one but when trying to shove it down people's throats that's when others get pissed

      • I suppose individuals who attempt to convert people to their way of thinking through philosophical means are far more wanted than people who kill for differences in theology.

      • I'll be completely honest. I myself am Christian, but it is unbelievably shameful for me and most Christians I know when someone forces their religion on someone else. It is simply ridiculous. As for how I see religion, I don't think it's just purely through Christianity that you can be saved. Honestly, even if you aren't religious, I don't think that means you'll be condemned! Everyone has the right to take their own path and believe whatever they want. But as soon as it's something they try to enforce on others, it gets incredibly annoying. On behalf of myself and my Christian friends who aren't completely overzealous religious buffs, I would like to apologize for anyone who tries to force anything on you. You believe what you want to believe. I think everyone deserves at least that much.

Not necessarily true, as a Catholic, I was brought up to believe that God has the final word, we as humans are not to decide who goes to Hell or Heaven. Everyone's a sinner. Ultimately it's God's final call. Family, teachers, Priests and Bishops have all told me this. There is hypocrisy within religions, especially Christianity, but hypocrisy exists everywhere, it's not found in excess in one particular area. Believe what you want, I'll stick with my beliefs.

          • I as someone who goes to church regularly, make disagreements with this. I for one don't believe non-Christians will burn in hell. I think the exact opposite of that. Only those who felt the presence of God and rejected him still are the ones who will burn in hell.

            • Someone is bleeding out on the side of the road. Do you proselytize to save their soul before they die or try to find/provide emergency medical assistance? Consider your answer before reading the spoiler.
If you really believed that the soul was of utmost importance, you would pick the former. Yet the truth is that any sane person will go for the latter. Deep down, even the most devout folks understand that we really only have one life to live. They know very well that life is precious because we don't get a second eternal one. Consider for just a moment that a person who blows theirself up for their faith may be more devout than you are, and assess why you don't practice the same level of faith. (I'm not saying you should blow yourself up, by the way...) -What are the limitations to your faith? -Why does your faith have limitations? -Could it be that, deep down, you don't actually believe as strongly as you profess? You say that you worry that I will waste my soul. I say that I worry you will waste your life.
Details after the break XD

                    • While that is true, there are also many other reasons as well. Some other reasons include that they feel that if they don't try to turn others then their inactions are just as condemning as those who don't believe. Some feel questionable but would surround themselves with devout followers to keep their thoughts at bay. Safety in numbers and the like. I was never a fan of the idea of shoving my beliefs down another's throat for 2 reasons. 1, as much as I believe, it is possible I'm not right. I'm only a man and I can't truly know what God wants or thinks. I can only assume based on everything around me. 2, when someone is only in because it was forced upon them, they don't really believe. So in all truth it doesn't count. That's like being with a person because everyone tells you that you two would do great together, but you don't even know or like the person. It's the choice to follow is what really matters.

                              • Or you know, they're atheist because they know about religion and think it's stupid, hence why they're atheist. Did that ever occur to you? Just because people aren't religious doesn't mean they know nothing about religion.
