Divide your cost by playtime
This is for Everyone saying this game or the DLC isn't worth the money... Divide your cost by your playtime in hours and you'll get what this game cost you per hour... If you actually played all the content including completion of the raid atleast once, there's no way you can even argue it wasn't worth it.. I see people always complaining its not enough content for the cost, but if you actually played all the content there's no way you paid more then a buck per hour of fun lol.. What the hell kinda game spoiled all of you..
EDIT: some are saying that there 200+ hours of playtime don't count because they didn't have fun during it..... You guys make my brain hurt lol
EDIT: So.. Apparently some may be forced to play against there will .. In this case please don't use the simple formula because it won't work for you..
PS: I'm really sorry that this is happening to you I didn't realize that there was some kind of sick slavery ring where people are forced to play games against there will..

it could simply be there is nothing better to play right now, so we are stuck playing Destiny. that all changes in just over a week from now though.

1 Replyok look the people jabing at DBM, i agree with him Only because now a days people watn everything RIGHT now and want more and more, you have to understand the time it takes to make a game like this and the cost some times they have plans for things but not the funding hence why they sell the game early so they can get teh funding from the sold copies to make more content

Completion of the raid doesn't get to count. No matchmaking. At the point where the game itself is not sufficient enough to allow you to play the content is the point in which the game does not get credit for having that content. Furthermore, it's about entertainment derived from the game, not hours.

2 RepliesThe thing is if you went to see a movie for 2 hours then went to eat after and spent $60 let's say (hypothetical) and the movie sucked and the food was only half cooked you would want your money back. Yeah you went out and spent your time watching the movie and eating but you would feel ripped of. It's the same feeling. I like destiny so I guess I can't complain but this game doesn't have enough content alone comparatively to cost as much as some other games

You could spend your time spanking it over the phone with your buddies and it would be worth the same amount of time spent playing destiny. NOTHING. You can not equivocate gaming to going out irl and being entertained. It's a different experience. Gaming is a hobby. Like reading Like porn Like Remote Control Vehicles Like model painting It's not 'entertainment' It's not just something to fill time with because it's cost effective. It's a part of you. Casuals ruin gaming with your entertainment/$ argument. You should spend money on quality when you have a hobby. Destiny is not quality. It's not even quantity. It's trash. And so is everyone who defends it. Go ruin a different hobby. Go collect bottle caps if you are so worried about entertainment/$

I've paid €49.99 for games that I finished in 6 or 7 hours and never gone back to so in terms of how much time I got out of, yeah I guess it's good value for money. But I'll take quality over quantity any day and quality is where this game is lacking. Of course no one is forcing me to play the game that's lacking quality and I have put in at least 90 hours so something keeps me coming back.

3 RepliesBoth sides of this argument make my brain want to go on vacation. While reading this thread I received several messeges from my brain threatening to go on strike. If you like buy it if you don't then don't what does it matter what the next person likes or dislikes. Before the latest patch I was ready to buy all the DLC post patch I am skeptical due to repeated boot to orbit and log screen issues and being unable to group up with friend's that finally picked up the game. If the problems get fixed then yeah we will all probably pick up a season pass or whatever. But that's just me that doesn't effect any of you nor should it. Live and let live game and let game. Good hunting guardians.

3 RepliesSo free games should always be on top of the list because as soon as you invest any time in them, you already have an infinite cost to time played ratio... Not to make a stupid point, but simplistic ways to look a cost and return nets you simple answers to much more complicated issues. Even if i ignore the free aspect and compare Destiny to other online games, it still wouldn't rank that high.

The game was worth it, but these hours I play now are just about finishing up bounties and trying to make my hunter look sexy. I still need to do more VoG too for the armor. I just can't wait for the DLC.

before you can divide the cost by the number of hours played, you must first divide the number of hours played by half to compensate for the delayed release of content, the hook that made us believe it would get better, and then again by half because the events that came were now where near as exciting or executed to the degree in which they were repeatedly described to us by the developers. sorry bro, your head hurts cuz you forgot your helmet today.

i used this argument after the first week, when all these people had 60 hours already..... its like how is it a dollar an hour is not worth it..... unfortunately people are not smart enough to make the connection of if you dont like it dont play it, if your playing it there is some part of you enjoying it

This game has made me money. I play all day at work (thanks big business micro-management) and did not have to purchase a copy. I've seen more beaver than Ron Jeremy. I would be the last segment on a 1000 person human centipede for something else to do is this game. Let us all join together in the Tower for a mass Guardian suicide. Hopefully something shiny will catch my attention and kick me to reality.
