If I read a book and then determine the book is no good + decide not to buy the sequel.
I don't turn around and say
"Jeez, what was the price of entertainment per hour for reading that book?"
No , I think:

Destiny is a pop up picture book. Rated T for Teen.
I play videogames to appreciate the art, depth, story, attention to detail, and community. This has none of those things except art.
No matter how many hours of destiny you played the time is worthless!
You could spend your time spanking it over the phone with your buddies and it would be worth the same amount of time spent playing destiny.
NOTHING.
You can not equivocate gaming to going out irl and being entertained.
It's a different experience.
Gaming is a hobby.
Like reading
Like porn
Like Remote Control Vehicles
Like model painting
It's not 'entertainment'
It's not just something to fill time with because it's cost effective.
It's a part of you.
Casuals ruin gaming with your entertainment/$ argument.
You should spend money on quality when you have a hobby.
Destiny is not quality.
It's not even quantity.
It's trash.
And so is everyone who defends it.
Go ruin a different hobby.
Go collect bottle caps if you are so worried about entertainment/$

Gaming as a hobby means different things to different people. Your argument against the original poster carries no weight as you fail to contradict his statement that people who claim them game has no content and have spent more than 100-200 hours playing it. You only make reference to what gaming means to you, which is entirely subjective. You then proceed to ridicule anyone who disagrees with you with blanket statements that hold no truth. You seem like you have an above average intelligence, try to discuss things constructively as the outcome is much sweeter.

The game doesn't have content. You can spend 100+ hours having fun on pong. But does pong have content? Nah. Play time is not an accurate representation of content.

Then, should content not be a factor as to how we judge a game? If hundreds of hours could be spent playing pong, or a similar game, then surely the amount of content can't be used to judge the overall quality of the product, but instead how much fun the content is?

I'm saying the people that do are lowering the quality of my favorite hobby, gaming, by choosing to enjoy this title that was overstated and was chopped up to sell in pieces. I hate to use other games as an example, but skyrim was chalk full of content, same price. I spent a crap load of time on that game, and I'm a shooter kinda guy. Destiny is like playing the first beta of to a great game but the beta resets every Tuesday. But you can keep your stuff and level. Just no more content. All teaser lore can be found in the grimoire cards. That's the best way I can explain why destiny doesn't appeal to many. Destiny is a tease to a much better game.

Oh I fully agree that Destiny is just a shadow of the greatness that it can achieve. I said the same thing about a f2p game called Warframe when it first came out. With the way they add content and features to that game it's pretty much exactly like it's still in beta. I'll also agree that it's a worrying type of pattern to see games come out hardly finished and are just worked on over time. However, Destiny remains a blast to play and that's why I still do.

As a child, to read it to their children, to reminisce reading it as a child. I don't see too many avid readers obsessing over the same book of DR. Suess for 100+hours.

Entertainment is subjective, for instance, I choose to play video games, not because it's cost effective, but because it entertains me. I could afford to go out every night, but I'd rather have some balance to the activities that I enjoy. Regardless of the activity if you enjoy it your brain is making those happy chemicals, you don't produce different happy chemicals when you go out and have a good time, it's really all the same.
