Saturn as most know already is a Gas Giant. I'm sure everyone here knows that gas is not solid, therefore you couldn't walk on it. Now I see people's argument with this that the Traveler could alter it, or the Star Wars thing, and even that it's a video game. All very good points, but at least other planets in game can actually be walked on. I find a "Cloud City" to also be highly implausible. This all being said, a fully rendered Saturn in game was shown in previous Destiny builds. It looked splendid, but I would actually much rather enjoy Saturn and its vast amount of orbiting moon's. Titan and Rhea as examples would be quite amazing, and I imagine looking over a cliff, while being amazed by Saturn and its storms. Kinda like if anyone has had the pleasure of playing Crucible on The Burning Shrine, and basking in the glow of the Sun. Being a space nerd, I am always stopping to enjoy the view of planetary bodies. There are plenty of places to explore in our Solar System. I just hope that one day the developers at Bungie will provide us these wonderful sights.

Totally with you there. I made a thread about a few backs, in which I was largely flamed for it. Mars and Venus are plausible. Jovian planets as locations are not - even the cloud city is dubious at best due to the insanely high winds of a gas planet. I'd love to be on the moons, though. Most people just won't listen to the logic, though. Anything they can grasp at to point out why you shouldn't think about things they will, regardless of whether or not they're true. Some people even tried to argue that Venus was a Jovian planet, too. ha.

Think we'd be in the rings or somethin
-
I'm mad because they said you could go to Saturn
-
Dude.. there's a map on Mercury. It's like a billion degrees yet somehow there's glass

Too op needs a nurf

Edited by RonziIIa187: 10/24/2014 6:42:05 AMI think by Saturn most people mean one of its moons.
-
and if you went there, it would stink, like farts.
-
Only thing that bothers me about it is that it's not in the game.
-
Dat methane rain on Titan, tho...
-
But they are reliable and safe cars...
-
Let us take out those naavi

At one point in the game it was mentioned that the Vex turned Mercury into a machine almost overnight. Surely the vex could have done something to make some solid ground to raid on Saturn.

Dude you can't even go to Saturn in this game, and plus the Traveler makes it so you can live on planets. The moon in Destiny has Gravity, and other planets have a lot of life. The Traveler has the power to create life, so if Saturn is made out of dust the Traveler could make all the dust to dirt, and make build it into hard rock so you can live on it. For one I don't see why you are complaining about a planet you can't even go to in the game. Each planet in Destiny was made livable by the Traveler, as in the beginning of Destiny when you see the Traveler make it rain on Mars. Things about game this game you point good facts like it's a gas giant, but it is science fiction. If people have a problem with the game then by all means stop playing it, and send it back to the store. It is not that hard, If you don't like a game get rid of it. -
I thought that Saturn will have some sort of huge space station you can walk on. Altering the atmosphere on gas giants is one thing, but how do you alter the insane gravity or atmosphere pressure. Would crush anything.
-
You can see Mars from the moon...
-
They should add a crucible map in the sun
-
Lore is that the Vex transformed it into a mechanical foundation.
-
Damn, that whole thought process and not once did it occur that maybe the grimoire might have your answer?

Saturn was going to have an area that was a derelict starship/ space station in its rings. It was going to be a huge, old, abandoned starship area, not much actual space on the actual planet of Saturn from the way Bungie talked in advertisements describing Saturn. Also, I'm tired of people talking about how unrealistic the gas giants in Destiny would be when it is seriously 100% no more unrealistic than the other planets, because NONE of them are even REMOTELY CLOSE to being habitable. It is also speculated that the gas giants do have metallic, solid cores, and that is likely since they generate extremely powerful magnetic fields which are necessary to shield their huge atmospheres, because planets can't keep atmospheres without magnetic fields protecting the atmospheres. Mars has a very weak magnetic field, and therefore has very, very little atmosphere.

Edited by SaturnAscension: 10/23/2014 9:06:06 PMIve always enjoyed the look of Saturn. 26 Earth years to make a single revolution. Google "saturn ascending" if youre interested in Saturn's cosmological and philosophical influence on maturity and enlightenment.

I'm pretty sure Venus isn't as lush, being so close to the sun. Even though Saturn is a gas giant it has to have solid formation underneath to maintain enough gravity to keep the gases from escaping.
-
If course it's gonna be the moons

The big problem with Saturn was it had like 9 processors, cost more than the PS1, was incredibly difficult to code for and was released into an environment unfavorable to sega due to their recent failures with the Segacd and 32x. It has some awesome games on it like Daytona USA, Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Cop.

Saturn revolves around the sun, roughly, every 29 years. Good idea to play on the moons.
-
Its a game dude chill.
