The Next Raid and My Thoughts on The Matter.

Now, we all know that the next raid is going to involve Crota. If not... Well, you know now. I'm going to speculate about how the raid MAY play out. First: Entrance. The last Raid involved a synchronized and planned out assault on three platforms. You would take them, then defend them from Praetorians. I'm feeling a different vibe here. The Vex are interesting adversaries in that they take treat the universe like a computer. The Hive, on the other hand, are a bit more... Magical. I'm thinking attack on Hive "Royalty." I have theorized that the Hive is like a Bee Hive, or Ant Nest, that has a single (most likely female) localized ruler before. As we all know, Crota is a male. And the God-King of the Hive. What if one of his "Wives," have to be destroyed in order to gain access to his lair? (I deny that she would be his "Wife," since the Hive wouldn't likely be a social species.) Kill his "Wife," get her access key, enter a large complex of some sort (perhaps a palace or ship). That's how you enter, theoretically. Second: First Defender. The Templar was a high powered defender, using abilities that were never encountered before, so I will describe the characteristics of the being, and not its abilities. I'm thinking either a very large Wizard, not unlike Phogoth, or a very large Ogre. They may even throw something new at us. A new type of enemy that we have yet to encounter. The Wizard/Ogre would be attackable right from the get go. Sort of like a Strike, but maybe only certain parts would be able to be hurt once? That's open for debate. I don't think they would make it the same as the last raid. They wouldn't anger the community that much. So there would be slight differences. The Oracles and Confluxes are great mechanics, but they may go in a different direction. I refuse to speculate on exactly how, simply because I don't want to be completely wrong (or right.) Third: Puzzle. The last puzzle was a maze, in which being spotted meant death. I'm thinking very fast Thralls here. You would get in your Sparrow, or a vehicle provided, and try to get away. There may be paths that you can take, obstacles, ect. Getting hit by an obstacle would mean death. The wrong paths would be trapped. Stuff like that. Fourth: Parkour. This was a simple puzzle, and is either hilariously fun or exceptionally annoying, depending on who you are and what class you play. The Parkour was interesting, and rarely does a game add this into its levels. I'm hoping for another segment of Parkour. Just so I can do it over and over while that one guy in my FT struggles to complete it once. But, my hopes may not be realized. They may try something LoTR-ish. Remember the scene when they're escaping the Mines? Arrows being fired, segments of staircase missing, ect. Perhaps something like that. Auto Turrets, with average aim, may attack you while your Warlocks help other get across. Warlocks get an extended air time, gliding far and fast. A simple "Piggy-Back," mechanic would make this pretty fun. Or annoying. Depends on the criteria above. End: Big Man in Town. Crota should be the end boss. He should be... Normal Knight sized. His Sword was normal, so I guess he should be too. He may send waves of his children against us. We destroyed his Melee Weapon, as well as the ones who made it, so logic dictates he uses a ranged weapon. But, a Melee Boss would be... Interesting. We might have to exploit a certain weakness or something, and his Wall of Darkness may cover his entire body. And you may have to attack then. From above, or even better... From below. ________________________________________ Those are my thoughts and theories. My half-speculations. My crazy imaginations. I would like some additions here, some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. And maybe some love???? ;-)

 • What gameplay mechanics are you expecting? The vex had sync plates. I'm inclined think the Hive will use a darkness mechanic + hordes of thralls! And yea, they are a Hive-mind so I expect we'd be entering from point to point killing Queen Wizards or King Knights or something
