This is probably semi well known, but I have never seen it posted before. Still, seeing as how this week's Nightfall strike is Sepiks, I figure it will help somebody.
Now, as you all know, the weak point if the Walker tanks is the legs. What some don't seem to know is that you can also shoot of the little gun on the side of the tank's "head" that charges up, glows blue, and fires the bursts of ~4 explosive rounds.
Shooting this gun does a considerable amount of damage too. It almost does as much as a covered leg shot. When the gun comes off, it makes the fight considerably easier as the tank loses one of its best means of attack.
I hope this helps some people out!

Icebreaker + solar panelled building at the back. /thread.
-
Thanks man gunna try this out
-
Drive up to the far right tunnel directly beside the walker. You only have to deal with an occasional Dreg and the Walker can't get low enough to fire under the overhang. Why people snipe from the back confuses me given the Captains spawn there. I have yet to come close to dying and have been damaged once.

How come the walker doesnt move more then 10 feet? I should walk around a little or jump or something The walker is boring to fight even in its hardest form
-
Thank you, I've never seen this done before, that will make this strike much more bearable
-
How did I not know about this earlier?
-
Will definitely try it next time we do it :)

Edited by Sem50: 10/19/2014 9:34:03 PMEveryone using the same tactic? Here comes another hot fix. Walker will now teleport randomly around map, can fly, tea bag dead guardians while chanting "rubber baby buggy bumpers for Aetheon" . Bungie doesn't want everyone doing the same thing because then it's not balanced.
-
Did this the other day because of this post, he's a kitten without that gun!
-
Hmm, wow, good to now thanks!
-
Another little trick is when the walker is down (like with a broken leg) you can jump ontop of the glowy thingy with ethier a shot gun or fustion rifle and when it does the arc pulse wave thingy, instead of almost killing you it dosent even take out your shield, i use this trick to kill the walker when im feelin dangerous.
-
If u go left from where u walk into the area and jump on the roof with solar panel looking things you can't get hit
-
Never even considered this... Good find.

Why do the friggin fallen walkers have more interesting mechanics than most of the other bosses in destiny do?
-
Why does the unarmored leg take less damage than the armored leg? Logic!
-
Hi VERY COOL TO KNOW, this knowledge will save many a guardians life in the ongoing war. cheers
-
I never knew that. Thanks for the tip!
-
Also when shooting at the legs aim for the inside of the leg, you will know you hit it when the damage multiplies by 4
-
A1 (random numbers letters) scout rifle and ice breaker, both do full dmg from the entrance of the room and tank will not fire at you that far away. Super easy solo
-
I knew this a while ago. That's always my primary target.
-
mind blown
-
Public event walker is easy, I just run around it dumping my pocket infinity on it even on my own. Strike same strategy except I get beside the big concrete pillar on the far left, except in night fall then it's far left building in the back and sniping
-
I used to bother with this. Then I realize that it's much faster to just slap down Illuminated Weapons of Light and blow off all the legs.
-
Yeah, good tactic, been doing this since the Alpha. More useful at Lvl 24 & Nightfall level, when the damage it deals is more dangerous.
