    • I blame this on all the hall monitor idiots crying about "cheesing the boss" on the forums. I didn't care for it but I don't care what other players do. You bit off more than you could chew by bringing all this attention to the Raid and ruined it for everybody including yourselves. You got exactly what you wanted and more you damn fools.       • :) This "fix" may have been a little bit about Bungie getting back at all the people that used the cheese kill. If it works out that it is too much for everyone to get they will "fix" it again. Just run with it and see how it goes.

It's not hard to get. Like, at all. If you can't do either of these things you need to improve your gaming fundamentals before stepping foot in VoG. I like the idea of assigning roles, but is it that big of a deal? If VoG would have been like this from the get-go we wouldn't even be having this conversation. It wouldn't be an issue.

      • They should fix the broken aspects of the encounter such as: Not teleporting when running through the portal Not being able to pick up the relic The relics shield randomly cutting out People dying inside the relics shield randomly It's good to see they're fixing the cheese method but increasing the difficulty by adding randomness into the fight when it is already so inconsistent just seems ludicrous to me.

      • Definitely makes it a lot harder without actually making it harder. Everybody is just mad cuz they have to make a strategy revolving around everybody knowing what they are doing while accounting for the fact that anyone can be teleported. Yeah, its gonna be a lot harder now. Get over it.

        • This is just comical to me. This is Destiny's endgame boss and you people are whining over this change? Seriously, you're bad. This fight is so unbelievably simple compared to encounters in other mmorpg. Last boss fight I did was heroic garrosh. This fight is laughably simple compared to 99 percent of boss fights in WoW. You're bad, get over it and go play something mindless like CoD.

        • I wouldn't revise it. It only shows how frustrated you really are. The point is by making a set encounter random takes a lot of the fun out of it. Maybe there are 1 or 2 people who can't use the relic well. Their entire team knows this so they've been sticking to another role. Those two get ported along with someone who is set to kill oracles efficiently and has yet to learn to use the relic. You now wipe every time this team comp or similar circumstance happens. Why? Because Bungie's endgame is too easy and the only way to make it more of a time sink is to throw the shitty rng from their loot rolls into the actual encounters.

        • Honestly what's with the crying? People will still have roles, but now they'll have to be set with a quicker reaction to who gets ported in and people cry? What's wrong with learning all parts of the raid so that EVERYONE can do it competently? What's so hard once you are in? Inside - 1 person - relic holder > take out ground mobs/cleanse > put up shield in middle platform 2 people - clear oracles Outside - Clear out supplicants, keep portals open. Really that's all it comes down to. The only hard part is player individual skill which already can cause a wipe as it is now.

        • Now there's no need for proper role establishment. Just hope and pray the weakest players(level wise, play wise, and experience wise) don't get sent in to fight the Minotaur/Oracles. I've played with some people who I've seriously doubted had proper control of their own two thumbs. Automatic wipe if they got sent in so we made them stay out and keep the portals up with the other experienced player.

        • Everyone's role is the same, kill stuff. Sometimes you use a gun, sometimes a relic. Sometimes you stand in this spot, other times you stand in that spot. This isn't hard to figure out.

          • If you know all 4 roles in the fight, the Atheon encounter will be cake. harpy killer portal opener Shield barer oracle killer Its not that hard. It takes ~8 minutes of good execution. This means that practice is the only way to be good on this raid. And cookie cutter tactics will be replaced by repetition and execution. This also paves the way for match making raids.. because those groups will have little to no hope of completing the raid, yet the people will have gotten what they asked for

            I expect future raid content to not have the same loop holes to defeating bosses. I am excited to see the harder difficult and to see people beat them legitly.

          • Remember your first time in VoG ? Did you have Epilogue? Visions? Anything? No. You just went in with the weapons at your disposal and beat the raid with friends. Nothing is going to change here except the fact that every person in the party have to know what to do in each situation (which is a good thing). And besides shootin oracles is probably the easiest role at Atheon fight. Besides it adds some thrill and surprise effect to the already a stale fight. Man the f up and stop qqing.

              In my group the people who don't get teleported do so because they are dedicated to building their characters around the outside role. 2 warlocks. One in sunsinger for grenade spam and the other in voidwalker for nova bombing groups of supplicants around the portals during clutch time when the portal team is coming through if needed. Last person is a defender titan or a gunslinger hunter for either damage buff pre bubble in the middle or quick clearing of supplicants if we get overwhelmed for whatever reason. Those of us outside prep for every burn phase by making sure we have high impact weapons fully loaded and max ammo. Machine guns, sniper rifles and a mix of primaries for harpy clearing. We even plan out who jumps where when the burn phase is over to cover both sides from harpies. This new "difficulty" is a pure cluster f of random. There is no skill required, just random luck. What happens if you get two defender titans teleported and a sunsinger warlock. No one would have a friggen super able to clear the ads at all. You can't plan who carries what heavy weapon suited to add clearing inside the portal or to burning the boss while the portal team gets back. This is one of the dumbest moves bungie has done yet. It removes any kind of planning that people have been doing for weeks now. The encounter is not even suited to random people being teleported as each side of the encounter is obviously built around different styles of play. Fix the bugs bungie, stop "fixing" the game. 3 Hard mode clears, 7 normal clears and I still don't have the raid boots (5 chatterwhites). There is already too much damn RNG in this game, stop adding more. It doesn't make the game more difficult, only more frustrating.

              • This is a good thing. Now players can't be dragged through the raid. You have to know what to do. If your mad about the fix its because you suck and probably finished the raid because someone watched YouTube and push him off anyways. If u have a good team and communicate this wouldnt bother you anyways. Long story short you suck ass. Get better

              • I don't like it, but will adapt. It is a bunch of bull with saying the assemble a team and everyone has a role, then just pull the rug out from under our feet. It's like there saying," Haha, we got you guys." Its totally going back on what they said. I can look over all that. The biggest part I'm upset about is that everybody will be reluctant to help new or inexperienced people out. This is the end game for now. And while I know not everybody will experience it, for one reason or another, it should be an option for those who want to. I run it a lot with newer people, who it is their first time, and its plenty difficult showing them how everything works. I hate to say it, but I'll be more selective going through the raid. I'm going to select somebody who has ran it multiple times over a first timer. Ruining the sense of community and meeting new people to play with.
