Leave this thread dead already for -blam!- sakes, it has fallen and and came back multiple times. Let it die, I'm tired of getting notifications on my phone because of this thread.

You are supposed to choose your faction and represent them against players from other factions. If you hover your cursor over the crucible game types you will see that each one has a "faction sponsor". That is why it takes crucible marks to buy their gear
