I'm going to let the video speak for itself. I hope Bungie fixes this. The voidwalker Warlock is a very strong character for making Atheon lose his footing, and my personal feelings on this is that Atheon should not go down(literally) so easily and this may work on future bosses...The mighty Crota fell to his doom because he feared the dark...irony...

Need to add a little. I have done Atheon on hard "legitimately" and it is very rewarding to do so. When me and my friends discovered that void bombs makes Atheon move, not get pushed, we were having trouble beating him on hard mode. It was foolish wipes with the portal group. So to "distract" us to feel fresh again we played around with Atheon. We have a running joke that you use the boxes to stop the praetors from entering during the gatekeeper part. Anyway we kited him to the corner and eventually figured out how to lay the bombs down and there he went. Hopes this clears some stuff up for you guys.

1 ReplyDude. I found another exploit. It is called the AIM exploit. This is huge. Some players take advantage of the game and aim using the left trigger when they shoot at stuff. How will this not be patched by Bungie. I know your pain Mr. Original Poster. We all know you run straight towards the boss hip firing.

Yea, this definitely makes up for all the times I've had to hear "Sh**! I didn't get warped through" or "it took the wrong people" during the battle. Not to mention the black screen and 0 second timer bugs.

5 RepliesMost of the responses here sound a lot like "if bungie didn't want us to farm at the loot cave, then why did they put it in? It's clearly intentional, so it's not an exploit." Bungie is not perfect, they will make mistakes, and there will be oversights. This is clearly one of them. Bungie has stated that they will never punish players for clever use of mechanics, but I wouldn't expect this method to be viable much longer. Atheon's not that scary, anyway.

Reason he doesn't attack is because once teleported he stops attacking, and instead spawns supplicants. It's a legit way of completing it if you can't find a good team and people keep leaving. Didn't think of pushing him off lol.

Using these methods just takes the fun out of the game and the sense of accomplishment. Its cool that you figured this out but honestly I wish this stuff did not show up on the forums and instead be shown to bungie so they can fix it vs publicly displaying a flaw

14 RepliesNice job finding the quickest way to kill Atheon. I probably wouldn't have posted it here on the forums because the chance of them patching it. But I look at it this way, if we can fall off the map and die, then the enemies and bosses should be allowed to do the same. For all the dumbasses calling this a cheat or exploit, you're all idiots. It's called strategy. You use your surroundings to your advantage.

17 RepliesFor those who are saying this is an exploit: Yes. This is an exploit. Is it glitched? Probably, probably not. Depends on what you mean and what exactly is 'glitched.' Can the boss be knocked back? Yes. Is there a pit nearby? Yes. Exploit it. Push him into the pit. It's legal, and clever use of strategy. The only questionable things I see are his arm clipping into the pillar, and the lack of any combat on his part. In any case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, as far as I can tell. Finding an easy way to kill the boss =/= cheating.

Some of you guys being ridiculous. Any enemy can fall off of any map that has a drop, so long as enough force is applied. I myself have done, and so have others. And [i]NOW[/i] it's an expolit?! What's next, firing are guns will be considered exploiting? Holy hell

I beat it on hard and was lucky enough to get the vex mythoclast.. Not the right way to beat it, it shouldnt be that way and i know bungie didnt mean to have it that way neither.. needs to be patched quick. Atheon code should be good enough for it not to fall backing off like that.

4 Repliesyou know that one mission with the three psions that come out of the portals? I did this to one of them by accident. They were by the edge of a map and I fired a rocket launcher and he went up and over to his death lol. I think the players in this video should've jumped down after Atheon and fought him on his way down.
