If you are in a fire team or strike skipping a cutscene would mess you up, so that's for the weekly strikes and such.
Or they could have done it like similar games where either (a) everyone has to skip or (b) the leader controls the skipping. This also doesn't explain why you can't skip when alone.
Also they probably spent a lot of money for animation/voice actors for those so they don't want people skipping them.
How is this true for this game and not others? I'm sure that developers would prefer you to watch them, but most still give control to the player. This is really not a valid reason.
Also it tells you what you are doing and it isn't that long so can you guys please stop complaining about cutscenes.
This also applies to every other video game with cutscenes. It isn't a valid reason why you can't skip them, especially after you have seen them before. Sorry to say, but your logic is deeply flawed. You just sound like an apologist with posts like yours.

 • I just want to see people stop complaining cause bungee has probably seen more than enough so yes they are bad reasons that I came up with in a minute but the point is valid

 • No, the point is not valid if you can't provide good reasons for that point . . . I get it, the complaining is annoying. But complaining about something that has merit to the complaints is perfectly acceptable. When people bitch about the loot system, argue against it because there are very valid points to counter it. What to know the real reason why we can't skip cutscenes? 1) Deliberate design decision - I argue that this would have been a bad decision because it removes control from players and it goes against industry standards, which set expectations from your player audience. -or- 2) Design Omission - They simply forgot to include it in the design and it never got prioritized to add it in when the mistake was realized. -or- 3) Removed from scope - Complexities such as behavior when in a fireteam would create additional complexity. This increase in effort caused this item to be removed from scope (put on the back burner) due to other pressing issues. They chose to not allow people to skip even when alone to prevent inconsistencies in user experience. Those are the 3 most likely scenarios. Source: I work in software design.
