Update - Destiny Year One Art Contest
With the recent announcement of the Destiny Year One Art Contest I'm going to revisit these designs and do some polishing up as well as creating some more shirt designs based off hunter cloaks. I spent a lot of time on Destiny getting as many of the best looking cloaks that I possibly could across all the expansions and I feel this could tie in perfectly with what I was working on here.
Thank you everyone for the support and I'll keep things updated here as needed!
Original Post:
After having a lot more spare time now that the Destiny Beta has completed I continued with an idea that I had about 6 months ago of taking Hunter cloak design concepts and turning them in to T-Shirts.
Because let's face it, who wouldn't want to be able to wear some of the awesome cloak designs?
Currently I've created some shirt designs (mostly based on in-game cloaks) that you can view via the links provided. Below is a list of the current ones that have been created.
A Guardian Rises - based on the Tower banners
Cloak of Perception
First in Flight - based on the nameplates given out for playing the Destiny Beta.
Legend Rising - based on the nameplates given out for stress testing the Destiny Beta server capacity.
Astrolord Cloak
Cloud Walker Tribute
Cosmic Joke
Cult/Trinary Star
Dead Zone Revolution
Legend of Six Coyotes
Mantle of Gheleon
Quantum-Phoenix Blue
Strength of the Pack
Venom of Ikaheka
The Seventh Truth - based on an old Hunter cloak concept art
I've also begun working on creating wristbands based on some of the Warlock bonds found throughout the game. Below is the current list of the ones I've completed.
"Phantom Wisdom"
Skorri's Iron Bond
And I've also started working on bandannas based on the Titan Marks (meant to be worn in the back pocket and function similarly to a Mark). Current list of completed ones is below.
Mark of Resolve
Moctezuma Polyphonic
I've sent a message to Bungie's media email and am waiting for a reply as to ensure creating these, or crowdfunding them, would not infringe on their copyrights. Thanks for the support!
LINK UPDATE: After many days of work I've finally been able to convert some of the T-shirt designs to Spreadshirt along with creating posters and phone cases (no sweatshirts as of yet since Spreadshirt charges a lot for them). I've begun working with 2 others in creating a project called Frontierr which seeks to bring video game inspired content to life while benefiting charity. We've decided that for the very little amount of proceeds we receive on our creations from Spreadshirt and Redbubble that we will donate all of this to the Child's Play Charity. I know that these shirts and designs are not the same as the concepts posted here, I had aimed way too high for something that would cost too much money and time for everyone involved. This is definitely a more down-to-earth attempt in creating something awesome that costs much less and helps a good cause. Without the support I've received here on the bnet forums this wouldn't have ever happened. Despite the disappointment if you're still interested you can click here to visit Frontierr.
Thank you guys again, I can't wait to see were this takes us!
Activision Shutdown: Well I guess this is where the journey ends. Not even 24 hours after the launch of Frontierr and the Guardian Collection (to which all proceeds were donated to Child's Play) Activision has contacted us and stated that we are infringing upon their property. I'm working with DestinyDispatch now to see if there's any way to get permission to continue forward. Until then the website (http://frontierr.net), Spreadshirt, and Redbubble have been frozen. Most of the email can be read here: http://puu.sh/aObKr.txt
Thanks again everyone, it's a shame things didn't work out better.

Thank you activision for telling me to tell everyone I know never to buy your products again

Dead Zone Revolution and Cloak of Perception look so sick
-
BEGINNING TRANSMISSION: (Low melodious hum.) Well it is simple. Standard company policy states that all creative suggestions without proper permissions will be declined. In your case it is a simple copyright infringement since you are making money off of material that is not yours. Without the proper permissions to use the material for a financial gain, even if all proceeds were given to a charity, the company has the right to deny you usage. The idea of these items are very cool and creative, but next time make sure you have proper permissions before starting. ENDING TRANSMISSION:

I'll take the blue grey black one in the front please.

The shirts look great. I hope all goes well for you.

Edited by Kurupter: 8/14/2014 2:07:50 AMTime for you to go on the black market and sell it at the flea market a well. J/K. The tricky issue is you're using a base design and concepts from the creators at Bungie. At the same time your work is original as well except for those wrist bands, total knock off. I wouldn't don't deal with Activision, its a money hungry company. Instead deal directly with Bungie as they own the rights to those designs, and see if you can sell your concepts so they could sell it at their store. I don't know how the company feels about what you did, but you might have a job of some sorts with them if you play your cards right. Then we can see authentic authorized work you made for sale on the Bungie market.

I will keep watching out for you guys. One, the merch you're making is brilliant. Two, the fact that you're donating your proceeds is fantastic. Keep your head up Guardian.
-
So annoyed that they pulled the old store down. Never got a FWC shirt.
-
See if www.gamer-heaven.com will work with you.
-

I liked this before, and it really looked like I was going good and it was great idea. Now I just love this is really great think. The designs on the hunters cloaks are fantastic, and when you put them on those shirts they look amazing. Great work man.

God dammit Activision...I was going to buy A few shirts!
-
I would buy one, only if Activision wasn't being retarded over it.
-
Edited by Gamma: 8/15/2014 5:32:28 AMNice shirts.
-
Activision needs it's buck bro. Sorry they shut you down, maybe they were just upset you didn't somehow contact them first? Anyway, I hope they can come to some sort of understanding and work with you...But I really do not like Activision or how they operate.
-
Hope you guys get through to them
-
Very nice shirts. Maybe see if activision or bungie or someone can get it licensed
