This is sad, obviously some people do need the meds and therapy, but for others it's just a stage of life. When I was 13 I ran around the house beatboxing and stomping my feet, but I grew out of it.

(I'm one of the people who really did have serious ADHD.) When not on pills, you could find me spinning in circles, making sound effects, or running without end throughout the house. But these pills, while they certainly stopped all of that, also killed my appetite and turned me into an emotionless loner. I went like that from 1st to 6th grade. One day in 6th grade I said "You know what? I don't need this shit! I can control myself and not have to live so depressed all the time!" And so I threw my last prescription right into the garbage. Fast forward five months, and I had my ADHD very reasonably controlled from constant self-monitoring, to the point where I was hardly even having any impulses escape. I was finally happy and I started to make friends. I was still a little quirky, but I started to really settle into the idea of having people my age that I can talk and hang out with. So yeah. Drugs are bad, mkay?
