You can all do solo quest and get sub-par gear while me and my guild take down huge bosses that drop epic loot in dungeons that take the best groups to get through.
Can't wait to schedule times to get online with my fellow hardcore gamers and do raids and claim the rest of the planet in the name of our guild while the rest of you do easy single player casual quests and get terrible gear.

Edited by iGraviton: 2/23/2013 6:55:20 PMI think both solo players and group players will have enjoyable experiences in Destiny, with the same end-game. While yes, you'll be able to quickly amass a stockpile of quality gear faster than a solo player, solo players do have an advantage of their own. That advantage lies in experience. You and your group may be able to clear a dungeon in one try, but with the several tries it will take that solo player he/she will learn effective and efficient ways to take down enemies on their own. You'll have help throughout your journey, but he/she won't. This will force the solo player to innovate and think of ways to go about things that a group player wouldn't. Will it be a more difficult path for the solo player? Yes, but that will only make the solo player tougher. It'll be cool to see solo players able to clear boss level dungeons on their own, helping out struggling groups on their way to the loot. But this goes both ways, It'll also be interesting to see groups of players provide that same player with assistance as they attempt to clear a dungeon. I plan to play solo most of the time, and I know it'll be a lot more difficult than playing with a group, but I enjoy the challenge. Overall, I think both ways of play are going to be extremely fun, and provide experiences we haven't seen in gaming before.

I hope that Bungie goes the "Elderscrolls Online" way of handling "group loot". There is no bickering over who gets what in terms of loot, and everyone simply gets the same amount, whether it's gear or gold.

That's the great thing, this game will allow people to play the game in many unique ways. There is no one way to play Destiny. While I personally will be in a group of about 3 I can see the fun in playing Solo. Finding other players randomly seems like it'd be all the more fun while playing Solo, it's much more significant. Imagine being in Solo, when suddenly 3 Cabal come out of nowhere, the fight is intense and fun but you are outnumbered and pinned down. Suddenly 3 other players come out of nowhere and together you take down the Cabal and continue through the Dungeon together and help each other find treasure and loot. You then go your separate ways and now have met some potential invaluable partners should you have more ambitious projects later. Meanwhile on the flip side, 3 guys are exploring a Temple and have a lack of resistance, they hear a commotion nearby and follow the noise. They enter a room and down below is this one guy holding his own against 3 Cabal. Obviously going Solo all this time has made this guy pretty tough and stealthy too. You decide to help him out and now have an additional supporter for the future. Who knows, one day you may need to build up an Army for an attack on the Citadel and that Tough Solo Hunter can be useful sneaking around and taking down the Generators. These experiences are what will make Destiny the greatest experience in gaming. Stories told will be endless. It'll be a true adventure.

Sounds like you and this "guild" are incredibly narcissistic of yourselves. Also you sound a lot more like you are talking about WoW... Sooo yeah.
-
That's the difference between us. While you need your whole guild to beat the dungeons that have the best loot I only need myself.
-
I look forward to having fun while complete strangers do the same in their own way. I also look forward to not criticizing people for their opinions and preferences while playing.
-
Good for you.
-
I can't wait to smash you :)

Loot shouldn't be based off how many people you're with. It should be based off lore (Tomb raiding the Elder God of Face Smashing would entail an Elder God of Face Smash Hammer, etc) and how many challenges and the level of difficulty it is to get.

Friends?
-
I'm probably just going to play with a squad of like three friends
-
I just love the idea of texting my friends and asking them if they want to go to venus or mars etc.
-
Im going to be that lone wolf so flys in and steals that loot from the boss you just killed for me
-
Lol destiny is not an mmo.
-
Dungeons?
-
Well who knows what beast this game will be. However, I doubt bungie will force anything upon the player.
-
And then I kill you all one at a time, like a good little lone wolf
-
Souds like you've god sub fear of idfearioridy issues brah. Ahhb goid lode wolf doe badder how cudvidiend or idcudvediend id is.

You and your big ol' guild of 5 other players?
-
Half the fun of destiny will be finding new friends and I think that is part of the purpose so playing with a guild could limit those opportunities. Plus playing by yourself or with small groups is more fun and more of a challenge more enemies for you to shoot. That's the way I liket o do it.

Edited by DorkLord54: 2/22/2013 1:35:30 AMI'm pretty sure they'll probably offer hard arse challenges for those who wish to play the game in a "lone wolf" manner instead of playing with friends.

I plan on doing both, I have my own team but I also prefer to explore on my own.
