So like many, the thought of having pinnacle weapons like Recluse and Mountain Top reintroduced got me to start playing again.
I grinded an identical Recluse to the pinnacle reward original with the only difference being my new version has stability masterwork and the original came with range masterwork.
Sadly, the Recluse 2.0 is nowhere near as fun to use as its original was. Doesn’t have the same add killing power because of the nerf to the signature perk.
Master of Arms.
If Bungie is reading anything on the forum these days it would be great if you could undo this nerf so that Recluse can be enjoyed in its former glory.
Makes no sense to bring back these guns and have them perform as weaker versions of their predecessors.
TLDR: Master of Arms needs a BUFF.

If by "fun" you mean OPd, then no, it's not. As for the weapon - there are better options.

[quote]Sadly, the Recluse 2.0 is nowhere near as fun to use as its original was. This is almost irrelevant when it comes to addclear. Also if you use a perk like this for addclear then I don't know what to tell you. Besides, there is currently exactly one smg capable of rolling Repulsor+Frenzy (and this will be capable of clearing adds a lot better if you use it the way it's meant to be used).

Good I’m tired of everyone running around with a sub machine gun and a shotgun
-
You'll be able to enhance it in June.
-
That's just topical Bungie for you. The into the light has been pretty cool and fun but recluse is nothing special anymore and Luna has got nerfed so bad there's no point in using it (I'm talking about the sunset version).
-
I personally think prismaric opens up new possibilities for bungie if it is done right. If we can utlize this to mix and match our abilities then the same potentially can be done for weapons. Of course it would have to be far more streamlines for weapons. Of course im just speculating
-
You stopped playing the game, but since you heard a couple guns were relevant again, that got you excited enough to return? Wow. Easy to please
-
Yeah nothing is worth the grind in this Game anymore sadly! They just killing all the Fun very efective...

Edited by LadyGrey: 4/12/2024 6:58:16 PMI really think it's the Veist origin trait being removed that is holding the recluse back. It's, to me, what really helped Recluse be really good in the first place. It worked so well with the other perks. The nerf to that really was the downfall of the Recluse.
-
I agree, it’s a shame! Feels exactly like other smg’s, or even worse…
-
the recoil is -blam!- awful
-
I have not been impressed with it. I don;t have a good build for it, but the gun feels week and it takes way too much ammo to kill an add. I would rather use something else. Makes the whole grind for this used to be super cool gun bad and the gun itself MEH!
-
My issue is we texhnicallly had a void smg already now there is two. Recluse should have been changed to solar.
-
And i was told i was a Hateful idiot, and that the gun's would be Good and Powerful. Thank you for proving them wrong.

Edited by TeKnoVKNG23: 4/13/2024 1:31:18 AMI was taking a break from the game during the original Recluse period of dominance so I missed out on all the fun. I got a halfway decent role to drop the other night in Onslaught and tried to use it for a few rounds and in some other stuff, but man...I was very underwhelmed and couldn't figure out what all the hype was about the gun. 900 rpms for the most part just seem to tickle enemies, even with decent perks.
-
Well they would have just nerfed it in a few months anyway. Anyone who has been here awhile (and I’ve been here since the very beginning) knows this. Bungie just saved you from future disappointment and saved a step.
-
I’m looking for the destabilising rounds with repulsion brace roll. Would go beautifully with volatile hunter
-
They shouldve brought it back as strand, my calus mini tool and webby are better.
-
It was a 5% nerf. It's not that serious. It's still good
-
FREEE MY MANS (returning weapons that were nerfed) THEY AINT DO NOTHING WRONG (they did but I want em back)
-
or you can use the stronger perks
-
Riven in Thigh Highs
A wish dragon in some socks - old
Its a 15% damage buff for getting a kill with any weapon and refreshes itself, its fine -
Fun or not, the original version of Recluse was busted and extremely unhealthy for the game. Even by today's standards, the original effect of Master of Arms would be head and shoulders above everything else - not only did it have the huge damage increase, it also made all body shots deal damage equal to precision shots. I don't see what the point of nerfing it from 20% to 15% in this update was, and that could quite easily be undone, but it's never going back to +50% precision & +150% to body. If it was in that superpowered state only after kills with other weapons then fine, but you could keep it up with only Recluse itself with no trade-off or risk.
-
Well, I would suggest throwing a few void surges mods, and you will be cooking exactly the same way, mate.
-
Seems like eeeeeevvvvveryone would like the damage perks to work like they originally did. That's what it seems like.
-
It's 15% instead of 20%
