Bungie, please invest in your players so we can invest back into this game.
We need Dedicated Servers.

It’s kinda like a joke that they don’t have them at this point, they have to be outright saying in their studio “it’s too much work” it’s blatant laziness and nothing more.
-
Bro how fast this would improve the crucible experience regardless your opinion on sbmm is actually crazy and it hurts.

Edited by Kirka soi ja viini virtaa: 1/24/2023 3:19:39 PMYea it's strange.

But are you willing to pay for dedicated servers? Answer is most likely no. You can demand dedicated servers all you want, but the community will not pay for it.
-
Biased poll. Would look better if you just gave yes or no options
-
Tbh I don't much care doesn't affect us skill issue players
-
For the short time Bungie is still making stuff for Destiny they won't do it. Not profitable. I wish they would though. It would really lay the groundwork for their next games and make their reputation a lot better. Definitely be a bigger selling point.
-
At the end of the game's lifespan you actually think the money will be spent on servers? Delusional.
-
I'd be living on Destiny if they had dedicated servers.

Ah, you people wouldn't have survived the original Halo 2/3 games. :-) Compared to those games, the connections in Destiny and Destiny 2 are perfect. In the 9 years of playing the Destiny franchise, I've rarely experienced any sort of lag. Destiny doesn't need servers. -
The connection is probably the worst I've ever seen. Ever since IB it's been unplayable

Edited by Puma Kane: 1/21/2023 1:33:33 PMYes we need dedicated servers, but I aint quitting Destiny 2. It's too fun.
-
I agree 100%
-
Found 85% of why this game blows.
-
This game runs pretty smoothly but does lag sometimes, mostly in crowded areas or when lots of things happening at once tho. But yes, we do need dedicated servers.
-
Bump!
-
everyone under the assumptions that bungie is sticking to the 10 year developement cycle for destiny are misinformed. The final shape is the last DLC being talked about now, but they are forgoing Destiny 3 in order to keep Destiny 2 going... we need dedicated servers to "future-proof" the game for after the Final Shape.
-
People have been asking for dedicated servers since 2014, it isn't happening, at least not in D2.
-
Not happening, not enough people shelled out in the eververse store
-
They probably won’t do it. The game is 8 years old on it’s supposedly 10 year lifespan. Game is at its end. If they wanted to do it, they would have done this years ago when D2 launched. But they didn’t. Instead they focused on destroying this game when vanilla D2 launched and then later on focused on milking it by introducing schemy micro-transactions. The only probable way this game will get dedicated servers now is if Sony would interfere and do it for them. And it’s gonna be an expensive and complete rework of the game. That’s how lazy and greedy this crew is. Hahahahahahaha! But Sony won’t even touch this mess!Hahahahahahaha! So I’m guessing dedicated servers this late in the game probably won’t happen. But do you know what will? They will continue to milk this hollow and broken game until the end. Hahahahahahaha!

Look, I get it. You're probably like me and absolutely love the flow of the game they made, but there's a few "never gunna happen" things we need to just wrap our heads around because the only other option is perpetual frustration and let downs. We're NEVER getting dedicated servers. Ever. It's not happening now, it's not happening when lightfall hits, it's not happening before the end of time. It's a dead horse, there's no amount of beating it that's going to make it a live one. Not all the kings horses or men, blah blah blah. We're ALSO never getting back any of the non rotating play lists. We're not getting functional NAT traversal so that everyone can use the in game VOIP. We're not getting a robust netcode that isn't so poorly written that we've all quite literally memorized the names of the error codes. We're never getting regional locking or anything else that would really polish the game. We've redefined what success means and it's NOT quality anymore.

It’s been a glaring oversight since day one. Talked about probably over a thousand times on these forums. Yet, I’ve never heard Bungie remotely address the issue. If the youtubers and streamers want to make a positive change they should be clamoring about dedicated servers constantly. If Bungie wants Lightfall and/or the Final Shape to be extremely successful, they would introduce dedicated servers. I truly believe it would be a massive game changer. And I believe thousands of players would come back to the game over night. Probably not going to happen though. It’s goes against their minimal effort maximum profit ways.

Connection in crucible this season is at an all time low.
-
Holy shit, this is never happening. At some point you all need to move on. This has been asked for since 2014 and Bungo has consistently ignored you. Move. On.

Edited by Ferus Lux: 1/22/2023 6:32:07 AMIt can't realistically happen. The engine and workings of the game depend on the servers that have now. They'd have to redesign everything to work on a new server type.
