As much as I love them, there's little reason to bring a hand cannon into the wild these days. And sure, they can still be effective, but the lack of accuracy at medium range and nearing zero effectiveness beyond that makes them a poor alternative to scout and pulse rifles. I'm not saying they should be on par with scout rifles at range, for example, but the recent nerf was excessive and introduced to element of luck in hand cannon use that is just not fun. This applies to pvp too. So while they did need reigning in somewhat (mostly exotics in the Crucible), the current solution is not the answer. Nerf the class in other ways if needs be, but I'm tired of having bullets miss completely when sighted dead on the targets head at distances a pistol should be effective in. So come on, Bungie - there's room to give them a buff without stepping on other weapon's toes.

I just used thorn in a super close quarter map. I'm very good with thorn and finished pretty strong but I got beaten by pulse riffles a few times in short range. I don't understand why the hand cannons had to be nerfed this much just because 3 handcannons ruled the competive scene for a few months.
