I'm a level 27 with only a rare auto rifle. For the upcoming raid and nightfall I'm about to do, is a legendary auto rifle necssary? With those 150 marks I could buy two armor pieces and break them down for shards.

Shadow Price. Get it.
-
I vote yes. it will make a big difference in your effectiveness.
-
You should have bought suros last week
-
you should level up and get good gear before trying end game activites but I won't be the one carrying you so that's not for me to say.
-
Idk you could very well get one from a raid but doctor nope from the vanguard is one of my favorites.
-
Yes it is
-
Yes, absolutely definitely. Get shadow price, vanquisher viii, or grim citizen iii. I recommend the vanquisher.
-
I thought the same last night when I went to by a legendary vanguard weapon , in the end I bought an legendary scout rifle due to the fact the autos are supposedly getting a nerf.
-
I just got the unwilling soul even though I have Suros Regime and I prefer it. Cost 150 from dead orbit.
-
I did the raid with a rare shingen....so it is poss, though am saving up for legendary AR as well...going to go 4 shadow price, as I have a couple of exotics already... I'd do the raid and other events for shards personally...

Edited by NeXuS: 10/2/2014 10:37:30 AMI was still rocking a blue auto rifle (Surrender A) until level 28 bro. Did everything with it, including VoG; the damage bonus from legendary (pre upgrades) is negligible. However since having Suros drop from VoG, and having it almost completely upgraded, I've noticed a substantial increase in badassery. Conclusion? Buy it bro!

doesn't everything cost that much
-
Just don't get 'doctor nope'... it's a pile of $#!&

Edited by g1mp0nt0ur: 10/2/2014 9:53:06 AMI wouldn't buy an auot rifle atm. They'll get nerfed soon and you'll just regret it if they overdo the nerf. That's the reason I won't upgrade my armor(except the helmet) atm with shards. I could fully upgrade 2 other parts but I'll wait and see if the autorifle will still be valid in pve after the nerf.

Edited by Most Holy Karma: 10/2/2014 10:01:55 AMWell...Is it worth? Yes. Should you try to get one without buying it? Definitely. But if you want to do endgame content and don't have a legendary primary then go for it. You need legendary weapons to get through the hardest parts of the raid, for sure, unless you are very skilled. The raid usually gives tons of Ascendant Materials, so you don't need to worry as much about those the further your progress. Edit: Auto Rifles and Scout Rifles are the only weapons worth using in the raid. Handcannons don't have sustained damage, and takes to long to kill because you won't always be able to get the precision shots, and they are useless against the bosses. Pulse Rifles are..meh. Small clips, not much reserve ammo, unreliable damage because you can miss shots etc etc.

Thanks guys, shards to get me off of 27 seem more important right now.
-
No don't buy legendary weapons use what you have because there is a legendary auto rifle in the raid that's op I've got it twice there is also the suros in there too so don't buy weapons unless there from xur lol

I think it helps. I did parts of the raid with a rate, it was difficult
