Cross Generation Play? (NOT PS to XBOX) PLEASE RECONSIDER BUNGIE!!!
Does anyone know if Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will be able to play together for the final game? I would love to play Raid and other gametypes with my brother and friends on Xbox 360 (I play on the Xbox One). I thought they would allow cross platform play within the Xbox Community, but that was not the case for the Beta. Thanks!
*I forgot to mention that I wanted this because my brother plays on the Xbox 360 and I play on the Xbox One. Sorry for the confusion!!
UPDATE: Hopefully Bungie reconsiders!! Now the only way I could play with my brother and friends on the Xbox 360 is if we get a second Xbox 360 or Xbox One console for my household because there is also no splitscreen :/

I don't believe so but I think you can use your character on either 360 or One. Anyone feel free to correct me or modify that statement if I'm wrong.

But they did not even give it a try! Not only would this help Bungie gain more money from people buying more games to play with thier friends on different consoles, but it also could be used to help people get their friends in raid with them. I was bummed when they said no splitscreen, but now we cannot even play together if we buy two copies of the game! Please Bungie could you at least change this for launch!!

8 RepliesI suggest you buy a copy of destiny for both xbox one and 360. You are able to seamlessly transfer your character from generation to generation, and the disparity between generations isn't that big, I'd say (PS3 version still looks and performs great).

2 RepliesInteresting, I was under the impression that they could, I only assumed they meant Xbox -> PS, well, now I wish they made the game on Nextgen Systems 60fps, since it's not like they even effect each other at all. Knowledge is power.

1 ReplyI read that there is gunna be no cross platforming of any kind due to the graphic differences of each system. They think its going to affect PVP. It does make sense, but it still sucks. I was really looking forward too that just like everyone else.

1 Replywhile there will be no cross platform play per se, you can use the same characters across the systems. example: start playing on Xbox one and you log into a 360 you will have the same character available from the one and vice versa. this only works as long as it remains in the same ecosystem, xbox live vs psn.

It's multiplatform not cross platform, I hate how people get this mixed up. You can play on multiple platforms but you can't cross play on the platforms. Ex. Ps4-ps3 can't do it. Therefore it's not cross platform but multiplatform. Yes? :)

3 RepliesI do not believe that you can play Destiny across the Generation. The PS3 won't be on the same server to game on as the PS4. The same goes for the XbOx 360 and the XbOx OnE. However. If you have a copy for each of the machines. Both generations, the XbOx 360 and XbOx One, for example, you can use the same characters for each game. You create a character on the XbOx OnE you can use that character on the XbOx 360. As far as I know, this is how it works. I'm not sure why they aren't cross compatible through generation as the PS3 and the PS4 servers, for example, in Final Fantasy online is cross generation and cross compatible with the PC and the game DC Universe is also cross generation for the PS3 and PS4.

1 ReplyLol so basically it's not happening because some MIGHT complain of the pixel advantage next gen has. First, i thought this was pve focused and mostly about the coop experience. Second, who cares?! People will complain about everything. If anything, no cross gen on pvp. I just want to play with my past gen homies [spoiler]PRE ORDER SO SUPER CANCELED!! ;)[/spoiler]
