Playstation 4 just lost,
If anything, MS and consumers just lost. MS lost because they spent the same amount of money as Sony on Kinect 1.0 only to have it bomb just as badly as Move. Arguably worse because Move's setup at least worked with a couple of big name FPSers. With XB1 MS thought to break the cycle that left Kinect gathering dust by forcing everyone to get it, thus removing the hard choice that developers would have to make in developing for Kinect: Namely that the incredibly small install base with Kinect aren't going to buy many games, thus developers won't throw money at something they won't get a return out of, thus reaffirming people's decisions not to buy the Kinect because it doesn't have games and what games it does have are horrible. For MS they just wasted a bunch of more money with Kinect 2.0 because they spent that time forcing the bundle and having it impact sales and now that they said they are going to ditch it. Their laying their DRM policies bare without offering the incredible sales that Steam's setup has really did them in and doomed Kinect 2.0 even more so. For consumers there's nothing different about this console generation aside from UIs and upgraded specs. Nothing to push boundaries in new areas. I suppose that trying to push the future as motion gaming was ultimately the problem though. This was MS and Sony trying to hop on the gravy train that was the Wii, after it already left the station, without understanding why the Wii sold so well. And it wasn't due to motion gaming. Also: I just shit a brick and I bet none of you are going to read it or reply. Ungrateful -blam!-s.
