Destiny Wishlist

Yes, it's true, another Destiny wishlist thread :) This time around though I'll do my best to differ this one a bit for the sake of us and, hopefully, for Bungie. Anyways, ladies (if there are any), gents, and trolls, allow me to enlighten you. At this short period of time in Destiny's development Bungie is most likely still able to make fairly drastic changes to their upcoming universe. Also at this time we, as a community, are knowledgeable enough of said universe to understand its very basics and potentially contribute suggestions that may or may not be added into the final product. Below I will organize your guys' wishes based on their popularity with everyone else. If all goes well, we should end up with a sturdy list of hopes and dreams that are convenient to look at. With no further ado, I'll start us off: Massive Worlds You can travel to any place in sight. Some areas may only be accessible through the use of certain vehicles, but are always reachable. The ENTIRE City can be ventured through as well as any planet. Spacecraft should be able to travel from planet to planet seamlessly, and even enter the atmosphere. In-Depth Skill Trees Upgrade/customization system with varying skill trees based on class that branch out into several differentiating strands. Like Borderlands/Skyrim on steroids. Unique Unscripted Events Anything can happen at any time. Missions aren't simply go here, kill that, and be done. They should have more than one outcome at the end and be able to be handled in multiple ways (like Dishonored). Random encounters that are rare and different from any other; something that very well might only happen once. Crafting and Armor Customization The ability to forge your own weapons and armors with materials of your choice and with a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and skins. Make your own designs, similar to the Forza Horizon design creator. Varying HUD Imagine if helmet customization went beyond just appearance and stats. What if you visuals changed depending on the helmet and visor worn. For instance, the actual helmet itself will cause the outline from your view to change. Also, visors could be swapped out in the helmet to provide different perks. A sniper visor could enhance zoom in range while an engineer one could display more panels to keep check on equipment. Land, Air, and Water Combat In atmosphere aircraft, land vehicles, boats, and (obviously) foot soldiers all fighting in either PvE or PvP. A Battlefield like warzone. Four Player Split Screen Good ole four player split screen. Hardcore Stats Stats available on Bnet and in-game that range from favorite weapons and personal play style to how many games a certain faction has won and everything in between. Auction House Area in the City where items can be put on the market to be fought over (through bidding) by buyers.

I can only think of one thing right now and that's at the end of a PvP match you get a winning or losing cutscene. In control or skirmish and other team based matches. if you win you can interact with the other team by shaking their hands, or you can walk away with your team cheering and then you vanish off. If you lose , your team all just stand or sit there and kind of sulk. In the rumble match if you win you kind of just walk away brushing off your armor and vanish and if you lose you throw down your weapon and stand there angry, or you can do an angry action. . Titan: punches a wall . Warlock: reads a book slowly or sadly . Hunter: stands and shakes head or puts their head in their hands

  • I want to be able to engage anyone in combat wherever I'm at. I've always found a dedicated PVP area nonsensical. It doesn't make sense that in an FPS I can't shoot someone. I know the response to this is that others wish to not engage in combat out in the wild. Well what if there was a bounty system in place? For example, You're out in the wild with your friends working on a mission, when suddenly a more powerful opponent appears and attacks all of you. You as a team try and tackle him (creating an individual nonscripted yet thrilling experience) However, for this example you and your team are too weak and die. How is this fun for the weaker players? What is the incentive for the stronger player to attack them? Well whenever a stronger player attacks a weaker player he should have diminishing returns the lower the level of the attacked player. If a strong player kills a weak player he should be barely rewarded and punished more so. He collects "bounty points" as his unjust kill count rises his "bounty points" could rise thus making him a target for other players who bounty hunt. As the bounty grows so should the ease of tracking of the player-again to make it a double edged sword to attack the peaceful players- If he visits a city an alert is sent to the hunters or to a hub of some sort. ETC. Imagine hopping online and researching at a local city the highest bounties of players last scene in the area. This could grow the "fame" of certain high level players. Shifting/changing the world much like bungie has expressed it wants to happen. You as a player can choose to be a bad guy/challenge the bad guys or simply avoid them or get blasted. Up to you. Also back to the original example. Say one of the team escapes dying from the attack. Possibly he could be a witness and hire a bounty hunter or wait for his buds to respawn and try and track the attacker. I know that was a jumbled mess but I want players to be able to attack each other with in-game consequences good or bad for their actions. It would make for a much more immersive experience rather than simply "an arena" or the woodlands where you can fight each other.

    • Free Roam Space travel Being able to fly freely from planet to planet, although fast travel should obviously be an option(FTL?) Seamless Space to ground Being able to enter atmosphere from space instantly and land, and also be able to fly in atmosphere with same ship.

Missions with more than a single outcome. I don't really want 'Move A to B killing everything, then kill the boss and win.' I'd like to see metaphorical forks in the road which leave a permanent mark on your character depending on which route your take.

    • Super basic, but it would be cool with chat if you could only hear the people around you when you were close to them, and used like a walkie talkie style/headset when you were trying to do missions with your group and you were further apart. Really, just taking the voice interactions to a more realistic level. Maybe still use a party chat if you want, but if you were actually in game, w/o a party then this would take place.

My wishlist is as follows: Vast, Open world: A large, open world where you can play for 50+ hours and only see about 50% of the games’ locations is something I would love to see. I want to be in a populated world, but it should be big enough that there are areas where I’ll be the only one around. Customization: Ok, here’s the big one. Customization is a big deal for me, so this should be pretty lengthy… - Skills + Abilities What I’m hoping for is a highly in-depth system in which I can pick and choose my powers, and tailor my character to fit my playstyle. I want to be able to play the same class 15 times and have different power configurations for each. This is one of the two things I want the most out of Destiny, and the second thing lies one point down. - Armor In regards to armor, I want to be able to create a unique identity for my character. Bungie so far has been promoting the whole customization aspect so far, so I’m sure there will be boundless customization options, but I have one concern. That one concern is that Bungie will tie stats to their armor pieces. If they do this, then customization is pointless. This is due to there being a “best set” of armor for any given class or build. When that happens, everyone wears the same thing. I don’t want my creativity to be limited because one of the coolest looking armor pieces in the game has horrendous stats. So please Bungie… I beg, I plead, and I implore you; do not, for the love of all things holy and sacred, tie stats to armor pieces. - Weapons As far as weapons go, most systems will be just fine for me. But since this IS a wishlist, I’ll put in a system that I’d want in my dream game. If you haven’t played Blacklight: Retribution, I suggest you go do so. The reason I’m bringing this up is because I love the system that game has for weapon customization. From the clip, to the sights, to the stock, everything is totally customizable. That system lets you tailor your weapon to fit your playstyle, which is something I’d love to see in Destiny. - Vehicles As far as vehicles go, I don’t need too much out of this category. All I want is a hot-pink Pike, and a Normandy SR-2 So that’s it for customization. Told you it’d be a bit lengthy, but again; customization is what I want the most. TL:DR: Skill Trees. Don’t tie stats to armor. Blacklight: Retribution’s weapon system. A hot-pink Pike. Stats: It would be nice if I could access my account online to see my stats. Stuff like kills, favorite weapon, class, time played, story progress; Essentially Halo Waypoint with Destiny. Auction House: I’d love an auction house. Not something I couldn’t live without, but I need a place to sell my extra loot and plunder. Mobile App: All I want out of the mobile app (which we saw in the ViDoc) is access to stats, maybe a feature to send messages in-game to someone not in-game, and access to the auction house. Nothing fantastic, just features I would want access to on the go. So that’s it, my wishlist for Destiny. I know it’s asking a LOT, and I know many of the things I mentioned won’t be in the game, but hey it’s a wishlist. I know that I can’t expect all these things to be there, because if I do, I know I’ll just be disappointed. Anyway, I’m sure whatever Destiny becomes will blow me away, and hopefully some of what I say is taken to heart by the fellas over at Bungie. <3

      • 1. High customization Ex: Helmets edit hud, or even switching which side you hold your gun in for us left handed people 2. Not just any story line one that continues like if at the end of the campaign a character says they will come back after that attack and a real life week passes and a new section has come out where they attack back a bit like the spartan ops from halo 4 3. I don,t want like borderlands giving you tons of guns but most just being retextured with some random stats and abilities

      • I'd like some Micro-Forging options. Like buying or finding pieces or parts that can be forged onto vehicles, weapons, and Armor. LIke finding a part on a fallen enemy and you take it back to the city. You open up a Work Bench and now your helmet is suspended in a Micro-forge where you can clip the part onto or through it making it look very unique. It would be fun to do that with the Star Shps also.

As many side quests as skyrim or more, the real beauty of that game was when you chained multiple quests together to form one awesome story arc. While trying to track down the source of the dragons, I got drunk with a demi god, violated the inner sanctum of a temple, saved a village, slew a dragon, escorted a child across the country to fulfill her destiny, upon delivering the child, investigated a string of murder and corruption culminating in a revolt against the current town leaders, it could've been the entire story of a linear game, but all of it unfolded by itself. I want this in Destiny.

      • 1. TRUE exploration. I want to get in my spacewhip (yes with a 'w') and fly to that distant planet that I saw a glimpse of on earth. Upon landing, find some ballin ancient civilization construct, traverse the trapped-ridden ruins just to get a cool helmet 2. Integrated lore that's really engaging 3. Skill trees in my skill trees

Close-quarters combat that can rival a skilled sniper's headshots in effectiveness, specifically psychological or magical power and melee. Tons of chat control to block those below rated M for mature guidelines. Scripting, not just unscripted fluff to keep the game's momentum. Campaign coverage through simulated news organizations throughout the game that is connected to tablets/phones for integrated gaming. Maps that are futuristic in scope and design. In the distant future, Maps are better than Google Maps and are not just 2D radar readings.

          • Enemy vehicles.. Space combat.. Competitive multiplayer.. No proximity chat- party only. (To get rid of the 8 year olds) Access to the giant city beneath the traveler.. Huge open worlds for planets.. Public zones should only be huge war-zones.. Where there are high concentration of enemies making it important to have alot of people centralized there. In-atmosphere Air Combat.. Terminals.. Custom emblems.. (Maybe for our ships or capes) Deployable bases for guilds.. (maybe while in the private zones we could set up camps for our clans) Rocket launchers.. Knives.. The ability to change the HUD via buying a new helmet.. Dynamic encounters.. Boats & Islands.. Trip mines & Traps for enemies.. Hire-able robots that follow you around (Like the one in the trailer with the sniper rifle) Dr.Pepper vending machines

            • My wish list: Bigger than Skyrim sized customization, even more varied. Since this is an online game, people will be playing it for a LONG time... and the longer you play the more different your character should be than everyone elses... I want ENDLESS skill trees, and to play for days without seeing someone using the same stuff I am. Free roaming worlds with random encounters, maybe even crazy randoms like the ultimate weapons in the old FFVII... I want to see things one time, that i'll never see again. Good rewards for raids, and not 30 hours and a month's worth of farming to do a raid with your team of 24 perfectly attuned people to get one helmet with +501 defense over a +500 helmet and the other 23 people get jack. for the love of god... in PvP... make it better than black ops II... where you shoot someone, and they are like hey there's bullets hitting me! I'll slowly turn around - ok that's where the guy is because another bullet went through my head ... ok sight him up, then one shot him. meanwhile that other guy just put 50 bullets into you, before you even saw him, but he died. but really the biggest thing I want is variation... I don't want to be exactly the same as every other person, especially at the end of 1 month playtime.

                • I hope that there will be an online stats page, like there was for H3. It will show recent games, medals awarded, etc. ...but most importantly it will also include stats for the campaign. Including medals for campaign milestones and achievements. I think it would be awesome to see how many times you beat the campaign on the hardest difficulty setting...and if there are skulls (or something similar) that modify the difficulty...how many were activated on a play through. I would say that something like this is planned...but I would like to see as much love go into the ability to compare stats for the campaign as for multi-player. And I would think that with the way Bungie has been talking about the focus of the campaign being social and interactive that this would be a great addition to the game if it is not planned.
