I can tell you guys right now....those specs for the new consoles are really good.....for consoles. Compared to PC gaming....it's very low end....but for consoles it's very high end.
ANYWAYS...The CPU in the PS4 = good....the one in the Xbox....eh...not as much. So just keep that in mind. Both consoles will kick out AROUND the same graphics performance....around.

All rumors, only rumors!

Do we know yet if the next Xbox is still going to use the LOL-DVD format or upgrade to Bluray?
-
That's decent specs, but modern PC's blow it away.
-
So very high end specs.... for concoles + games that are optimized for those concoles specificly? Sound like a great deal to me! And remember, the fact that games are totally optimized for the console is a HUGE factor. The fact that Xbox 360 and the PS3 are still getting amazing looking games proves that point.

Edited by Jaaake AU: 1/16/2013 10:43:14 PMDid IGN really cite an article that's almost a year old? Plus those "leaked" documents haven't even been made public yet. They could have anything on them for all we know. Current rumours for the Durango are: Eight-core cpu, 8800 series graphics, windows 8 kernel specially os, 640g hard drive + 8GB DDR3 RAM. Edited by Mass Craziness: 1/16/2013 10:03:23 PMList form: 1) Why is Playstation losing the cell processor? That thing had amazing potential. 2) GPUs are pretty much identical. Not surprised here. I'll wait for more info. 3) That onboard secondary GPU as well as the primary GPU for the PS4 sounds promising, granted they're removing the cell processor. I can live with this arrangement.

The specs might seem low but the way they build them and delegate the resources you can't really compare it in PC gaming terms. The 360 was able to do some impressive things with the resources they had, the PS3 as well.

They just need to future proof the consoles. They didn't with this gen, and look how far it went even then. With modern tech, and future proofing in mind...they could easily last 10 years just fine.

Oh another Playstation? Milk
