I'm quitting when checkmate gets implemented

I have over 4k hours in D2s pvp, I acknowledge that things need to change.. but not to this extent. Instead of everything they are doing now bungie should remove sbmm from casual playlists and have it be cbmm for control, Iron banner, ect. Have the comp modes be ranked based matchmaking, while trials has a mix of card and connection based matchmaking (while also going back to elimination, idek 1 person that likes zone control for trials). Balancing wise its more complicated than buff this and that, but this will make the game incredibly slow again. Every time I played checkmate I was like wow this feel slow and extremely boring now here's why I felt that way, Its cause I love the fast pace slide sniping or hell even just being aggressive with a hand cannon. It feels rewarding in trials to get that first pick or even getting a multi kill because I knew the map and the angles better and got the kill. I used to love loading up quickplay in year 2 and 3 and just chillin with my homies going for 4-5-6-7 kills for montages that's just what I enjoyed the matchmaking allowed those fun moments of me playing with my homies cause we mastered the game, I get it pub stomping is not fun on the other end of things when it happens, When it happened to me it was once in a blue moon, It wasn't often it was by chance I matched a good team oh well next game, now its sweat after sweat after sweat. Why do you think Halo 2-3 as good as they were? because they focused on the fun factor in matchmaking while there were competitive playlists where you could sweat and try and get rewarded for it, Now the game is only sbmm and is a drag to play with my friends of worse skill than me, they don't wanna play because they get stomped, I would love to play pvp with my gf that is a .4 in pvp but I can't because sbmm favors me and it only ruins her experience. Now the game is gonna be a lottt slower with sbmm still involved and that isn't fun for me its okay if you like it, its just not for me. I don't want this game to die regardless of what makes me mad in the moment. I just miss wanting to hop on pvp to try to get clips and then when I'm done go & chill cause I could sit in pvp all weekend and enjoy myself but everything is so sweaty now it drains me and I take big breaks because there is no chill in this game anymore. Sometimes I wish Bungie would listen to people like me, who have been bad at pvp then became good over the course of time and effort but they never will. So once checkmate is implemented I'm leaving :) its been good then bad then good then bad again but I hope the best for bungie and their team. But I'm not gonna force myself to play something that I don't enjoy.

 • Same bro. I liked Checkmate… as a game mode. Not as the game. It’s honestly so stupid. What does everyone think of when they envision D2 in its prime? Forsaken. Forsaken had: - An abundance of special (RIP double scav) - An abundance of abilities (RIP Intellect) - A HC meta with fast TTKs (RIP 120 meta/150s) - Abilities that weren’t overwhelmingly powerful (Abilities like Decoy and pre-nerf Bastion) What does Checkmate bring to the table? - The least amount of special this game has ever seen - Less abilities - Slower TTKs across the board with a Bow/Sidearm meta - Less aggression (People play more careful with no special to save them) - More camping (Waiting for abilities to come back and Bow peek shooting) Checkmate is quite literally the opposite of Golden Age Destiny. “Bold move Cotton, let’s see how it plays out for them.” (Mad props if you understood that reference.)
